okay you guys I can explain since I'm one of these weird ass people who prefer that over closed doors (usually at least). First thing to note I live with my parents and we live in a rather small flat not a house. Maybe that changes things. And second thing is that I'm in general quite afraid of the dark because of some creepy experiences I've had as a kid. So,the thing is for me at least having the door open gives me,as weird as it is, a sense of security because I can easily hear every single noise in our flat and can easily tell known sounds from unkown. Then I sleep basically facing the door and If something/ someone would be approaching I'd be able to hear them/ see them coming and would be able to react. There is not this ''fear of the unkown lurking behind your door'', and that also calms my nerves. Then on the other hand I also don't feel as isolated as If my door was closed and If something/ someone would be in my room I'd be able to scream and would easily be heard by my parents. Soo yeah.. Liked as soon as I saw the title. I absolutely LOVE this franchise. Even the ridiculous later entries are still entertaining. Really glad you guys are reacting to this.
I'm not sure if you guys have seen it, but as far as found-footage horror goes, "As Above, So Below" is one of my favorite movies. It's a very rare mix of adventure and horror, kind of like Indiana Jones meets found footage, and it's a very intense and creepy ride. You guys should check it out.
I love this film! I am a huge horror fan and I have to admit that this one got me the first time I watched it. I watched it in my living room with my two siblings and it was the best experience, the idea of it building so slowly and the events being so subtle to begin with added so much tension. Me and my siblings would be staring so intensely at the screen looking for something to happen and helping each other out by pointing out what was happening if one of us couldn't see it. It's one of the few films all three of us agree on, and at the end none of us could leave the room alone, following each other up the stairs to the bathroom and talking to each other loudly through the door just in case! 😆 One of the best experiences I've had in horror films.
I watched this in the evening, with my two (at the time) best friends, in one of their basements, on their large TV with decent surround, in middle school or perhaps grade 9... To this day, the absolute scariest part of this movie, is whenever the clock on the night recordings would slow down, just because it meant something was going to happen, and we had no idea as to WHAT would happen... Besides that though, we quickly came up with a way to make the entirity of the movie seem way less scary - The demon was actually a small raptor who was learning how to pogostick. Hence the scratches, hence the banging around/falling down stairs noises (fell off the stick) and the swinging chandelier (bounced too high and bonked it's head) Hahaha. It was a stressful movie, one I still can't watch in the darkness or alone, but having those friends around for the first watch made it a fun kind of stressful.
It's funny because people thought it was real and tried to find out what really happened, finding out later that they were actors. I thought it was based on a true story. Sooooo Gooood.❤😂😂
This is a fantastic concept for a movie franchise. It's so subtle, yet scary AF. Your eyes are glued to the screen, looking for every little minute detail, straining your ears to hear everything. You have to admire the unsung heroes (the continuity folks). For most movies, the audience aren't glued to the surroundings, so you can get away with things like the clock being the wrong time between shots, or the placement of an ornament on a shelf.
I get so freaked out by invisible things like these. I remember watching this as a teen and feeling all right. Right now it's so hard omg... I have to pause you guys all the time >
Yay, I'm so excited that you guys reacted to this movie!! I love the first three films in the franchise. Forever some of my favorite scary movies, especially because I love found footage horror.
15k for production and 215k for post but made in the box office nearly 200m so it’s one of the biggest return of investment for a movie ever. History making
That stand next to the bed thing? My son does that to me. Sometimes he gets really close to my face with his face and that is what I wake up to in the middle of the night. No noise, nothing, just staring at me.
OMG YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!!! I held a party at my house where we watched every Paranormal Activity movie and I would love to watch them all with you guys!!! They get funnier (due to lack of quality) and less scary as they go on lol
That demon was toying with her. A mix of "let's see how much I can move you about" it has tasks, that's why she wasn't found, I think. 🙂 That paranormal dude had survival instincts he was like can't help you, and fled with a eff this quickness lol. I love found footage horror, and that the goofball boyfriend didn't leap out of bed but then snag the camera made it so satisfying. Because in that terrible movie The Visit, for all the fear they supposedly had, they kept remembering to bring the camera along 🙄 lame. And the imagination makes the best horror, we'll never know what went on downstairs those times and it's the best
I love how the psychic said negative energy feeds it and then Michah just proceeds to make Katie's life as stressful as possible and purposefully doesn't listen to her because of his stupid ego.
I love how the psychic said negative energy feeds it and then Michah just proceeds to make Katie's life as stressful as possible and purposefully doesn't listen to her because of his stupid ego.
Guys if you want a good underrated horror, found footage movie? Hell house, the directors cut. Its available on here. But Paranormal activity? Made for just $15,000. The film has grossed $107.9 million domestically and $85.4 million in foreign markets, with a total gross of $193.4 million. The Hollywood Reporter estimated the film made a net profit of $78 million. Insane!
I love watching people’s reactions to these movies. I think found footage makes the entire experience of the characters all the more ‘real’ for them and for us. It would be great to get your reaction to the rest of the movies, although i think this is the best one!
The Fourth Kind always leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it capitalized and exploited the real deaths of missing people from Nome and Northwest Alaska. It was so heavily marketed as a “true story”, trying to pull one over on the audience with “real” interviews and parading Milla Jovovich around in the trailer as herself to further spread the lies, but it’s just a whole load of made up BS. Imagine what those people’s families must’ve thought. Truly reprehensible and irresponsible, in my opinion.
@@augierivera3290 We'll have to agree to disagree there. They are not the first or last movie to draw some story elements from real events. It isn't like they used real names or anything. Also, no one with any sense would have actually thought their version was a true story, despite its presentation. But, it's that presentation and editing style that gives it its very disturbing feeling. It wasn't scary, gross, gory, or horrifying. It was, to put it as simply as I can, deeply unsettling. Very few horror films have had that kind of lasting impact on me. I say cudos to the director and editors. They didn't mean to convince people it was real, or anything silly like that. They succeeded at doing exactly what they meant to do. Leave people feeling uneasy and disturbed after viewing.

I was showing my mom this movie and my dad doesn’t like horror, so he wasn’t watching. Not going to say anything about the guy, but it was a pretty funny story.

I love this reaction gentlement! Especially the idea of a supernatural rom-com. Sort of like the entity is a supernatural BFF mixed with jealous ex-BF? I've only seen this once before, and that was the original theatrical run. And I've never seen the sequels, but I'm looking forward to experiencing them through your reactions. One thing though. I had to laugh every time you mentioned sleeping with their feet out of the covers, because I do that all the time. If I get too warm , but not enough to throw off the cover completely, I'll stick a foot (or both) out, and that balances my temperature beautifully. Then, if my feet get cold, I might pull them back in. But if someone were filming me asleep at night, they'd probably see at least one foot out most of the time. Keep up the great work guys.
in my 20s i lived in a haunted apartment. every so often i'd wake up in the middle of the night to the sensation that someone just sat down on my feet. The bed would sink in and everything. it was fucking weird
I actually lived in a house that had that hume at a certain time at the same stage of night, we had stuff move, cupboards and doors open all the time & could always feel like a person was standing watching, but the funny thing is we learned to live with it. But that hume sound still haunts me I cant explain it. It was other worldly
By the way, there are brilliant alternate endings (theatrical and the ones released through other mediums) - I think there are four of them including the one you just saw. Would love to see your reaction to that...
I'm only 9 minutes in when they talk about the whispering- When I was a kid and went to sleep, id hear whispers overlapping each other constantly but I never said anything because I honestly thought it was normal. they went away eventually. Then in high school, I'd always stay home alone and started hearing my name being called out in whispers. Some were faint but some were a bit harsh, I also didn't really think anything of it. I'd feel like I was being watched all the time. I also never gave it any attention and they both went away. Now that we've moved into the apartment my aunt passed down to us, I've been waking up during the night feeling like someone or something has been watching me but like usual I'd just ignore it. The crazy thing is, that my aunt would always claim to hear things. Same as my grandmother before she passed away- so at this point I'm just used to it that it doesn't even bother me anymore😭😭
I've been WAITING for you guys to do this! You're in for a lot more! There's still Paranormal Activity 2, 3, and 4, and Paranormal Activity 5: The Marked Ones, and Paranormal Activity 6: The Ghost Dimension, there's also an extra Paramount spin-off that came out recently called Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, but it's unnecessary and you don't need to watch it unless you want to out of curiosity, I'd just stick to the original 2-6 from now on. Awesome reaction and look forward to the rest!
After watching this I didn't sleep the ENTIRE night LIKE 8 HOURS and kept hearing noises and creaks and tapping. And well I eventually just didn't sleep. But this was the first movie to keep me up for the whole night! Especially the part where micah's body was thrown! Loved the reaction
I’m unfazed by horror movies (really hard to scare), however I found these first two movies to be good fun! Also, from your remarks about Micah’s terrible behavior, you guys sound like really sweet and considerate people!
I love to rewatch all the paranormal activity movies i find them really entertaining even if i dont think they're the best. Also me and my family love to do the "what would you do?" Scenario through out the movies since we have had our fair share of paranormal activity (heh) not to this level tho 💀
If you don't both jump out of bed, turn on all the lights and shout, scream yell no matter what you're wearing or not as it's more likely to be an intruder not expecting to get caught or an animal. Who does leave their bedroom door open? Shout out to affordability as that place is huge for two people!
4:13 "the what?!" - aww man now I feel old :D FireWire was a bus (as in, a cable) for serial transmission of data, I believe Macintosh used them for the first time in 1990. Its - for the time - high speed was the reason it was used a lot for video cameras and other multimedia with huge file sizes. FireWire was eventually succeeded by the Universal Serial Bus - or USB as you know it today.

10:29 i dont knwo if that was intended but holy shit that scared me
Liked as soon as I saw the title. I absolutely LOVE this franchise. Even the ridiculous later entries are still entertaining. Really glad you guys are reacting to this.
Love your reactions! Can't wait to see your reactions in the rest of the series! (PLEASE watch them all)
Thanks guys! 😁
I love that one.
I agree I love that movie, the main character was annoying at times though
I love that movie I jump every time lol
have you seen the video of when TFIL went to the catacombs lol
That jump scare reaction at 21:22 🤣👏🏽
I watched this in the evening, with my two (at the time) best friends, in one of their basements, on their large TV with decent surround, in middle school or perhaps grade 9...
Omg I love this movie and the franchise so much I hope you stick with it! Even if just to get to “the marked ones” the best of the franchise
i love that you are so honest about already seen it awesome reaction
Aww thanks man. We try
OHH MY GOD I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REACTION SO LONG!!! U GUYS NEED TO WATCH ALL OF THEM!!!
The real crime in this movie is them sleeping w/ their door open 😂
29:30 “HELL. It came from hell 😅”
YOU KILL ME 🤣
33:36 BEELZEBUB you two literally are killing me this video
15k for production and 215k for post but made in the box office nearly 200m so it’s one of the biggest return of investment for a movie ever. History making
the movie had a budget of $15K, but ended up making $193.4M, so this was one of the first low-budget films to blow up back then
29:30 "HELL! IT CAME FROM HELL" 😂
Hit the nail, talk about a decline 😁
That demon was toying with her. A mix of "let's see how much I can move you about" it has tasks, that's why she wasn't found, I think. 🙂 That paranormal dude had survival instincts he was like can't help you, and fled with a eff this quickness lol.
I love found footage horror, and that the goofball boyfriend didn't leap out of bed but then snag the camera made it so satisfying. Because in that terrible movie The Visit, for all the fear they supposedly had, they kept remembering to bring the camera along 🙄 lame. And the imagination makes the best horror, we'll never know what went on downstairs those times and it's the best
the demon was there for possession. it tormented her until it wore her down and broke her and then it took her.
“The Marked Ones”spin-off shows what happens downstairs lol
Guys if you want a good underrated horror, found footage movie? Hell house, the directors cut. Its available on here. But Paranormal activity? Made for just $15,000. The film has grossed $107.9 million domestically and $85.4 million in foreign markets, with a total gross of $193.4 million. The Hollywood Reporter estimated the film made a net profit of $78 million. Insane!
Oh yes, Hell House is frickin epic I love all of those movies.
@@kirstygunn9149 Me too! I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed them.
Yes that movie is terrifying!
I love how the first 5 movies all tie into one another
The simple home-video style of this movie makes it more scary
Watching horrors with lights on is like listening to rock music on low volume. :)
I love watching people’s reactions to these movies. I think found footage makes the entire experience of the characters all the more ‘real’ for them and for us. It would be great to get your reaction to the rest of the movies, although i think this is the best one!
If you haven't, you really need to check out The Fourth Kind. Criminally underrated IMO.
That one was intense.
Leave people feeling uneasy and disturbed after viewing.
not me turning around every once in a while because i am getting wayyy to paranoid..
also kinda love how frustrated ninetailedbrush gets with the boyfriend :D
and as always thanks for another great reaction guys
16:14 James Oh my gosh
21:22 Got them
I was showing my mom this movie and my dad doesn’t like horror, so he wasn’t watching. He came up and was doing chores in the kitchen and Micah was talking and and my dad came over and asked to see what the guy looked like. Turns out he knew him from college. Not going to say anything about the guy, but it was a pretty funny story.
That’s wild!!
I’m English and we never cheer at movies. Ever. But when this ended everyone did, clapped and whooped. Great film and I can’t wait to see your reaction
Thanks brother
watching these movies in the theatres was an experience
omg please do the whole series, it’s so hurtful to my brain when ppl don’t finish full series on reactions lol
Ok cool!!!
That’s TERRIFYING!!
I actually lived in a house that had that hume at a certain time at the same stage of night, we had stuff move, cupboards and doors open all the time & could always feel like a person was standing watching, but the funny thing is we learned to live with it. But that hume sound still haunts me I cant explain it. It was other worldly
43:30 BOOM!!!
I’m super excited to see your reactions to this franchise!!
By the way, there are brilliant alternate endings (theatrical and the ones released through other mediums) - I think there are four of them including the one you just saw. Would love to see your reaction to that...
My favorite part of this was when he was going into the attic and ninetailedbrush was like leave the camera I don't have to go up there. Hahaha. Same
I'm only 9 minutes in when they talk about the whispering- When I was a kid and went to sleep, id hear whispers overlapping each other constantly but I never said anything because I honestly thought it was normal. they went away eventually.
25:21 [Eddie Murphy voice] "Too bad we can't stay, baby."
I endured this because you guys were talking but this is one of the few horror movies that actually freak me out
Lol
21:22 was so genuine! I honestly felt like I was watching it and getting scared with you guys!
Sleeping with the door open is a big NOPE for me.
Yes for sure!!!
Yes please continue!! Five is my favorite! It's got some fantastic comedy to balance out the horror, and it's got the scarriest end (to me anyway).
I’m unfazed by horror movies (really hard to scare), however I found these first two movies to be good fun!
Also, from your remarks about Micah’s terrible behavior, you guys sound like really sweet and considerate people!
yesss I’ve been waiting for the Paranormal Activity collection 🫶🏾
Other fun horror recommendations
Gothika (2003 movie)
Sunshine (2007 scfi horror)
Thirteen ghosts (2001 movie)
Another amazing reaction from you both!
Thanks :)
I sleep with at least one foot out, depending on the season, because it keeps my body temperature balanced.
“If it comes back you’re gonna throw hands?!” 😂
The latest paranormal activity was done in the outskirts of my home city Buffalo, N.Y
My whole childhood was watching all the movies from de series. I love it sm
This was one of the few horror movies that managed to scare me when it first came out
Definitely more PA! I freaking love you guys.
Thank you for your honest reactions! You seem like real chill dudes! Cheers!
Whenever the humming starts it turns into a horror version of where’s Waldo
4:13 "the what?!" - aww man now I feel old :D
FireWire was a bus (as in, a cable) for serial transmission of data, I believe Macintosh used them for the first time in 1990. Its - for the time - high speed was the reason it was used a lot for video cameras and other multimedia with huge file sizes. FireWire was eventually succeeded by the Universal Serial Bus - or USB as you know it today.
As an investigator, if an unseen force knocks or Linda on your door? do NOT open it. If you open it you’re welcoming it into the space.
The 5th movie for me personally was the creepiest...like it really shows so much more than this movie does
Watching this in theaters was insane! I still remember the reactions of the moviegoers.
This movie hits differently now after experiencing some weird stuff in my house lol
Oops…
I died when NTB said "Nooo... Stop bringing us with you!" @30:14 🤣
After the paranormal activity series you guys should react to gonjiam haunted asylum
I love that the movies are all connected
Paranormal activity and Rec are by far my favorite horror found footage can't wait to see if you do the rest of the Paranormal series!
Hi guys.
If you really like 'found footage' movies, there's this Norwegian film I think you'll like.
'Troll Hunter'.
Oh yes!!! I honeslty didn't think anyone else watched that movie, haha. I think they'd love that one even just for the style.
Oh yes, that one is great, too! And criminally unknown!
Can't wait for you to see part 2
Legit laughed when Micah bit it. He deserved it the entire movie.
😂😂
One of my most hated characters in any movie. He got off easy :P
41:13 now that I'm rewatching this, what happened in that moment. She had just passed out and Micah's voice seemed terrified
On the ouija board the demon wrote “DUMP HIM, GIRL!”
I'll keep recommending Darkness Falls, made me scared of the dark for a month when I was a kid and convinced me the tooth fairy is evil demon
All in good time, my friend. They gotta get through the more popular stuff first.

@@beautifulbliss5883 I understand the wait frustration, though. So many fans to try and please. I promise I enjoyed that movie too, I'll vote for it the next time they put it up. There are three more worth watching to understand the whole series. However good or bad the end may be. So, it'll be a while yet but we'll get there.
@@moonlitskylight5740 Here's to hoping. 🥃
I watched a PARODY of this movie and still couldn’t sleep for 2 days
Such a classic horror film. Though I'd call it more of a suspense film I think because jump scares are my nemesis lol y'all had me laughing at this one with your reactions. Can't wait for the others in the franchise!
"Supernatural Rom Com." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You right.
