Great video. At some points the sound effects covered the explanation so I had to listen three times to get the info. Would be VERY helpful to have a transcript of the explanation so I can read it at my own speed. Good video - helps me a lot to programme my Photon, mounted on a long tail cargo bike.
Excellent video! Please provide a discussion regarding how torque is defined for the three available assist levels for throttle and peddle assist. As the user can define the maximum wattage provided for each assist level and torque is set as a percentage, how does that relate to torque in Newton-Meters. Sample question: If the motor is set to 6kw and that relates to 250Nm of torque if set to 100%, then setting torque to 50% would mean that a maximum of 125Nm would be available. Is that how it works? If not, how does it work?
Doing some research would indicate that motor torque is more related to phase current at a given power/load/gearing (bike climbing ability). Whereas, phase voltage at the same power/load/gearing relates more to maximum motor RPM (bike speed). So, what does the torque setting in the app actually do to control available torque and how is it quantified?
Only the cool kids with dropper posts. On 1x bikes the throttle won't easily fit beside the shifter and brake; and on the left side the throttle fits but is hard to avoid mistakenly hitting when using the dropper.
I have a question about my and my brothers cyc photon. On a regular basis, it seems like our drive motors seem to disengage when applying a lot of torque to the pedals when climbing a step hill or technical section. Is this something that can be tuned out in the settings? I'm thinking torque sensitivity might be the problem, but in the section where you talk about it, it's almost completely inaudible. Any advice much appreciated.
Having more than two (street / race) profiles switchable from the app would be desireable. Including the ability to enable/disable throttle & peddle assist independently for each profile would also be useful. Thanks for the excellent video.
Can we have the option to engage throttle even if we do not have motor assist on at any level ? This can help when face a hurdle but your motor assist is not engaged, a simple push on throttle will get you through ... and then you are back to normal human power pedalling
It would be awesome if it could be possible to limit the throttle in Street mode to walk asssit only and then full throttle control when switching to race mode on private roads/trails or coutries with different laws!
This has probably been asked by someone before, but it'd be awesome if the throttle/PAS top speeds could be configured separately within the same profile. For example, in my street profile I completely switch the throttle off to force myself into pedal assist, but it'd be nice to be able to use the throttle up to a certain speed to set off. Or another example is limiting the throttle to suit local regulations in the street profile. Something else I'd like to ask about is what the throttle pinout is, I've been searching for a lever style thumb throttle that's compatible with the CYC, but both ones I've tried aren't registered by the kit, please could you advise on the pinout for the throttle. Thanks
I am a BBSHD owner and I am looking to upgrade to a new bike with a CYC X1 Pro Gen 4. How many PAS settings can you have? So far I am only seeing 3 options but I would really like to have 5 if that is possible. Thanks!
Thank you for this video!

I understood 2 Nm.... correct?

@2:15 is this how the cool kids mount their throttle now 😂
I think its dangerous.
I think its for demonstration and viewing purposes so you can directly see the action of the throttle.
@@SofiaisSunshine Yeh, I assumed that too. Somebody is going to think its a good idea and mount it that way.

Will it be possible in the future to define a custom motor assist curve based on user power input? (torque applied at cadence)

It would be nice to have screenshots of different settings for mountain trails, gravel, and roads that others have dialed in.
Or some presets built in. I would love to swap from “commuting” to “MTB” ON THE FLY FROM THE APP.
Yes please!

will you guys come out with a higher power 72v battery?
Please add the soft start function for the stealth! It's plenty powerful to slam the free hub all the time on the throttle
I got the X1 Pro Gen 4, I've only done 1100 miles and I've gone through 4 chains, 2 cassettes and 2 sets of tyres

My throttle screen lacks the soft start.
Awesome!

You can tune it for 2x modes: Race and Street mode. Then, you can have up to 9x assist levels.
Where do I buy it?
@ 6:35 you say 60nm, did you mean to say 50nm?
Hey, can you please explain "Throttle Torque Level" its a Setting from 0%-100% and we don't get, what we control with it.
Would be great if you could do a software update with different settings pre programmed in for diffferent types of riding scenarios
Can you add the soft start function to the X1 Stealth Pro please!?
We'll be adding it to the Photon and Stealth soon.
