Hey, that's one of those Malaysian bootlegs! They're actually pretty decent for what they're worth, some scenes do get censored from certain series but they are one of the only ways to watch certain anime!
This happened with me for love, chuunibyou, and other delusions. i was kinda pissed that it was a bootleg, but i was even more unhappy when episode 11 would just boot me back to the episode select screen.

So far I have Digimon Adventure 01 on Blu-Ray, Digimon Adventure 02 on DVD, the official copy, Digimon The Movie DVD, Digimon Tamers, Digimon Data Squad, Digimon Fusion Seasons 1 & 2, Digimon Adventure Tri on Blu-Ray and Digimon Last Evolution Kizuna on Blu-Ray.
heya! Great video I have my own fair share of Malay bootlegs too. Weirdly, the majority of mine have the subtitles from Funimation and Manga UK releases, exact same grammar and translations. I’ve never come across the Pokémon Vietnamese crystal translations that some people report with bootleg anime DVDs… From what I can gather, when these companies collate anime onto DVDs and the English version is cut, they perform this sort of weird video audio surgery to make them sync up. Because otherwise they’d have two separate editions of the episode on the disc, and that would take up loads of space and reduce the video quality overall.
from what i've seen Yugioh often is sold seperately dub & sub in Malaysian sets with the sub version appearing more rarely. I've considered biting the bullet a few times but changed my mind at the last moment.
I once read a bad digimon crossover fanfiction that was just as bad remake of something but the everyone has digimon and they ended up in the digital world and talked to the cast of digimon and I finally got board stopped reading it
Kinda off topic though, But I've bought bootleg DVD of some iconic Japanese TV series called "Beach Boys" and "Tokyo Love Story (1991 Version)". As per the video quality, it's pretty decent. But when it comes to it's English subtitles, there are some grammatical errors and poor word choices that makes you read a broken English sentences at some point. But regardless if it's the real deal, I still love having them added to my collection, not because I support piracy and stuff, but it's rare and hard to find. The bootleg DVD are base off torrent versions of digimon adventure and 02 done by fans, where the eps are the jp versions and you can choose what audio you wanted, if you wanted english you can, they took the english audio and sync it to the jp video and when ever it plays parts of the video where there's no english audio, it would play the jp audio with english sub if you had the english subs for english (they are only for parts that are not dub)
i have my fair share of bootleg dvds, thanks to yard sales and flea markets, most of them look like that example you shown at the beginning of the video, it’s cool though you got a decent bootleg and with the cut scenes added back in
