Most CR fans reacted to this show right as each batch of episodes aired. I love seeing people discover it for the first time, but it's great to still get some Critters out here reacting to it! This show is so good and is such a fantastic recreation of the campaign without being a direct one to one translation. It only gets better from here and I'm looking forward to seeing your reactions to the rest of it.

As a fellow Kraghammer baby, I love seeing others’ reactions. I also really do love going back later to count up Easter eggs, and figuring out the results of the die rolls 😂
as a Percy fan, you're in for a fun ride, since this season is the Briarwoods arc from here on out.
getting David Tennant to play Krieg was unbelievable, and yeah, that was Khary (Shakäste) Payton as Uriel. And Felicia Day shows up twice in episode two, as the Captain and one of the bandits.
Editing episodes 3 and 4 now and it is definitely shaping up to be amazing!

The making of series they did before season 1 released was really good. They go over a lot of behind the scenes art, production, and my favorite is the VO. Short interviews with a lot of the actors and watching them nerd out over who they got
I'll be sure to check those out in the RNR!
I've got to say, the intro is absolutely worth watching multiple times. As someone who also loved the campaign, the intro is extremely well done, and there is always more to it than you previously thought. It's great to pick up on little (and big) things as time passes.

Yep, episodes 1 and 2 are pre-stream adventures
The first 2 episodes was the original kickstarter. Their goal was to raise $750k in 45 days to make 2 episodes of their first dragon fight from the home game. They crossed $3 million the first day and ended up at 11.7 million (Kickstarter record at the time). They legally had to do these first two episodes because it was was promised on day 1 of the Kickstarter. They decided to do the Briarwood arc with the rest of the money. Ironically, they went to Kickstarter because no one (Amazon, Netflix, etc) thought a VM cartoon was worth the money. Setting the record changed everyone's mind. Amazon had to outbid others to get the show. Worked out - season 1 was the number one show on Amazon prime for 11 weeks (not consecutive).
That is utter insanity 😂 (I knew a little about this but not the full picture) Supportive is putting it lightly. But it’s no surprise to me that Amazon etc didn’t think it would be a hit, they tend to be blind to what people *actually* want to see.

HECK YES! I LOVE to find another reactor to this series! I was also a 2020 CR baby, but it became something that meant so much to me.
(Waffling follows because apparently I have FEELS today. Might just be because I'm wishing I could be at the London liveshow. :p)
It genuinely kept me from falling into a very dark mental space, and it's not melodramatic to say it saved my life. Watching the progression from the first episode of C1 to the (at the time of the lockdowns, most recent) C2 episode, where I could finally watch the weekly streams, was just pure delight. My schedule was basically "watch CR, eat, sleep" rinse repeat. I grew so fond of all of these strangers, their silly interactions outside of the game at the table, the characters with such varied inner worlds, their deep and layered actions and reactions, and the world of Exandria itself. It reignited a love for TTRPGs that I had briefly found years earlier, but had fallen out of due to life circumstances, and it encouraged me to try DMing myself, whic is genuinely one of the best things I have EVER done, and I include years of university and other study here.
Watching them all progress from C1 to the Vox Machina kickstarter in "fast forward" so to speak (not because I watched it at 2x speed, I didn't because I didn't even realise that was an option *headdesk * but because it was all I was doing for like 4 months) was wonderful, because it felt like it was barely any time between the first run of 100 (iirc?) t-shirts selling out before they could take a breath ("We didn't even finish TELLING you people!" Episode 7, Taliesin) and the disbelief of the Kickstarter being funded within 12 hours (plus SO much extra).
ANYWAY, point is, yay new reaction! And especially YAY new reaction from a critter who has seen the campaign but not the animated series!? RARE! :D
I've run out of reaction videos! Pretty sure I have watched actually every reaction that exists (TH-cam algorithm notwithstanding, it still hides things from me) My ADHD autistic ass needs a hobby, and right now it's watching reaction videos to this show. LOOK, it's a thing, bit also Congrats, you're in my Special Interest Zone :p
But ALSO, You have great, insightful comments, and I enjoy watching a reaction that actually gets the jokes. So many don't.

Wow! It's awesome you discovered CR when you did and it was able to have such a positive impact on you! I was on a similar schedule myself, it was great to see how the show transformed, and the insane community support. ( I didn't watch in fast forward either because I didn't want to miss any moments, even if they were timestamped by Flando, it was all about the context for me!) Happy to have you here for the reactions and glad you enjoyed this one!

The other big C2 Easter Egg was the stuffed red Weasel in Gilmore's.
As people have mentioned Ep 1 and 2 were pre-stream games. They completely skip Kraghammer, likely for a couple reasons, one of which including a certain dragonborn
That's kind of sad, I really enjoyed the Kraghammer bit with Clarota and K'Varn but definitely understandable.
Remember, Vex is a Ranger. She has Favored Enemy and chose dragons. With a little tweaking it becomes a useful plot device in the adaptation.
This thing is full of very clever exposition, foreshadowing, and payoffs, without force-feeding. Can't wait for you to see the rest, it works better than we dared hope.

these two episodes they spoke about them in some interviews about the prestream stuff and its so nice to see it now
i think all we heared about krieg in the campaign was that they moved to his house on a later date again to check or something
Definitely awesome to see the pre stream stuff played out! You may be right, I remembered his name being mentioned and correlated to a blue dragon somehow maybe when they were talking about Raishan’s forms or something like that.
The animators of the C2 intro (Kamille and Kevin Areopagita) didn't work on this, alas. It was produced byTitmouse! (and Amazon)
"The Story of Vox Machina" might still be found on Geek and Sundry's channel. though G&S proper has shut down. th-cam.com/video/kKixWUIgmKA/w-d-xo.html is a version with better subtitles. They made it to cover their pre-stream adventures. This is adapted from a part of that. The first two episodes is thus a new, but canon adventure. While the rest of season one is adapted from like episodes 24+28-25 or so? They changed up the order of some things, so very rough estimate on the episodes.

Yours is the first reaction to the series I've watched and I'm glad the algorithm suggested this vid to me lol. I also started in 2020 from C1 and am all up-to-date now so I feel like you'll have a very similar perspective on the series to mine.

Your editing was so entertaining! The kids in this one was Liam's daughter and Sam's son. Sam's daughter is in it a little later on.

I believe that came about mostly because of the pandemic. The cast could no longer work together in the studio and had to record separately at home. Apparently this led to some "Mommy, why is dad screaming and yelling in the closet" kind of moments, which got the kids interested in their parents' work.
Ah yes, Scanlan urinating on NPC Matt's boots is great every time.
Elements of the first two episodes were from the pre-stream adventures.
They did mix computer generated models in some places where the character models or animation was very large and would have cost them more money to animate it the rest of the way they were animating everything else. They said in an interview they could have done it but chose to go the cheaper animation routes in these spots especially in the first two episodes so that they could spread their budget out to do some other cool things later in the season.
Season 2 they have an even better budget and it looks amazing!
Have fun reliving and seeing the changes they make it even keeps people who have been watching from the beginning on their toes :D

Are you purposefully editing out all music? It's very off putting. I didn't realize how big of a part it plays in the show until now.
Yes, unfortunately videos tend to get blocked more with music. I tried to include as much as possible and will try to keep as much as possible in, in the next one!
