i love this girl. she is intelligent extremely down to earth, she honestly accepts her privileges and doesn't hesitate to share her insecurities. she has an excellent personality. when she speaks you don't feel you are listening to a star child she speaks like any other girl of her age. how practical and respectful she is. unlike other actors complaining about media attention she is respectfully accepting that they need this and at the same time not denying that its not all the time welcome.

The best part is, Amritha, Kareena, Karisma, Shermila Tagore, Soha are all women who are strong and have always done what they wanted without making big statements about them. Be it Amritha marrying the man she loved without conforming to accepted 'norms' and Shermila Tagore playing strong female leads in many movies, Kareena continuing to work while pregnant, Karisma coming into cinema in a family that did not allow the women to act, Soha being an LSE graduate coming into arts... they have all been women with a definite confidence about them that is undeniable. Sara is influenced by some of the best women in the industry and the most liberal father and it shows. So good to have actresses like her in the industry.

I am impressed by Sara's confidence and intelligence. She is one smart girl and that's mostly because of her upbringing.
Sara is right in saying that boys and girls are to be treated equally but safety is altogethher a different issue .....untill the world around has become what u want it to become ....it's better to keep yourself safe bcz u don'T know the intentions of the other person roaming around .
So does it mean the world is little safer place for boys?! They have the right to remain little late out. Like Sara said "we cant change the world", we have take care of our own safety. I strongly believe that we have to very careful of our safety but saying we cant change the world is wrong. There have been many leaders who have been working very hard to change all the ill ideology and by saying "we cant change the world",it defeats the very purpose of the hard works of all the leaders present,past and the future. I believe the 1st step to bring change is to changes in the thought process then who knows what changes we will be able to see.

exactly. as long as you aren't policing others or blaming the victim for not having taken "enough care" instead of holding the offender responsible for his actions, it's absolutely fine to realize that there are steps you can take to lessen your chances of ending up in a bad situation, and it doesn't necessarily imply that you're not acknowledging the fact that you shouldn't need to in the first place.
prte loyi i do agree with you, her words gave off the implication that hoping for and working towards the betterment of these issues is pointless, and pointed a little towards victim blaming, whereas she could've acknowledged the need for this mindset to change, which could've easily been done without her having to go back on her words...

i love this girl. she is intelligent extremely down to earth, she honestly accepts her privileges and doesn't hesitate to share her insecurities. she has an excellent personality. when she speaks you don't feel you are listening to a star child she speaks like any other girl of her age. how practical and respectful she is. unlike other actors complaining about media attention she is respectfully accepting that they need this and at the same time not denying that its not all the time welcome.

The best part is, Amritha, Kareena, Karisma, Shermila Tagore, Soha are all women who are strong and have always done what they wanted without making big statements about them. Be it Amritha marrying the man she loved without conforming to accepted 'norms' and Shermila Tagore playing strong female leads in many movies, Kareena continuing to work while pregnant, Karisma coming into cinema in a family that did not allow the women to act, Soha being an LSE graduate coming into arts... they have all been women with a definite confidence about them that is undeniable. Sara is influenced by some of the best women in the industry and the most liberal father and it shows. So good to have actresses like her in the industry.

Barkha Dutt needs to use the words "Please" and "Thank you" more often. She talks to her audience as if she is looking down upon them. "HOLD ON","Speak in the mic", like c'mon, these guys aren't facing mics and cameras on a daily basis and a little respect doesn't hurt; albeit being rude reflect more on her than the audience.
