Noise isn't bad at all, infact if you record your vocals for a song you are probably going to edit the clip anyway, and for spoken word, a gate is sufficient to supress noise, but then again your audio interface is turn up all the way, not much for gainstaging, turn it down lower and put a L3 low latency limiter on the track, and give it at least +10 to +15 Db extra so you can hear yourself. Remember that digital has no impact from noise, if you crank up the gain too much you are gettin noise from the background. that is usually what you hear.
