Both versions brilliant and powerful. The biggest difference between the two for me is HOW they make me feel. While I listened to Harry I could follow HIS story and feel HIS emotions. While I listened to JK I lived through the story and felt emotions as if they were my own and that made it hit way harder. Jungkook´s version actually broke my heart and made me cry. Harry used staccato vocalization in the first phrase ( interesting choice) which made it sound as if he was trying to detach from whatever the story is about, avoiding the pain and heart ache while being still in the middle of the struggle. Jungkook on the other hand chose to use soft, breathy and almost slurred vocalization and that stylistic choice had such a profound effect and made all the difference for me. It felt as if he was dead tired ( drained emotionally), pleadingly apologizing, after "the deed" is done and over with and he can´t take it back, feeling hopeless. He sounded utterly sad and heart broken. Not sure how to explain it but JK´s version was such a punch into the gut ... great, great work on his part. Beyond stellar.
I used to be a hardcore Directioner and I absolutely love Harry Styles and his solo projects. Falling is one of my favorite song of his, and I can admit that Jungkook's version left me speechless and gave me shivers down my spine. I actually prefer Jungkook's version, probably because his voice sounds more kinda innocent and younger than Harry's, to me it's like listening to a young man that fell in love for the very first time and got his first heart break. The lyrics of this song to Jungkook is a message to ARMY to let us know he is reflecting and he’s missing us and he hopes we haven’t forgotten him. JK has said recently that he lost his motivation in the later part of his his pandemic and not being able to perform to live audiences took a toll on him mentally. So I believe the lyrics to this song to him is about that. Also, JK SANG the whole song and Harry screamed some of his parts. I think it is a good song. JK‘s version made me cry. It sounds so vulnerable and even more sad to me. I like how he didn‘t change much, but it still sounds different.
No question really Harry's emotions are laid bare in his performance. It's the difference in living the pain felt in the song and Jungkook's performing a song written by someone else. In my opinion there's really no comparison. Jungkook has a nice voice but the pain and power in Harry's voice reaches deep into my soul.
I had this song on repeat back when Harry’s album came out, it’s so so beautiful. I’m actually the opposite to Jenny, where I didn’t follow 1D at all, but became quite a big Harry fan when he started his solo career - he seems like a really kind, genuine person and is really talented (and videos of his concerts are really fun to watch, when he interacts with the audience!) To answer your questions, he was born in 1994 (almost exactly the same age as J-Hope) and the 1D fans are called Directioners. Harry styles and his original song is gorgeous… he really made such a gorgeous song. Jungkook just it felt more raw… his emotions just are delivered in a more mature way. I don’t know how to explain it… but like his low register natural raspy tone is my favorite .. but on the beginning it’s almost like jungkook is whispering the song with his voice breaking off giving that vulnerability…. But then the full voice of the chorus for jk with such beautiful control… like it’s weird bc it’s Harry’s original song but it felt like jungkook connected more to the lyrics somehow… I duno they’re both so good and I’m so proud of jungkook I recommend everyone listen to this with headphones or AirPods or whatever…. The beginning parts sound like he’s whispering in your ear… a very intimate take on that part. This is solely just my view and by means am I an expert. It's just what I thought. When I listen to Jungkook's rendition of "Falling", what immediately came to my mind is him speaking of and to ARMY from many perspectives. Considering that this song was probably recorded before any news of a live concert, there's the pandemic and how that has impacted him emotionally. He has expressed many times (with and without tears) how much he misses and how much he needs to "see" and "feel" ARMY. On the "You Quizz" show, he expressed how who is he without singing and BTS. So, a bit of an identity crisis and a need for adoration in order to feel worthy. There are some who criticize his choice to tattoo and pierce his beautiful body. That too could have impacted him emotionally (what if I can't live up to your expectations? Will you leave me?} Then lastly, I thought of did he release this song because they'll be going into military service and will not be on the scene for 18 months? Is he asking the question to ARMY - will you still be around, will you remember me when I return?
Both songs have completely different vibes. Harry Styles uses belting approach and sings with tight closed vocal vowels in the verse. Whereas Jungkook uses mixed rich approach while hitting those notes in chorus and uses breathy approach in the verses.

I've always loved how Harry challenges social norms in similar ways to our boys and his stage presence in person is also very special. I had not heard the original and so as part of respecting the original artist, I had to check it out. I enjoy both versions and each bring a different feeling. Harry's is more raw which is understandable considering it is his own words from his own experience. But JK's just draws me in so I want to listen to it over an over. I am not usually one to fall for his voice, though I recognize how GOOD he is and his talent. As for favorite cover, this one is probably it though SOFA comes as a very close second.

Even if don't prefer the original, we can still be respectful in how we express our opinion and not create further ill-will towards BTS/Army when there's already a propensity to paint us in a bad light. That is your own interpretation. I felt emotions in Jungkook´s versions that were way more REAL and potent. Singers emote differently and that effects listeners differently too. You have no idea what pain Jungkook was singing about and calling a tribute to another artist by covering this stellar piece lame is oh well, lame. I have seen Harry Style sung this song in a while in youtube and visualized what went through by watching the whole thing in the VDO. But I can feel the sudden sadness in how JK’s delivered it right from the start by only listening to the song. I got goosebumps all over my body and cried.
Jungkook gives justice to the song not everybody knows about falling by Harry styles neither I He delivered it passionately and beautifully.

this song had over 500 mln streams on Spotify alone, not being a single, before JK covered it. Nothing will beat the original but I appreciate the cover a lot, he did this song justice. And I understand how you might not hear about Harry, I got yo know about him just a year ago myself, and it happened through the band I follow for years. So yeah, those covers and collabs are great because artists open the whole worlds of new music to their fans. You should give Harry a chance and listen to his other songs, it's always nice to broaden your horizons.

I think it is a good song. JK‘s version made me cry. It sounds so vulnerable and even more sad to me. I like how he didn‘t change much, but it still sounds different.

I had this song on repeat back when Harry’s album came out, it’s so so beautiful. I’m actually the opposite to Jenny, where I didn’t follow 1D at all, but became quite a big Harry fan when he started his solo career - he seems like a really kind, genuine person and is really talented (and videos of his concerts are really fun to watch, when he interacts with the audience!) To answer your questions, he was born in 1994 (almost exactly the same age as J-Hope) and the 1D fans are called Directioners.
JK’s version is just as beautiful though, I don’t think I can pick which I prefer.

Harry styles and his original song is gorgeous… he really made such a gorgeous song. Jungkook just it felt more raw… his emotions just are delivered in a more mature way. I don’t know how to explain it… but like his low register natural raspy tone is my favorite .. but on the beginning it’s almost like jungkook is whispering the song with his voice breaking off giving that vulnerability…. But then the full voice of the chorus for jk with such beautiful control… like it’s weird bc it’s Harry’s original song but it felt like jungkook connected more to the lyrics somehow… I duno they’re both so good and I’m so proud of jungkook
I recommend everyone listen to this with headphones or AirPods or whatever…. The beginning parts sound like he’s whispering in your ear… a very intimate take on that part. Jk just has music in his soul… I totally get why producers like working with him and that it’s hard sometimes for an artist to do what the producer is looking for 100%… it’s extremely difficult drawing that out of people… but I’ve heard multiple times that jungkook does this so well… and he also makes it his own and puts his personality in there… he has always said that passion is one of the most important things to him and something he is proud of… his passion. This is solely just my view and by means am I an expert. It's just what I thought. When I listen to Jungkook's rendition of "Falling", what immediately came to my mind is him speaking of and to ARMY from many perspectives. Considering that this song was probably recorded before any news of a live concert, there's the pandemic and how that has impacted him emotionally. He has expressed many times (with and without tears) how much he misses and how much he needs to "see" and "feel" ARMY. On the "You Quizz" show, he expressed how who is he without singing and BTS. So, a bit of an identity crisis and a need for adoration in order to feel worthy. There are some who criticize his choice to tattoo and pierce his beautiful body. That too could have impacted him emotionally (what if I can't live up to your expectations? Will you leave me?} Then lastly, I thought of did he release this song because they'll be going into military service and will not be on the scene for 18 months? Is he asking the question to ARMY - will you still be around, will you remember me when I return?

Both songs have completely different vibes. Harry Styles uses belting approach and sings with tight closed vocal vowels in the verse. Whereas Jungkook uses mixed rich approach while hitting those notes in chorus and uses breathy approach in the verses.
I think Harry version will always have my heart because he was my first love of boybands lmao. But also there's something about when it's a self-written song the emotion is much stronger because it's from their experience. Regardless JK DID AMAZING! so uniquely different it was beautiful xx

JK version hits different for me. It’s like I love it but trying to avoid it. No matter how many time I listen to it, I want to cry. It brings out all the sadness in me. I feel his emotion up and down, but Harry has a powerful vocal. It could be I am more connected to BTS and know what they have been through these two years.

Harry Styles in 1D was my BTS before BTS and I have been hoping and dreaming for a collab since I became ARMY 😂 This cover is so beautiful I could cry! I've always loved how Harry challenges social norms in similar ways to our boys and his stage presence in person is also very special. There are plenty of great compilations of his stage interactions and videos of him being generally lovely - it's not a bad rabbit hole to fall down tbh 😅

I had not heard the original and so as part of respecting the original artist, I had to check it out. I enjoy both versions and each bring a different feeling. Harry's is more raw which is understandable considering it is his own words from his own experience. But JK's just draws me in so I want to listen to it over an over. I am not usually one to fall for his voice, though I recognize how GOOD he is and his talent. As for favorite cover, this one is probably it though SOFA comes as a very close second.

I love Jk's version way way better than the original, definitely. Why? Jungkook sings using his head n mouth voice. He uses his chest head n mouth voice this us why Jk sings more relaxed but you can hear the raw emotions in his voice than harry. Harry on the other hand tends to use more raspy throat voice. Harry uses his throat more. harry tends to shout more using his throat you can hear him straining his voice more than jk. Jk is more relaxed in his voice more than harry who keeps straining his voice to the point of shouting. I love jk's vocals more not bcos im his fan but bcos his voice n style in singing is so beautiful with a lot of substance n passion n the quality is smoother n sweeter but harry's style is hard i felt anger n violence in his voice like he's angry n out of control thats why he's shouting.

as both army and a harry stan, i should say for those who says Jk's version is more emotional than the original is kinda biased (u just really love him and didn't care about anything else) you guys didn't see the live version and how emotional harry was, he wrote this song 20 minutes and almost cried during the live performance.
