Commenting on what you said about waiting for the day a pin stands back up you'd cry, i was working on the front 10 after never having 300 i rolled one in the pocket so perfect the 10 pin flipped off the curtain and stood up in the 6 pin spot.....i almost had a mental breakdown..... anyway lol. I like this ball
Nick, I once had a pin slide into the channel while upright, bounce off the wall and back into the channel, then settle back on the lane standing up - this occurred in game 1. In game 3 I had a pin richochet off the wall sideways but stand up spinning like crazy, eventually coming to a stop about 3 feet in front of the sweep and in front of the 3 pin. I didn't cry but came real close - two of the most unlucky breaks occurring on the same night. It happened nearly 50 years ago but I remembrer it like yesterday. Ugh!!!
About 40 years ago my dad had a pin come out of the pit on a strike, go through the sweep and stand up in the middle of the lane. 3 months ago I had the headpin hit the left wall and stand up where the 7 pin was. I normally video my practices but wasn't that time.
About a decade ago, I had a pin bounce out of the pit after a flush strike, only to dance and spin around across the pin deck and settle in on the 2-pin spot. On the outside, I was laughing in shock and disbelief…but internally, I wanted to fight somebody.
Nick, I don't know your capabilities when doing these reviews or if this has been mentioned before, but I think a lot of bowlers would like to see this. It would be awesome if you could do almost like a split review where you have a sport or challenge shot on another lane. The reason I mention this is because a few months ago, I bowled on a super flat sport pattern for the first time, and balls that were generally smooth and continuous on a house shot for me became super angular and violent. However, many people throwing weaker balls than what I was using such as the red Tundra Fire, NU Blue, and Endeavor where really successful. Your videos are super informative already, and they're basically the verdict when it comes to me choosing a new ball, especially since I throw a similar ballspeed and revrate to you. However, it would be very helpful to see how balls perform in vastly different environments in the reviews, and I would feel more informed in my decision making prior to buying a new ball. Thanks!
Nick, I just bought a Strike. Had proshop set cover at 2000. Wow! Strong ball on house. Exceptional value for the money. I put 4000 on with CTD Angular 6500. Going to roll it game 3 on Wednesday. We'll see?
Looking at my Scorpion Sting, Scorpion Hybrid and Scorpion LF wondering where this new Scorpion fits into my arsenal... I know my wallet doesn't need a new ball that doesn't do something really different from what I already own. Love the colors and am very curious about adding an HK22 into my collection but I may pass on this one. I am very happy with my Sting so I don't think I need a replacement for that. I do love those colors though. Hammer has some of the best looking balls on the market. My green smoke Web Pearl is beautiful and a very solid performer as well.
This ball lists for $145.00! Looks great. HK22, pearl, 1500, compound, nice big core. I’m looking for a new piece just because. And after seeing it in action, this could be it.
I love the Specto data, you can really see when the ball deflects by the pin deck numbers. I like to play a little straighter but when my 2.0 Hybrid gets too strong, I would rather change balls than move too far in (even though the BW can swing the lane). Actually on my local lanes the lower end plays at least an arrow left on the fresh, so I might be able to start with something like this down there...I love some HK-22!!
Thanks BrunsNick for another great review! Never considered any of the Scorpions but this one is definitely going on my list. Hopefully I can get it before going to nationals near the end of July.
Nick, I’m trying to finish off a 5-ball arsenal and need your opinion on the scorpion strike. I have the extreme envy, effect, and radioactive vine balls already in my new arsenal. I’m looking at the hazmat solid and the scorpion strike as my two possible symmetrical options. I’m a speed dominant player and I’m a lower rev player. Would the hazmat solid and scorpion strike be good to add or one over the other for my big symmetrical option? Need a little help getting this figured out
Good video, enjoyed watching oh well this one responds to little changes like that, unrelated note but i know y’all putting that HK22 base on everything and for some reason something popped into my noggin, what if y’all slapped the NU cover stock on the Gas Mask core? Don’t know if that might happen but hey i would definitely love to see how a ball like that reacts!
I want to get a new ball but cannot afford to have 5 different balls. Bowling with a Brunswick Method now and not a high rev bowler. Really like this ball and hope it will fit the bill for senior league. Thanks
I have the OG scorpion as my benchmark so this would fit right up next to it. But I am curious where and if this ball would fit into your arsenal Nick? btw keep up the good work on reviews and content!! Really happy to have started watching your channel 😃
Nick, Im looking for a ball to use after my lane shined phazeII and b4 my hustle M&M. Would this fit that spot in my bag? Would and artic vibe fit better, or do you have another suggestion? I'm a med speed, med rev bowler on house shots.
Great looking ball, thanks for the demo in multiple zones, I also loft the ball naturally, I have tried not to, but then my accuracy dropped, your demos are my favorite. 👍
Can someone please answer why bowlers blow in their thumb holes? I notice some do, some don't, some do it every shot, others it seems random. Im assuming its in case something gets in there, but that seems so far fetched to me.
Moisture from your breath makes the thumbhole tackier to give them a little more grip, to prevent the ball from slipping off their hand. I personally can't stand moisture getting in my...*ahem* hole. I try not to grip the ball too much with the thumb anyway.
@@steadfasttinsoldier5228 THANK YOU! Ive asked that question a dozen times and no one will answer (which I find odd) That makes sense but would drive me crazy. Im the same, any moisture and I have to back off, wipe my thumb off, wipe out the thumb hole etc. Personally, it drives me nuts hearing that sound every shot on these channels. Not so much on this channel, but others its just annoying. Maybe now that I know why it wont bug me. Thanks again.
Great review as always Nick. Do you think this ball will maintain its backend strength after it's seen some lane shine and then is sanded? On my Cuda Pearl after sanding it once it lost all backend strength and didn't get it back no matter what grit I used on it.
always love the reviews! You make them all look good lol.. Considering a new medium oil ball currently throw the Outer Limits Hybrid but sometimes would like a little more power so how does the Scorpion Strike compare with the Track Stealth hybrid and the Radical Outer Limits hybrid? Low speed (13mph) high track low-med rev 13lb ball senior adult... currently throwing Stealth for heavy oil, the Outer Limits for medium, and Nu Blue Hammer for light & spares... THANKS FOR YOUR VIEWS!
Hey Brunsnick, appreciate the review! I am curious on your thoughts on how the Scorpion Strike compares to the Radical Crypto Boom? I know the Crypto Boom is discontinued, but the core numbers are very similar on both balls and both have variations of HK22 pearl coverstocks. Any feedback you could provide on how they compare to each other is appreciated.
Effect pin down BW 3.0,2.0 solid , 2.0 hybrid, envy tour pearl. Thinking to get a weaker shiner sym for later game in league. Any thoughts and advices ? Appreciate
Nice video as always, what do you think about comparing this ball to ebonite fireball purple gold are they to similar balls? Or is it worth it to have both thanks
Scorpion Strike is a nice step up. More flare, more overall hook. Having both though? Depending on your rev rate and speed, the differences may be harder to see.
I take it back 😅 Your crown jewel pattern is different compared to the 2012 pattern in the pattern library drop box Thanks for adding that to the video
currently have a widow 3.0, scorpion, raw solid, kinetic black ice. do you think this ball could replace the black ice? i typically bowl on house shots but im venturing into more sport leagues/tournaments

Great video Nick! You the man!
spring of '22 I had two occasions in two different tournaments where pins stood back up. I took a few weeks off after that.
Sounds more than reasonable to me.
How does this compare to the low fare hammer released a while back
This is cleaner and more backend, the low flare is better playing straighter since it’s smoother.
