    😁Thank you! When I find something that seems to works, I stick to it TO A FAULT. I become hesitant to change up my programming (why fix what isn’t broken 🙃). But…boredom and plateaus…so when I do change things up, I stress about leaving exercises from the previous program out, so I end up adding them into the new routine 😣 and risk overtraining.

    I'd love to try MAPS powerlift because I don't have the opportunity to properly train during my internship right now but afterwards I want to build as much strength as possible again! Great episode as always 💯

    Going through Anabolic for the first time with my new home gym setup and the strength gains are incredible. I can’t wait to see where things go from here! Thanks for everything you guys do!

    I got back into the gym beginning of December. Went way hard at the beginning but have been cutting down the volume and intensity over the last few months. On a split: legs, chest/triceps, back/biceps, and shoulders, with rest days after legs and shoulders. Gained 10 pounds in the first month and watched it drop back to 180 lbs but gained lots of strength and definition. I’m 6ft tall. Ready for a change and thinking about getting on maps anabolic Next week. Thoughts?

    I've seen studies that say anything over 9-12 sets per bodypart per day enters into "junk volume" territory, and that you need 48-72 hours recovery before you hit the body part again, so that's how I structure my workouts.

    • @bensonvong
      @bensonvong 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on your split, assuming you aren’t doing a bro split. So Full Body, Upper Lower, PPL , etc where you are doing 2-3x per body part. Even 9-12 sets per part per session is on the high end assuming decent intensity. Because the weekly volume is usually 12-20 so you are looking at 6-10 sets per workout. Of course, you can recover from higher volume but the gains are the same (ie 15 sets is same as 25 sets except you get more fatigue).

    Perfect timing. I’m digging myself out of overtraining. Barre, Pilates and yoga. Quite often two classes a day. Not progressing and feeling burnt out. Learning to slow down and lift heavy. Less is more. Thanks boys for all the great content. Just bought MAPS Anabolic. Looking forward to starting it soon 🙏🏼

      Same. I now am aiming for 3 days a week full body. 1 day of intense cardio. Then Walking. I was really over doing it before trying to go hard 6 days a week and was burnt out.

    This is good timing for me….i use to overtrain. I backed off all cardio, just light walking now so I get 14000:steps in every day. And taken my workouts from 6 days 3 lower, 2 upper, 1 full body with HITT; to 3 full body and maybe a focus day of shoulders and abs. Easy yoga everyday. My first week with this way of working out. Also eating about 2500 calories a day, about maintenance. I’m 5, 8” 145 lbs, and 57….im finding after going Hard, building for about 18 months, I just need a break and change things up a bit. I have never trained this way before, so I am just going to have to trust the process. 🙏☺️

    "What's Nvidia?"
    "It's the Ai stuff"
    -Yes and no. Nvidia is a Graphics Processor company, but they have been leaning heavily into Ai. Not the generative stuff, but more task specific, like upscaling gameplay to 4k, improving production methods etc.

    Outside of caffeine, I would challenge the guys to slip in some placebo to Sal’s routine and see how much of a difference he notices….vs his normal sups….sort of a 1 person study trail…..🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
    I would think LMNT during a workout wouldn’t be best due to the magnesium….i would think sodium alone would be better ?

    I created a 7 day split volume workout based on your 20 minutes per day video. For example, on Monday I do Deadlifts (4 sets), then two isolation body parts, triceps (4 sets), chest (4 sets) - Anyways, after two weeks of this split full body rotation. I was shocked when I was able to do 8 reps on squats with a weight I could previously only do 3 to 4 reps with. I'm still shocked. Thank you guys!

    Mind pump time...🎉💪 I've just finished my first week of pre phase anabolic. Feeling amazing, loving the trigger sessions.
    I was just doing basic lifts before ( only been lifting 6 months ) but think I was doing too much & not following a good program, as always felt beat up. This week I've felt more energetic.
    Keep up the amazing content 😊

    Hi guy’s! When you weight training x3 a week, walking 1h per day and calories deficiency of 600 per day. I eat 2g protein per goal weight. I moniteur what I eat everyday. I am gaining muscle (O,5%) but my fat % is not moving. Seriously, I am practicing exactly what you are saying. You did say it is hard and long. It’s only been two weeks. I am staying consistent but it’s really annoying. How long before it starts to go down? Thanks

    Personally i love training and i am currently doing upper/lower split 6 days/week. I am doing 10 sets/muscle/week, i am not sore, just a day after my training so i think i'm killing it right. All thanks to you guys. Bur at this moment i couldn't do 3 days/week full body.

    I really struggle with this, high volume is totally mental for me, I am a runner and started weight training about a year ago. I was running 9 miles a day, walking 10,000 steps and weight training 4 days a week.. I did cut back my running to 6 miles, I want to do 3 full body weight training workouts a week but I struggle with doing less exercises for each body part.. I think about trying MAPS Anabolic but I don't think I can only do one exercise per body part a day.

  • @tymarmaras
    @tymarmaras 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Same here. I’ve been training for some time now (20+ years)but going hard for the last 6 months. My last three sessions I can’t lift the same weight. Lighter weights feel heavy, I’m tired, even thinking about working out makes me wince. Tennis elbow both elbows and shoulder is killing me. Decided to just stop and take a week off.

  • @CptApplestrudl
    @CptApplestrudl 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    - Coincidentally I have just finished a deload week. Let's see if it did anything, but it was certainly relaxing than the usual regiment.
    - Nutrient deficiency is likely more of a topic in the US than EU. Overall I am still waiting for scientific proof on gut health. There seems to be something there but whenever something works for one person and not the other, it's clear that there is more to figure out.
    -testosterone: Isnt it weird how sleeping and meditation helps increase T? (That and the stuff he takes.)
    -EVs: While I am all for clean engines, the current batteries are not wowing me. Heavy, terrible on recycling, fire hazard, recharge time...

  • @lauriesafdie5025
    @lauriesafdie5025 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Same trajectory for me too. Couldn't get past multiple soreness days and realized I've been overtraining big time. Decided to reduce intensity to about 60% and slowed down movements with 5 reps per set instead of ten. Hoping this week and next for better recovery so I can get stronger.

  • @bobbielynn_10
    @bobbielynn_10 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There you go again. Why do you guys insist on spelling out LMNT instead of pronouncing it the way the company intends, which is as “element?”

  • @harshhell4185
    @harshhell4185 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’m 42 and am still figuring this out. Read too many studies that state training a body part twice per week is better. After 3 months of doing this my lifts are getting stronger but only on the first session. If I do bicep/tricep on Monday for example I’m increasing reps or load, but come Thursday I can see regression, never the same or better. Previously I was hitting a body part once per week and was seeing the same results. Seems a bit of a waste doing more if not needed and seeing no better results. I’m natural also never taken anything whatsoever.

    Thanks guys! I really needed to hear this! I was a competitive powerlifter in college and felt I could go max intensity all the time without ill effect. -Well, except that time I actually felt ill for two days after a big deadlift workout. Twenty years and a broken patella later, I got back in the gym last fall. After months of trying to write my programs without the assistance of a coach and plateauing or regressing again and again, I finally checked my ego (just a bit) and got MAPS Anabolic. I’m now using the pre-phase workouts and light weight to recover from another bout of overtraining. I’m getting more benefit from body weight lunges than I ever thought possible.

    I have been training for twenty five years and adding weight, leaning down... yo-yoing... but the last few years, I cannot lean back down... and you guys really opened my eyes back to the things I saw work when I was twenty..
    Since listening to you, I've reversed dieted, lifting for strength again with long rests, and quit all my cardio.. (other than I jog my building's stairs for two songs after meals)
    The results the last month have been nothing short of FANTASTIC! I finally feel back in control, and have tons of energy and my sleep is insane...
    I'm now planning on buying Anabolic Plus as soon as I hit a plateau...
    Thanks again guys... honestly!!!! it is amazing how brainwashed we've become about circuit training, fasting, and activity.... even as former trainer... You guys ROCK!!! I have been telling everyone at my gym about you guys

    It's interesting because I recently went down to full body 3 days a week, instead of having two upper and two lower days where one is strength and the other was impulse.
    I'm still doing certain things that I have already been including where I'm doing something with my legs and shoulder girdle everyday, for instance, I'm currently doing things with the log bar where one day (if you've never done squats with the bar in your elbow, or struggle with front squats, imagine doing those with a log bar haha) I will focus more on the pressing, the second full body day I'm doing stuff with a barbell very similar with the cleans presses&squats, reducing the pressing volume while adding in more kettlebells high pulls and clubbell pullover doubles, plus weighted pullups (Or rowing), and as for Sundays, Sundays still remains as leg day (nordic hamstring curls, squats, single leg work, with some upper body added in. Not only did it give me one more free day for rotational work, where those steel clubs really come in handy.
    I've just starting this and I'm already closing in on two different PRs 😅

    @mindpump How do you know when you are overtraining?

    • @willygoat4113
      @willygoat4113 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      1 sign is that you’re not progressively getting stronger or able to add reps/weight to your sets. Another sign is that you’re still sore in the muscle group you’re training. Less obvious signs are poor sleep quality, irritability, and lack of energy/focus. If you take a reload week and you feel like a new human, you were probably over training.
