Serenity of hand carved wooden Buddha statue masterfully imposed by traditional artisan

This wooden Buddha statue is amazingly carved only using a chisel and mallet by masterful hands of traditional artisan. It impersonate all the noble qualities of lord Buddha. The artisan is truly talented to impose every delicate feature of lord Buddha depicting serenity and calm.Speciality is they never use sketch or mould during the whole process and just from imagination they make wonders with wood.
Carving Buddha statue is done with utmost devotion and in accordance to ancient ritual. Showing the gratitude to lord Buddha, the trational artisans always make sure not to keep the statue on ground or floor even during the production process. With devotion they believe that Buddha satue should always be kept in a higher postion.
The artisans begin this process by sizing the wood with chisel, before applying colors made with natural pigments. This process is almost almost meditative, requiring intricate mental calculations.Little by little they are imposing the live features out from a solid wood.It will take at least one weak of time to make a creation.Finally the statue is smoothened, lacqured and varnished to give a glossy finish.
Many traditional wood carvers start to learn the profession at very young age. As a child they work at temples, pagodas and in the workshop of their father.This art is handed over from generation to generation.
This meticulously hand carved made in wood shows Lord Buddha in a sitting pose engrossed in deep meditation. Lord Buddha is the very essence of peace & harmony, and this Lord Buddha statue personifies that.

It also gives you something to visualize while meditating, or allows you to bring the Buddha closer into your life through prayer
