I didn't know this RV was still around. Thought it would have been dismantled or destroyed by now. I am glad that this iconic vehicle is being restored.
In 1996 I went on a tram tour of Universal and all of the tv/movie vehicles were left out to rot. There were Magnum PI's, Columbo's(?) cars and many others. They were sun bleached and looking horrible. I am sure that there were duplicates somewhere, however these did not even have structures over them and was very disappointing. But I digress...😉
I am extremely surprised that the original props that were use in these great films have been basically rusting away on some lot. I'm so that these people are trying to restore this awesome vehicle that was used ind one of my favorite films. Thank you so much.
Diego Moreno Person who bought it at first got a deal on it for $15k or something. A person in Japan however bought it and is being shipped overseas. :(
Ohh sweet! Found this out through Wikipedia. Man I'm so happy it's taken good care off. I was already scared that it would have gone to hell like many of the jurassic park decors like the Jurassic Park 2 and 3 Ingen compound decor that has collapsed due to bad maintenance. As a Dutch guy I've always been in love with the Jurassic park movies and a couple weeks ago I bought up a poor maintained JP Pinball machine, fixed it to working condition. My next goal will be me buying a jeep wrangler and remake it to Nedry's jeep. Gonna document that too.
I love unique restoration projects like this...though I must confess 1) Jurassic Park was made just yesterday, and 2) I didn't even know there was a 2nd movie.
I've ACTUALLY been in one of the actuall RV's used in the movie. When I was kid me, my brother and my parents went to an RV dealer In Minnesota(were I live, born and raised) and they had one of the actuall RV's used in the movie on desplay and open to the public! unfortinatly It was striped of most of the tech and gagets featured in the movie but it was still really cool. It too like the one in this video had the ford chassis.
That RV ended up at the Hayes Truck Museum in Woodland California. I think it was around 2003. It was pretty cool being inside it. Most of the electronics were gone. Where is it now?
I don’t care how there going to pull it off with that RV , but whether if they have a low budget.... Good luck with it , there going to need it with all that hard work.
I see a Space Mountain ride vehicle on 1:55. A Disney WORLD one. Not Disney LAND. because it is single file rather than double seater. It appears that way anyway. I could be wrong about it being Disney WORLD.
Spanky McBean Well here in the UK you'd need a HGV(now LGV) licence, as for speed limits the same as a car and caravan (or travel trailer in the US). Even more interestingly, if you can dump enough to get it's unladen weight below about 3000KG (forget the exact amount), when not towing car limits would apply. But it's all theory, in practice it's towing limit is probably no more than 5,000lb (my 1995 Damon Challenger is only 3,500 lb, less than 2 tonnes). In reality, even in the US the trailer is probably illegal, or borderline completely empty.
I work on RV’s every day, pretty glad I don’t have to get that deep into them very often. And when I do have to get that deep into interior it’s a new RV with bad water damage, so still easier than working with old rotted crap. Plus I’m in a shop that has every tool and materials I need. Better yet, I get paid to do it vs paying out of my pocket!
At about 47:30 into the movie where Ian Malcolm reenters the RV and powers up the overhead lights and radio gear, you hear what sounds like a jet turbine generator starting up. Please tell me it has one and it wasn't just a sound effect. If it does, can I have it for my RV? Only joking...
I didn't know this RV was still around. Thought it would have been dismantled or destroyed by now. I am glad that this iconic vehicle is being restored.
And here was I thinking Universal would keep this stuff save in a garage to preserve it for future generations.
there is one other RV from the movie sitting on the backlot tour in Los Angeles
Did they build multiple RV's for the film?
Bastion Monk yep. I think there were three in total.
It wasn’t that good though.

TH-cam just Recommended this to me, AWESOME.
They guy who owns this plans on living in it? Mate, props to him. If I could live in a DeLorean time machine, I would lol
Jurassic Productions the guy who baught this probably paid a fortune for this, i thought it would be a millionaire and he wants it to leave in it😂😂
Diego Moreno Person who bought it at first got a deal on it for $15k or something. A person in Japan however bought it and is being shipped overseas. :(
Jurassic Park is one the Best movies ever made!

Now how can i acquire one of those lexus' they drove in the film??
is that the raptor cage that was for sale on eBay awhile ago ?
Wow nice find ya take it and fix it up better than it just wasting away
I see a Space Mountain ride vehicle on 1:55. A Disney WORLD one. Not Disney LAND. because it is single file rather than double seater. It appears that way anyway. I could be wrong about it being Disney WORLD.
So...did Universal Studios sell this one, or is the one at the studio a replica?
That sat in woodland ca for ever, in my home town
0:41
huh... that's really interesting cause that's an Australian Army hoochie tied to the tire meaning it must have been to Australia at some point
I think it's an other one but it is the original for the film
I'm so excitid
How much do you think it would cost to upgrade that RV to what it once was in 1997 ???
how long is this thing? i need to know it.
How much you want for that raptor cage?
I LOVE TO HAVE the research trailers
I seen it when it was rotting away at universal studios in Florida... it was in rough shape even then
pretty awesome!
What did Ari say after he got the battery out?
I like the grabbing Greetings from Mexico
How street legal is it with the trailer? Any special licensing or anything?

What ıs brand and model pls
i think its a 1997 ford fleetwood but i may be wrong.
why didnt universal preserve it?
Sempre pensei que esse trailer não existisse na vida real, mas pelo contrário ele existe
I remember this was up for action... I missed the bid by 20 minutes dammit!
Good thing about something being broken is it can be fixed
Life finds a way.
How the hell did you get ahold of this stuff...? I assume you either know someone, have a ton of money, or both
What ever became of this project?
My God the raptor box.
I remember at the movie scene where they got attacked by mama and papa T-rex 🐊
I saw this listing!
