There is no right of way .. There is only a stand on vessel and a give way vessel .. Even then, the stand on vessel must also give way if there is a risk of collision.
True, but the title of Part 2 Section A is “Right of Way”. Rule 15 discusses acquiring Right of Way. While it might not be a defined term, the term Right of Way is easy for new sailors and racers to understand. For new racers the concept of who is allowed to sail straight and who needs to avoid can be thought of as Right of Way. As always, No Collisions is the most important rule.
I finally understand thanks to your excellent, concise, and clear presentation. Thank you!
Love the pace of the video and descriptions.
There is no right of way, there is give way and stand on but above all avoid a collision.
Excellent example. Very well explained and demonstrated (demonstrative 🤣) Nice Job, truly appreciate it
Excelente explicación. Los ejemplos son muy didácticos. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
A great lesson with examples. Thanks.
Thanks so much! Does anybody know what kind of boats are shown at 3:55?
Those are 420s, very fun boats to race!
Fantastic! Used to race sailboats & folks would prefer to smash into you than admit they were incorrect on 'right of way' rules. LOL
I agree with the music , I turned it off, far too loud.
Good lesson, but why the music?
The term “right of way” does not appear in the rules. It implies that if you have the right of way, you can carry on regardless which is not the case.
