  • In this Gecko Tip Tuesday video, we will help show you how to make your very own Crested Gecko Humid Hide or Lay Box from breeding Crested Geckos or Gargoyle Geckos. This is a great solution for any New Caledonian Gecko that is having shedding issues, or if you have a female Gecko laying eggs. Trust me, I've tried many different alternatives in the past but this one is by far the simplest, most inexpensive, and effective! See below for links of items used in this video.

I used a lighter when I cut my hole. But how often do you spray them down?

Thanks for the video. How often do you change the moss or clean the hide? And how often do you mist the moss?

just depends on how messy the geckos are. I single gecko not very often for changing. a breeding group maybe every other month i give them fresh sphagnum. I check humidity about once a week. Typically with a good spray down it retains moisture for about 2 weeks

You can use a soldering gun to make the hole instead of scissors or a drill. It'll make a much cleaner "cut" and will be easier to clear later.

Can I use this for a male gecko to make sure he has a humidity box for shedding?
