You know what I like about these guides? They are great for beginners. I know there is more to combos than what these videos show but for someone like me that needs to get the basics down, they are great.

I could use combos....or I can just command grab and use my v-skill to bring them closer to keep command grabbing. And use the lariat to avoid fireballs so I can keep command grabbing.
Fix his lariat and give him green hand. And then we'll have a character

Is this guide out of date since Championship Edition? Wanting to start to heavily get into this game/character soon.
Not really, this is just the basics of Gief and is very well done for a beginner. I'd say if you like playing Gief, start with the trials and then watch some videos on Snakeeyez. He's the best Gief in the world
this ain't too bad, but gief's cr.hp doesn't crush counter and his v-trigger is around -6 if you just tap it making it a bad thing to do to get in

you also forgot to mention that his headbutt can nullify projectiles and gives him a 1 hit armor. And if you time it right and be in the right range, you can punish them with the spinning pile driver or the running grab. They will never see it comming :3

7:14 spd is called "spinning screwdriver"
It seems zangrief's critical art deals more damage than most if not the most damage, then what is his disadvantage?
It is difficult to setup overall. Hence the damage is meant to be a reward after the risk.
chuk90 Its also pretty hard to perform.
You get stuck out vs projectiles, they took away throw invincibility which is wack and the guy is huge and slow

i cant do the double full foward circle combo cause of that fucking jump he does.
The description and use of EX Air SPD is wrong. It does not do more damage, it's weaker than HP air SPD. The difference is the range and the fact that you don't hang in the air like with the other air SPDs allowing for quicker recovery and being able to combo into it from an anti air crush counter or V-trigger.

I absolutely loved this game. Such happy childhood memories. Looking up Chung Li's skirt when she did that spinning bird kick and throwing the controller across the room when Sagat beat you with nothing but Tigers.
guief has serious problems against Ryu , Ken , nash and dhalsim , why he no longer has the green hand , this makes it very difficult to approach characters that attack the distance , not to mention that he now has less HP than USFIV

At the end of Overview: Range Zones, I think he meant to say standing light punch instead of crouching light punch as an anti air.

Either way, standing light punch, crouching fierce (he calls it heavy in the video), lariat and air grab are his anti air moves. You could even use forward fierce for close anti air situations.

+Solid Mike Actually, if you're using Russian pronunciation, 'e' is spoken as a 'yeah' sound. So if he was saying his own name it would sound like Zan-gi-yef. Ignoring the fact that Zangief isn't any kind of name in the first place, of course ;)
