In my opinion ,only female artist from her generation who could make the raag sound like it should , without making it too sombre or unidirectional at times. The kirana gayaki is so much evident in her presentation. An well ornamented and bhav purak rendition. A very underrated artist. Who demise didnt create any ripples in social media but the vacuum which got created can never be filled. Pranam

I absolutely love the tablaji's style of playing tabla. his touch is so soft. He is not over powering prabhaji at all. This is exactly how a tablaji should be.
Prabha Atre was my favorite Classical singer . What a soothing voice. Nagpur Radio Station in my college years used to play her a lot . Both sisters Usha and Prabha were gems. We loved their gunj in the early morning. DV Paluskar and Bhimsen Joshi were also everyones favorite singer. There wer many artists were born in Nagpur and then moved to Poona and Mumbai for further education. They all are gems. Our colleges in Nagpur used to have classical singers for the graduation time and people would enjoy them till early morning.

Kya baat bahut khoob. She said in an interview that she was taught Kalyan for one full year, after hich she timidly asked her Guru how much longer would she have to learn this raag. She realized later that learning other raagas was so much easier after that..
Grateful that I am able to listen to this magic! I can only say namaste with folded hands for this everlasting gift given to music lovers by Vidushi Prabha Atre tai!🙏 I can never stop without listening to the last 3 minutes at least 4-5 times!
