Drake has been many characters even a priest and he's been Roman. I did recently notice he lost weight but I never thought. Yes Days has suffered three terrible loses and WOW how are we going to take the ladies with other men my goodness Maggie had started liking the Crook and she moved to Victor after her husband died. But Julie and Marlena man who can stand up to these loses. Writers you will have to become even more creative.

I had no idea he was sick. Haven't watched Days in years, but Drake's portrayal of both Roman and John respectively helped made Days fun. My favorite storylines with him involved were the Marlena possession storyline and the Kristen Blake saga of the 90s. Condolences to his family and Days family, and may he rest in forever power. Try not to beat Joseph Mascolo in a game of chess.

He was the star and glue of that show. The adventures he would go on to save Marlena and anybody else on that show was legendary. Sad to think he's now with other legendary actors who have passed from that show. Especially Joseph who played Stefano Dimera and John Aniston who played Victor Kiriakis. Very sad. I had to text my mom to tell her lastnight. She’s 72 and started watching Days when she was a teen and still watches faithfully today. So I didn’t have a choice, I grew up watching it since before I could walk, with her. When I was in high school, 90-94 me and my girlfriends use to skip out of school to watch it. The best when Marlena was possessed. Drake was a gorgeous man, great actor and he’ll be forever missed. What a loss to the show, what a legacy. Condolences to his family, friends, cast and fans. I got to meet Drake when my friends and I were blessed to be invited as extras for Jack and Jennifer’s wedding held at Universal studios. He was one of the nicest actors I’ve ever met and I’ve met a LOT of actors over the years. You are truly a legend Drake and this world will be poorer without you in it.

I remember watching Days of our lives as a kids ( my nanna looked after us so you had to watch her stories ), I remember when the John Black character got together with Marlena & I hated them for it cause it was always Roman & Marlena for me !
Drake Hogestyn brought strength and sensitivity to John Black. Some people would say soap operas are campy but for me, it was the intrigue and lore. There is always a twin, amnesia, or coming back from the dead. Drake brought such heart and how his character loved Marlena made you feel that love was possible. He was a handsome man and actor who will be missed.

I used to watch Days Of Our Lives all the time. John Black was a beloved character and was always a hero for on screen wife Marlena. He seemed like such a nice man on and off screen. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. R.I.P. 😥💜🌺🙏🏽🕊

I got to meet Drake when my friends and I were blessed to be invited as extras for Jack and Jennifer’s wedding held at Universal studios. He was one of the nicest actors I’ve ever met and I’ve met a LOT of actors over the years. You are truly a legend Drake and this world will be poorer without you in it.

In recent episodes, he looked rather thin and frail to me. I wondered if he might be ill, but I had no idea he had cancer. This is heartbreaking. Days won't be the same.

Anybody who's familiar with daytime soap operas most likely knows who this man was! He was a very good actor who had a very successful career in a business that consists of fierce competition and constant unemployment! Rest in peace Drake Hogestyn! 💯⭐
He also played pro baseball and was pursuing that route when he tried acting; he indeed found greater success in acting. RIP Drake😭. We'll miss you.

John Black was my favourite character on Days. I was first introduced to Days of our Lives through the Pawn storyline on an old VHS tape my grandmother had and I watched it with her. His character and storyline immediately grabbed my attention and from then on I was hooked on Days.

I remember watching Days of our lives as a kids ( my nanna looked after us so you had to watch her stories ), I remember when the John Black character got together with Marlena & I hated them for it cause it was always Roman & Marlena for me !

Drake Hogestyn brought strength and sensitivity to John Black. Some people would say soap operas are campy but for me, it was the intrigue and lore. There is always a twin, amnesia, or coming back from the dead. Drake brought such heart and how his character loved Marlena made you feel that love was possible. He was a handsome man and actor who will be missed.
I was so shocked and heart broken to see the news on his passing. I have been watching him since he joined Days of Our Lives. Such a great loss. He will be greatly missed!!

I was so shocked to hear this that my son thought someone in our lives died. I was lucky to meet him when I was a teenager and that will always be one of my best memories. I cant imagine how they will write this in the storyline. Love to the Hogestyn Family.
