The Dallas Mavericks are having one of the best NBA offseasons by any team. After making the NBA finals, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are getting another co-star in Klay Thompson, who the Mavs acquired through a sign and trade deal with the Golden State Warriors. Klay might not be the same all-star level player he once was, but he could be a solid starter next to Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, and Dereck Lively. The offseason has been productive for the Mavs as they also acquired two-way players Quentin Grimes and Naji Marshall, as well as the returning Spencer Dinwiddie. After losing to the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals, Luka Doncic might have the team he needs to win a championship.
2K25 NBA Summer League is already done but the NBA offseason is still continuing. The Dallas Mavericks used up their final roster spot to bring back Spencer Dinwiddie, in an attempt to further strengthen Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irvings supporting cast. Nico Harrison has done a great job of assembling a great team that made it back to the Nba finals. The Mavs traded for Pj Washington and Daniel Gafford during the trade deadline, and they re-signed Kyrie Irving last summer. But is this Mavericks team good enough to top the Western Conference once again?
Will Klay Thompson be the missing piece that could give the Dallas Mavericks another NBA title? Can the Mavs once again beat the likes of Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the OKC Thunder, or Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets? Or will the Mavs big three of Luka, Kyrie, and Klay Thompson be able to beat the Boston Celtics next season? How will Klay Thompson fit in Dallas and how will Jason Kidd utilize his skills with this team?
