    Ignore the haters, this was beautifully executed, every member was on par and spectacular. I haven't enjoyed jazz in a while, and this put me in left field on a lawn chair made of tempered cherry wood. Keep doing what you guys do. Peace to you gentlemen.

    I love songs like this that are groovy and chill with a hint of metal lurking underneath it all. I feel like after the show when everyone is chanting, "Encore! Encore!"
    The guitarist is like, "Yeah! Let's go!"
    The bassist is like, "I'm down for a few more."
    and the drummer is passed out in a puddle of sweat.

    most of you guys are missing the point behind choosing that drum sound as an option,its solely for the purpose of clarity because any drummer would 99% prefer to use acoustic studio drum sets in that environment as opposed to this artificial sound.
    the intention was dynamic sound leveling so the drums could be played as necessary without compromise and thus not affecting the drummers freedom to play with aggressive attack and in turn not be overbearing for the other instruments to be heard evenly in the mix.
    just think about how it would totally change the feel of this piece of music if those drums were played acoustically ,the change would be drastic!

    I agree with person below, way to critical, the drummer is definitely playing live, they've just added effects after. Some people just like to wank on about how clever they are. What these guys are doing in this video is what most bands do when recording an album, that is record, then add effects in the mix.

    VERY sick drumming, dude, very sick! Overall, all three doing a great job, but did I mention how absolutely SICK the drumming is? Tell your mixer that the bass is too low in the mix. Did I say how sick the drumming was? Damn!

  • @adamnathanielbassett
    @adamnathanielbassett 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    drums definitely aren't real. the sound is too consistent and there just aren't the right mics on those drums to get that sound. cad mics aren't clear like that.

    • @DerekHartley
      @DerekHartley 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have weird ears, they're clearly real drums. Probably overcompressed but definitely real.

    • @omgwtfbbqalekx
      @omgwtfbbqalekx 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a real drum, but what I think threw you onto that idea in the first place is that it may not be the drum track from the music video. You're right about the lack of mics too, there's no way that drumset would sound the way it does with the way it's setup.

    • @HunterShawMusic
      @HunterShawMusic 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      omgwtfbbqalekx All the shells are sound replaced. A snare drum doesn't sound like that naturally, especially with the mic pointed down like that. Listen to faster fills. Way too consistent to be natural. If you think simply throwing a compressor on there will create that consistency then you don't truly understand how compression works.

    • @omgwtfbbqalekx
      @omgwtfbbqalekx 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hunter Shaw pray tell, where did the compressor come into play? I never mentioned it.

    • @HunterShawMusic
      @HunterShawMusic 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry I replied to the wrong person. Meant to reply to DerekHartley. These do sound like samples though.

  • @RickWaughGuitarist

    Absolutely amazing play, but could really have used some dynamic changes/breaks in it. It was a bit unrelenting towards the end.

  • @kikoabdo
    @kikoabdo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Video editing was pretty bad. Camera changes every 3 sec all the time. Sometimes even less.
    But I loved the sound.

  • @PatrickChannonInPost
    @PatrickChannonInPost 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sick playing, there's something about the sound of the kit that really takes me out of it though, still awesome musicianship though

  • @ZoomRmc
    @ZoomRmc 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Either drums were sample replaced or they were mixed to sound like samples. Anyway it's awful. It is possible to mix sampled drums to sound good, so it's really a mixer's fault. Shame, because the song is really nice.

    • @DerekHartley
      @DerekHartley 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are real drums, you have issues.

    • @DanielJerrehian
      @DanielJerrehian 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's fairly well stated the drums are sampled and were later replaced in a program such as Drumagog or Slate Trigger. I prefer natural drums in this genre, adds more feel and Dynamics. I would love to hear this track without the samples

    • @HunterShawMusic
      @HunterShawMusic 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      DerekHartley Yes, samples of real drums.

  • @debrisbit
    @debrisbit 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the drums are a little over powering. Like there's just too much going on too much of the time. Some parts of the song are fine, but 50% of the song with speed fills is a little too much for my liking. Plus the kit doesn't sound very good. :/

  • @azler1205
    @azler1205 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I loved the music but uh, I think your drums is high. He seems just a tad too happy.
