Going the Wano route into OP07 is solid: you get that new Otama searcher to help you get hits for Hiyori and (better) play You Can Be My Samurai. I see two camps: Wano OR Supernova, both supplemented by either (new) Sabo or Stussy... I think she'll only get more potent in time. Her ability to tap down opponents Characters at 4 or less is such a premium effect to have for 0x Don!!, and is optional for the -1 Lvl effect which is really solid with 8c Sabo... I'd be curious to try a Wano build (as I haven't), and would love to know the upsides/shortcomings as you've found!
That’s a fair swap! I feel like the card disadvantage effects are underutilized (8c Issho being my favorite 👀). 4c Perona is a great card to manipulate in this list though. I’m in and out of using Makino here… Sometimes she’s just another 2Kc, but drawing in a pinch situation is so nice. Innupe puts in work though, I have to say… I hated him at first and now I swear by him, haha.
It's WILD to me that you don't play Sabo... Not only is he a great way to filter your hand, much like Innupe, but he can save your butt in the Sakazuki and especially the Gecko Moria match up! Also, not being able to be tapped down by Izo or Amaru is huge in the Yamato match up, and against yellow in general honestly. I've always felt 4 Sabo's were basically a mandatory for this deck. And the card draw with Makino is nice when you can pull it off, but I feel like it's too niche personally and having a searchable 2k can save your life. Adding in the 2k Baby 5 can also help make your searcher Baby 5 more consistent as well.
I mention Sabo in the *notable exclusions,* but it's like I state there, I get more out of Innupe here than Sabo; but you CAN switch them out. I played Sabo (2x) for the first time in a Saka mirror match yesterday... Proceeded to get Hound Blazed, haha. Still, the Sabo loot effect really helped there. I like the character a lot, you can definitely swap it for the Innupes. Makino works 100% of the time I attempt it, because you play for the draw (off Gecko) or discard it as a 2Kc. I've played with all the 2Kc options in OP06 - including Baby 5 (who is mediocre for effect, fine for search) - and find more lvl reducers to be better to help clear board. The only 2Kc's I highly recommend are Tsuru and Vergo. As I mention, the Makino is definitely a flex spot though: swap it for whatever you like. 👌 Do you have a list you play? Feel free to share it here!
6c Brook being able to place annoying targets like Kikunojo, Borsalino, etc. into the trash is extremely powerful, especially when 80% of the OP06 meta decks use those cards. Additionally, since Brook does not care if a character is rested or not, you can even place an active 5c Sabo or some other active 5c into the trash by using Perona's -1c effect on your 6 don turn. I like running him at 2x but I can understand the argument to exclude him, as well.
Yup, “trash” not “KO” is important. I like running a handful (2x) in my Sakazuki list for OP06 - 1. Discard fodder, 2. Mid-to-late utility, 3. Rebecca Recoverable - but he’s not as flexible here. Mind you, that list has other (better) options for the Kikunojo’s of the world, but at 6c he’s just passable (and slightly better than the 2x 6c Sakazuki I normally use). Here, I stand by what I said in notable exclusions: I play this deck far more aggressively than most, but it’s still a worthy inclusion for those that want a below rate, 2-for-1.👌
We made a Sabo on the channel some time ago. It came out alright, but it was practically mono color… This happens a lot with certain pairings. Green/Blue, Purple/Yellow, Red/Black 👀… A lot of color pairings in the game lack any real synergies (outside of effects with the Leader). Growing pains, happens with every TCG, but as such certain color paired leaders just underperform. Sabo’s effect is sooo good, but the deck just lacks support atm. Same with the recent Rosinante. This isn’t to say the Leaders can’t win, it’s just that they’re not as consistent as other offerings. I personally love Garp for Red/Black. I think his effect with all the lvl based K.O. Cards we’re getting will become devastating soon, though he definitely has some bad matchups.
At last I'm gonna open my ST08 deck for the Makino!!! Tbh though I was running 4c Perona in there but Most of the times it's just a 2kc. Can't argue with the deck theme though 😂
Haha, it’s funny, but in practice I’ve gotten more from Makino as another 8c Gecko card, but that’s a total flex spot. Really, black is not hurting for good 2Kc’s.
Im currently giving it a go without Brannew. I hate to trash my big guys. I play Inuppe and Sabo to get some cycles in. Really helps to get bricks off your hand and find your big guys. Also I can trash what I decide I want to trash. Baby 5 2x because I like to find the Doffy for End game if I don't have it. I'm in and out on Kuzan. Currently i don't have a copy irl. So i just play Ice Age. But I think Kuzan is a good one if you dont play against heavy removal.
4c Kuzan is solid mid-to-late game... My own GM list is currently off it, but consistent lvl reduction is so nice (if it sticks). I've been dabbling with a few Perona builds. Did East Blue, did Supernovas... Still think this is the most competent, but they're all compelling.
Totally is! You could definitely put him in here… I’d say maybe 2x tops to squeeze into the list, but I think we’ve got enough blockers for this build 👌

Thank you for the video! What do you think about the leader in OP07? I was inspired and made a wano build deck list video

Love the deck! I switched out Innupe for Perona and I’m finding good success with it

Used to watch you for cEDH, now I'm watching for OPTCG cause you're covering my favorite leader to date that isn't red/green Law
How is RG Law nowadays? I don’t see much of him locally anymore. Also, thanks for watching! Going to be covering other Leaders soon. 🙌

Thought on sabo?

Isn't blk Rosinante also double searchable? Budget blocker? 🤔

Worororo is a classic
Haha, truly. It’s between Perona and Jaguar D. Saul for me. 🤣
Bro is yapping so much
Yeah how dare him to go over a “complete guide” with talking points on the deck
