Oliver is rt not to lower the standard whether he likes them or not. He's got the rt attitude. Lovely photo with the Irish family Keep.up the good work!! xx
You should try a combi clamp for when you are drenching sheep. We have one and best bit of equipment we have. We do everything in ours. Drenching, tagging, dagging, feet.
Great video Sam, and so pleased for you on getting the right result. We have our vet coming next week for a full herd test, Not had one since 2020, Reet im off milking the cows, see you on the next one as ya say x
I think your lovely. Sam what ever you say to Oliver he's grumpy glad your tb free he'd be grumpy iff you had an outbreak of tb but your to nice to him and you seen to do all the donkey work
bring a stick with you at all times when dealing with cattle ..............that young bull showed you his head , not a good trait in a bull so young , .........not that a stick would save you in a full on charge but it might just fend off a half hearted attack , if u are anyway unsure of a bull , a one way trip to the factory is the only safe option ........bulls can be replaced , you cannot ...!
@georgedoorley5628 very true! But think he was just playing or didn't mean harm but yes a stick is always needed. If he ever charged he would of been long gone ! 100 percent
Hi Sam😊, enjoyed that, you were so right to comment on the rain, it's destroying the field's around here and winter hasn't started yet... To avoid the "You Tube" police, try saying 5H1T. . 5 H 1 T. . They can't pull you up for that 😂😂 take care
Well I’ll be dammed if olly isn’t letting his good side show! Your actually changing my mind on you 😁😁 now don’t go getting all swelled head the juries still out but I’m enjoying seeing this side of you 😂
Why are you choosing Oliver’s ram over yours for breeding to your sheep? also, those goats, always so inquisitive. Do you feed them anything different to the sheep?
Didn’t Nell do a cracking job rounding up those sheep. So fast! As for the bull, when he put his head down, was that a challenge or a sign of aggression? I know absolutely nothing about bulls. I think I have only seen one in the flesh in the show ring.
Great video. My question is at £28,000 you still only have lambs to sell which have a finite value in the market. All ewes will have a maximum number of lambs they can raise in a life time. How do you calculate that the £28,000 will equate to extra value in the lambs when sold to the meat trade? It must make sense but the extra value per lamb would need to be significant.
The £28,000 ram is to breed sons to sell to farmers lower down the breeding ladder and improve the buyers flock and reputation. 28 sons @ £1000 each and the cost is covered plus the daughters for further breeding

@@robertbirkett6652 cheers, I was looking at the end of the chain not necessarily the breeding element.
They will probably sale straws of his semen as well it’s a big market with the rich trying to breed the best ram just like horses
@@robthomas3968Not something that happens much with sheep ,especially hill breeds
I understand that a really good tup can multiply to upwards of £49-50,000
