Wow! Very unexpected, had a torrid time at Roma but did well with Verona and Torino before that. He's a fan of physical football and likes a back 3, so could be suited to the Southampton squad.
In 2 months in Rome, he totally destroyed the team. He left Paredes and Hummels on the bench regularly because he didn't like the way they played... he is a total disgrace for any football team
Whoever the boss taken over has got a really tough job ahead to get the saints enough wins to stay up,U could c the players downed tools first half against spurs, second half against Liverpool as an outsider 🇬🇫💛💚I thought the saints were in the match right until the final whistle, why Russ Martin kept the style playing out from the back has cost the saints so many points, the new manager has got to get the dressing room back on side, January transfer market they need to do business and bring in 3 or 4 quality players to compete, the new boss has to put his stamp on how the best way forward to get the saints to the 37 point mark, might be lucky and need 34, but under 30 points Ur down,my team went down with a wimper and 21 points and it was painful and a relief to get back in the championship,🤣🤬🔰🇬🇫😭💰💛💚
well seems like we’ve got our man, a few things worry me but i do mostly like what i’ve heard about him and he brings something i’ve been wanting from our squad. can’t be worse than russell that’s for sure.
Good appointment by Southampton. Einstein once said trying the same things over and over again expecting different results is insanity. Russell Martin's style of play was delusional imo, Southampton are not good enough to pass it out from the back and possession style. This manager brings something different, more Italian defensive and High pressing which is what the club needs. Southampton are a decent side, better than Everton, Ipswich and wolves imo, but what has cost Southampton this season is their silly errors form passing it out at the back and their defensive fragilities. If this manager can get Southampton to defend well, I think Southampton if not have a good chance of staying up and their next four fixtures look winnable so we will see. He turned torino into a great side so let's see what happens
He may just worked out at Saints - a team without notable stars. Roma is with too many old stars who are egoistic which has worked against him there. Lets hope he can turn a non-star team like Southampton to a present Nottingham Forest full of running and hard work
I’m genuinely excited about Ivan Jurić joining us! This guy is a tactical mastermind with a track record of getting the most out of his squads, even when the odds are stacked against him. His high-pressing, all-energy style is exactly what we need: hard work, resilience, and a focus on developing players. At Hellas Verona, Jurić turned a modest team into a disciplined, giant-slaying side, and at Torino, he rebuilt their squad with grit and tactical brilliance. He’s known for transforming young or underrated players into serious assets-a perfect match for our tradition of nurturing talent. Sure, it might take a little time for the team to adapt to his intense system, but once it clicks, I can see us becoming a tough side to play against again. Let’s get behind him and the team-exciting times ahead COYR 🔴⚪⚽
And in Roma kept 2 giant players such as hunmels and paredes on the bench! He even adapted cristante (midfielder) as central back instead of letting the best defender of the last champions league play.... he is an idiot and incompetent. I'm very sorry for you guys!
Actually think that's a better appointment than Van Nistelrooy to Leicester or Pereira to Wolves Problem is they left Martin's sacking way too late so damage might already be done
Like most teams in the Championship, when promoted they all tend to struggle because of the gulf between the premier league and Championship. As a saints fan, I really enjoy the Championship, its an excellent league with many good quality ex premier league clubs. Good refereeing, not so much of the diving and cheating players as in the premier league, not so much dissent from players towards officials and no VAR! Premier league is a yawn, top clubs like Liverpool, Man C, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Man Utd etc just dominate the top half of the table. Everyone else just makes the numbers up!

Must admit, ive never heard of him.
must admit southampton have one of the best managers in the pl
Good luck!
He'll do well in the Championship.
Was thinking exactly the same thing 😂🤣
On point 😂
I looked at their squad the other day they lack talent man. Wolves and Ipswich might get out of relegation no chance Southampton.

Saints 5-0 Fulham. This Sunday. No problem. If this score doesn't happen I'll be jolly cross and demand that Juric leaves immediately.
Hope he likes the championship. I'd be surprised if this will help. Why not Moyes!?
Moyes knew they are doomed relegated, why take the job?
Because Moyes thinks that Southampton are tinpot. 🤣
@@PaganMin-1966 probably true
Only 2 English coaches in the Premier League now. That is hugely embarrassing. Home grown coaches really need improving!
That imminent, he can only help them back to relegation if he managed to help them stay then that's a miracle
Good luck to Saints
Absolutely no one can save them. This guys task will not be to avoid relegation, it’ll be to bounce back for the 26/27 season.

Thank god super Danny röhl is staying wish the saints the best of luck this season though
Relegation confirm
Totally agree.

There’s no way he’s 49 years old… 😂
How is his English? Because I know that he has had his managerial through the years in Italy so far
Who is Ivan Durich?
long story short. hes basically up there with ange, klopp and arteta
Genoa not Girona
Hahaha I’ve heard the same thing 😅

@@alexis8303 It was one job, look at the career
😂 no way! He was terrible at Roma and now he's there. Well I wish them luck but this will not work out the way they hope.
Very interesting.
He already got sacked at Roma??😂😂
They are going down end of
We know. The chairman probably built that into his decision to hire this guy.
So are fleetweed town
So many foregneirs why not Steve bruce or something like that?
Common
Who?
The pronunciation is hideous. Genoa are not Girona, they're not even in the same country
Should have kept Russell Martin he would have got them back up next season.
This guy will leave before the end of this season.
Actually think that's a better appointment than Van Nistelrooy to Leicester or Pereira to Wolves

Yeah but Southampton aren’t even that good to be in the Premier League. They should have stayed in the Championship.

They shud have stayed in the championship...? Totaly dumb comment...!

Here's your gold medal 🏅
First at what? The high jump??
Nope because Southampton are going to get relegated straight back down to the Championship. 😂🤣🤣🤣
