- This video is dedicated to the Romanov family who were the Imperial Family of Russia. Though Tsar Nicholas II made many mistakes causing the great struggle in Russia, it wasn't right to take the lives of innocent children including Anastasia, Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Alexei . If we've learned anything from them, it would be the importance of family.
One of the best love story ever captured on animation. Just to let you guys know, Anastasia is a 20th Century Fox film and was not produced by Disney. I focused on the love theme between Anya and Dimitri who never planned on falling in love with each other. Personally I think that they are one of the cutest couples ever!! I got the concept of the intro of this clip from the credits of the film, I hope you guys enjoy it!!
This song is so dreamy and always reminds me of Anya & Dimitri's first meeting in the old palace, their bickerings, their first dance, their first kiss. I love how the song really fits their journey

It's sad none of the Romanov siblings came out alive 😰 Their father was a mischievous ruler, but these siblings didn't even know how to buy things since they were practically always within the gates of their palace. I would've considered them to be very innocent about the cruelty that the people were experiencing outside the gates.

is it just me who think that the whole plot would be better without the villian? I mean its an amazing an touching storry anyway, but the villian is more or less plot irrelevant. of course he is propaly responsible for the death of her family and the seperation from her grandmother but despite this there isnt much he contributes to the storry. For the actual conflict in this film he is realy not nessesary. (in my oppinion)
For me they could have cut him out after the revolution and fill the (now) empty spots with more screentime for Dimitri and Anastasia, for a little bit slower developement.
Kevin Steinbrink Well, one could make that argument for Rasputin doing that, but at the same time, you could also say that those parts are essential to understand how the movie works. Also, he creates obstacles for the 2 of them to bond over, with crashing trains and nearly drowning and what have you. And you could also say that it took both of them almost dying at Rasputin's hands to finally fess up and admit their feelings fully. Or, you could say that he was an executive necessity, as younger kids aren't as interested in a love story without an awesome villain to go with it. Or you could say that this is just a symptom of disney imitator syndrome, where Rasputin is kind of in a Jafar role of being the evil sorcerer who's opposing the couple, fighting to take out 1 of them for his own vendetta.
I'm not saying you don't have a point, but it's just different ways of looking at rasputin.
it's a little bit ironic to say that he is 'more or less plot irrelevant' and then go and mention how the whole story only even exists because of him haha
on top of that, rasputin was a real historical figure, even thought to be a sorcerer by some, completely ignoring him in a story about the tsar family would be off
