    Just purchased a new Toro zero turn. It seems to be great and was a great choice. 23 hp with a 50 inch cut. I am cutting about 2 acres and its great except gotta learn how to manuver the banks along the road. Does not do well there. we have a huge gravely that does much better but its heavier with bigger wheels and a wider track..

    Love the video. There is also a sponge filter that goes over the air filter. Just hit my first 100 hours.

    I just bought a 2022 Timecutter 50" from a big box store, winter right now so it will be several months before I start it and use it but I am not finding anything on servicing the transmissions, I do see fill plugs but no drain plugs. I am thinking this mower has non-serviceable transmission but maybe I can somehow siphon out the oil and replace with new oil after some use. Any experience with that yourself? I am a little disappointed to find this is a non-serviceable area on what I believe will be an awesome mower. Thank you for an informative video!

      Hello! Mine has sealed drives, and I don't think they even have fill ports. I have not had any issues, so I haven't had to play with them much. From what I have heard from others, you will have to replace them as soon as you find out they needed fluid. Doesn't sit easy with me, but what do you do. Hope you enjoy your new mower!

    • @raykelley234
      @raykelley234 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES with a number 6 torx allen you can pull that fill plug and suck it right out. Takes 20w-50. Amsoil sells hydrostatic transmission fluid 20w-50 that is the best.

    tires are very different and the front need more pressure due to the size. if the manual says 30 put 30 if the manual says 16 in back put 16 in back. i usually follow the manual recommendations as they did the testing for you.

    When tightening oil filters by hand the general rule is 3/4 to 1 turn.

    Did you use regular motor oil? Was it conventional or synthetic? Thanks for the awesome tutorial

    • @poyganoutdoors6406
      @poyganoutdoors6406  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback! I used valvoline synthetic 10w-30 (works best for my area and climate). If you look in the owners manual, they have a nice chart in there for recommended oil weight to use depending on the tempatures you will be mowing in. Take care!

    You may find it easier using a flexible ratchet instead of the flexible socket adapter

    One thing I didn't see was where the grease zerts are located. I know that should be more frequent than 100hr maintenance, but it seems an odd thing to leave out.

      Hmm I may have missed it, but I believe it is every 25 hours (I'd have to check the book again). I usually do it every other week during the mowing season though. Thanks for watching!

    Two different types/grades of oil?

    • @poyganoutdoors6406
      @poyganoutdoors6406  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Eric, they were both synthetic valvoline 10w-30. The red one is their high mileage blend. Which was left over from my old mower. So same oil different colored jugs 😉. Thanks for watching!
