Hey! Thank you for making such an informative video. I'm preparing my proposal for doing a PhD and wanted to use Ethnographic research methods. My topic remains around feminism, wanted to study the impact of few policies over the lives of women. Is there anything you could suggest me, some basic tips or anything? Thank you. 🧡
I would recommend looking into the work of Judith Butler to get a solid basis for feminist studies, and look at the work of Michel Foucault to understand power dynamics relative to society. Butler will refer to Foucault often so maybe find a brief video to summarize some of Foucault basic ideas prior to getting into Butler. Understanding these two authors first will provide a solid foundation for all your work moving forward. Best of luck!
It tooj me 2 weeks to read 5 chapters and this explained it soo well, and I understood it right away . But does anyone know how to apply this to Human rights field. The examples i could only find were from criminology or psychology or social.
Thank you for watching! There are numerous examples of the use of qualitative analysis with regard to human rights. Explore using the search terms "qualitative analysis in human rights research" and you will find a plethora of information and examples. Best wishes as you continue to learn. Also, you might consider watching my Mixed Methods video which gives a great overview of applying different types of statistical and qualitative tests for understanding.

Good day Dr. Lorin Mayo, can I use this video for my lecture to be uploaded here in YT while I appear at the lower left corner while I'm lecturing? It's a requirement for my Advanced Research in the DPA program. I'll give due credits to the video if you will allow me.
@@LorinMayoThank you for responding! Yes that was my plan in case you're okay with it. I'm taking up Doctor in Public Administration in Saint Paul University Philippines and Ethnography is my topic for discussion as a requirement for my Advanced Research subject. P.S. I started making my own scribe but I'm having difficulties with it. May I ask what particular apps did you use to make your scribe?
@@aggabaomj I am not comfortable with separating the audio and video on this video. Thank you for asking but I cannot agree to that. I used Videoscribe for this one. Some other apps which are easy to use are Toonly or PowToon. They have scribe features as well as other delivery methods. See th-cam.com/video/R6I3uYxxvOs/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/XLuwm2MAs-Y/w-d-xo.html for alternatives. They are both done using PowToon. Best wishes as you pursue your DPA! Feel free to contact me if I might help you in other ways.
@@LorinMayo unintentionally, yes.. lol. And I believe it has began to change my life, but it also almost caused me suicide lol. so.. maybe it's a bit experimental, all I know is I was going through the worst 2 years if my life and now I've found purpose and meaning again.

good night mom ❤️ i'm indonesian. it's so hard for me to understanding your explaination video about ethnographic. i'm studying in english departement. please help me mom❤️.
There is closed caption on the video and if you can read English, you should be able to follow the narrative. If you do not read English, there are several youtube videos on how to translate youtube videos which I am sure you will find helpful.

I'm a senior high student in the Philippines and really need to make a project about Ethnography.

It is the order/format of a scientific research paper. This is easily searched/googled for more information.
how familiar are you with ethnography research through high tech advanced software, where the people aren't actually aware?
