@WW1-WW2CollectorHunter Did you understand the joke? Things being older than your grandparents would expect to bring more than $150 normally. I joked that it still was "wild" so no clickbait occurred. But it did not bring the same proportionate value as something merely 20 years older, because of the 1898 cutoff. Saying "earlier model worth more" is not an insight into the real reason it's so cheap.
He probably decided that it’s not worth $50-$150, to sell a revolver that was given to him as a heirloom. I wouldn’t have done it even for $50,000. That’s something that his grandfather probably either carried around all the time, or actually defended his life in battle with it. You can’t sell that kind of stuff.
Just once I'd kinda like to see a normal pawn shop transaction on this show. "I've got this box full of dirty DVDs that smell like cigarettes, a few loose PS2 games and a cordless drill without the battery. I'm looking to get enough to buy a carton of Newports".

No actually you don’t just take it home to gather dust. What you do is take it home, call the non emergency number for police, tell them you inherited a pistol and want to check the registration, and be able to own it legally.

I'm amazed that Rick doesn't have an FFL. It just seems like the natural thing to do if you own a pawnshop.
