Great place to visit. I was there in 1990 and it was just the high rise casinos. The gondola is a game changer.
I love South Lake Tahoe. Been there the last two years just not in the winter. I believe the casinos are on the other side of the state line, not on the California side since the town is partially divided. Something to do all times of the year and a ver short drive to the desolation wilderness (or what’s left of it)

In college I had a season pass to Heavenly every year. I used to sleep in my Volvo station wagon in the Harvey's Casino parking structure and do laundry in the casino. I'd often watch a cheap movie at the Horizon (now Hard Rock). Very easy to get by on the super-cheap in that city if one is so inclined. You can also spend as much money as you want for insane luxury. Definitely a town that offers a little of everything.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Tahoe this march. How is the weather in march? And those nachos looked really good. 💓🙂

We lived in Tahoe when this was filmed, but have stayed at the Mellow Mountain Hostel in the past.
