not that it would improve sales but MISSED opportunity from Capcom to not do crossovers with this game eg have us team up with the actual Amaterasu to take down Okami villians Have us team up with characters from Sengoku Basara Have us fight unique bosses like Bishumon from Darkstalkers or Soki from Onimusha Capcom in a sense squandered the potential of this game.
Sometimes the games we like don't always connect with the broader audience. One of the reason casual gamers are important because they push sales numbers. For your sake I hope they give the game a second chance with a sequal.
I believe it was because of the marketing and it was a new IP that was overshadowed by some of Capcom's later releases. I know that this was likely targeted for a more niche audience specifically SRPG fans but even games like Unicorn Overlord was able to crack a million units so that audience definitely does exist. However, I feel this is one of those cases where because people either didn't know what it is or simply shrugged it off as a AA game which resulted in the lackluster sales.
Decent game, the issue for me is the same for every title out there: Price. For the past decade or so, prices of new games are just absurd, specially in my country.
I remember when I first saw this game, and being blown away by the art. I honestly forgot about it. I’ll be getting this game now. But I don’t know whether to get it on pc or ps5.
It’s a beautiful game! I highly recommend it it! It’s on sale for PC right now, I just made a video about it on my Capcom sales, go check that out o get a good deal
I was interested right from the start, my only problem is the pricetag. I live in a 3rd world country and for us +30 USD is too much for video games. Me and my friends who love JRPGs usually have to wait for at least 50% sale even if we have to wait 2-3 years before playing. Can't help financially but I could leave a comment and like video to improve the algorithm somewhat 👍
Thank you so much for your contribution! I definitely understand! Hopefully it goes on a big sale to help push a few units! Appreciate you watching fam
I thought they sold like half a million in the first 2 weeks which is why they put out the behind the scenes videos they did to celebrate. (Highly reccomend to watch those videos btw) The setting and locale are all hand made irl, as in actual dioramas hand painted and everything which they then scan in which is why it looks so good. The fire effects, also literly just straight up real fire they just photo capture. So much passion went into making this game but it wasn't call of duty number 500 which is why people don't fw it. People complain for new but only consume the same. crazy. I hope we get dlc, or a sequel in the future. I also wish we had a procedural generated endless mode but overall a great game.
Unfortunately that was just players playing the game. Not actual sales. The game was also released on game pass which inflated the player base number a bit
Nope... It's was players... If people who brought veilguard and star wars outlaws brought this, it would Atleast be respectful..... It's an action tower defense game and has best boss design.... Remember, kena bridge of spirits? That game for sell too.. This kinda proves ubisoft point....
Glad you are shouting out this game. I tried the demo previously and it did not work for me. Mostly because I found my subordinates unbearably hard to control and rather useless. However, I am glad Capcom made the attempt and I might as well play the full game at some point just because of the novelty. I have mixed feelings. On one side I loved the uniqueness and liked the overall structure, on the other - I did not really like how it played.
This game reminds me of Otogi one of fromsoft older games on the Xbox but It’s a day one gamepass game so that might have hurt sales a bit as a result plus I thought it’s was a bit overpriced for 60 dollars as a non game pass user I wouldn’t have gotten the game if it wasn’t on sale
@kali-qgames1301 Everything is going good man, been playing Metaphor Refantazio one of the best games I've played in a long time. Almost at the end. Then I'll finish off Steller Blade.
I think part of the reason why it isn't selling as much it's because it was available on Game Pass from Day One. That is something to account for, and I hope Capcom is very aware of it. Tons of people played and loved the game, it was massively appreciated from reviewers and players, I just hope it's enough to fund DLCs and Sequels. Definitely one of my favorite games of the latest years!
For a fact fam! I will always do my best to use my channel for good and positivity! We all talk a good game but barely spew positive stuff about the stuff we love! Thanks for watching
I hope Microsoft gave them enough money to offset putting it on GamePass. I agree the pre- release coverage was lacking. I just feel this game's target audience overlaps heavily with people with Gamepass subscriptions. It's just not my genre. Maybe if there were cooler cosmetics.
It's just not putting itself out there, this is the first video i've seen about this game, i only know of it's existence because of scrolling through the store looking at other games, the devs need to give out free copies to youtubers so We know of it.
This was the year of bangers not selling well. FF7Rebirth sold ~3 million. Stellar Blade sold ~1 million. We will see but it looks like Metaphor is going to sell less than 2 million. Astrobot is going to be about 1-2 million. Warhammer 40k sold ~2 million. Actual high quality fun games just aren't being bought. Especially single player games. With Dragon's Dogma 2, Palworld, Blackmth, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth being the only games this year that will be in the top 20 of games sold this year (yes Circana shows Persona 3 but it doesn't show blackmyth or palworld which sold well so it should be 22nd at best). The page has turned on single player games mostly.
@@jiggerypokery2962 most of these games are at 70 dollars or above these are prices not most JRPGs are used to plus some of them are ps exclusives only
So what the name of the dam game 😂 cause this vid is doing a good job of promoting it with out even mentioning it that should have been the 1st thing this vid should have done.

That's why it felt familiar to me. It had elements of Okami in it. I LOVED that game.
Yes, I’m telling you! This game is quite a treat! And honestly it’s suffering the same fate sales wise as Okami right now too. I highly recommend it!
Sometimes the games we like don't always connect with the broader audience. One of the reason casual gamers are important because they push sales numbers. For your sake I hope they give the game a second chance with a sequal.
Absolutely facts! I agree with you on this Pharos!, Hope you have been well!
They didn't market this game AT ALL.
It's quite a shame! Im doing my best to get the word out! It's a tremendous title! Thanks for watching
I love Kunitsu-Gami, in my second playthrough. Happy to see it nominated for best sim/strategy game.
Me too! I’m definitely voting for it! It deserves so much more exposure!

I can't blame you for that! Hopefully it goes on a big black Friday sale to push a few units!
1. its on gamepass
2. for jrpg audience, trails through daybreak released on same month
3. the genre is very nieche even for jrpg lovers

I didn't even know this game came out. I'm usually in the know about games like this coming out, however this one escaped me.
Wow that's crazy! I'm glad my video help shed some light on it! Thanks for watching fam!
are they even marketing it? I don’t remember seeing any ads before during or after release and I’m on TH-cam and Twitter I mean X everyday
I think I have been doing my best to market it, but the promotion was pretty low for this title! Really sad because it's a great game!
The tower defense turns me away. If it was just an action game I would've definitely given it a try
I can respect this answer! I can totally understand

I was just waiting on a physical copy to be released.
I hope it does better, I haven't played it yet but it looks so unique.

I can see the price point is a huge turn off for some people!
I'm just waiting for a physical version. That seems to be hurting some games lately.
That could definitely be the case! I would definitely buy a physical copy as well
I definitely wanted to buy this game, but I just didn't have the time to play it. I'll purchase it some time during black friday
That would be a great time too a
I think! Good idea! How has everything been for you?

I am sorry, Is this Okami 2?..,I hope It will gain more attention in the future...
I know, it feels like an okami situation all over again...
It had an Okami collaboration! So definitely something they know they were doing.
Mhm very interesting! Great video btw!
its crazy its not performing well i thought it was great and innovative
I know brother, it’s such a shame. I truly love this game! One of my favorites of the whole year

I agree with you on this honestly!
Hey it sold more than Star Wars Outlaw on Steam
There is no physical release of this game. I think that would help.
I for one would have definitely bought it again if it was physical! But yeah no physical definitely hurts the game
It's just not putting itself out there, this is the first video i've seen about this game, i only know of it's existence because of scrolling through the store looking at other games, the devs need to give out free copies to youtubers so We know of it.
Capcom isn’t marketting this game right. It appeals to RTS players as much as hack and slash/onimusha type players.
Capcom doesn’t know how to do marketing obviously!
I know and it sucks, because this darn game is amazing! But no one truly knows about it

Kunitsu Gami: Path Of the Goddess. 🤔
