Jacob speaks of his love of choral music, and how a lot of that came from old English church buildings. And here you are singing this in a beautiful church building, outworking this masterpiece in its natural setting 😊 Sang with such incredible beauty and control. Amazing 👏
We have now performed this piece in Carnegie Hall, a local concert venue, and a couple of churches. We definitely agree that the church is where this sound belongs. Thank you for your comments! 🫶
AMAZING that you managed to capture this incredibly challenging piece live (without the tuning trickery on the Jacob Collier album). Very moving. Congratulations!
Superbe et sublime... Merci pour cette très belle et excellente adaptation. Une merveilleuse interprétation d'une pièce musicale d'un artiste que j'admire énormément. Bravo ! Un papy jardinier -musicien du sud de France...🏡🌴🍓🎶🎵🎶🌞...........👋
Absolutely gorgeous. This has become one of my favorite choral pieces ever and you did it beautifully. And soo satisfying to see the immediate audience response. I'd have leapt to my feel as well!
This is a piece of art. From the incomparable composition to the masterful performance. Hundreds of years from now this will be heard and recognized as the sound genious of Jacob Collier. The audience knows the talent of singers inspired by the music. They know they are hearing history.
Wow! This is one of my favourite choral works. I’ve listed to it countless times with the Aeolians of Oakwood and the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers. But I must say your version is completely otherworldly and divine. Thank you so much, this is my new favourite version!
Hello, choir! I can’t get enough of your rendition-it’s truly stunning what you’ve chosen to do with your youth. The sensitivity, the impeccable technique, the harmony in every detail, the way the bass stands out (so rare among choirs), the powerful sopranos, and the fluidity in each singer’s movements… I’m completely enchanted, drawn in by all of you. You’ve gained a fan here in Brazil, and I sincerely hope more people discover your talent and that you achieve all the success you deserve (which is always the result of hard work and dedication). Huge compliments to the conductor-precise and inspiring, drawing out the very best in you live! PS: I'm a bass too. lololololol
This is so impressive and moving! How is it even possible to sing this? Congratulations from Belgium!! (and an awful lot of respect for every single choir member and the choir director! Loved the differences in dynamics as well!)
I keep zooming to see if this video matches the singers because it just sounds WAY to perfect. So glad to say that it's real and amazing. Great expressive dynamics, nearly perfect intonation and BRAVA to those sopranos and their high "Ds" at the end of the piece. Congratulations!!
TH-cam keeps giving me new performances of this to listen to and I keep clicking. The altos are coming through a bit louder on this recording - and the basses less, probably due to the distance in the room. But it sounds like a terrific performance. Just wish I could find 40-odd people to sing it with.
Intonation was impeccable. Interpretation was spot on. Great job, Maestro and your superb choir! (Too bad the recording engineer of this video angle wasn't aware of the extreme dynamic levels of this piece to prevent the distortion of the fortes leading up to the triple fortes.) A performance completely worthy of showcasing at a state ACDA conference. This was worthy of a national conference. Bravo!
Thank you so much for your comments. The students definitely put their everything into this performance. A lot of them were in tears during the last 30 seconds and past the cut off. Our school is actually performing at the ACDA National Conference in Dallas this March. Thanks again! 🫶
Beautiful! After Jacob posted his score video I briefly considered suggesting this for my choir but I assumed it would be to hard. You guys nailed it though! Edit: just realized you are the group that performed with him, that makes sense haha
@@masvocal2765 Thanks! I didn't mean *my* choir though, just the choir I am in 😅 I think we might try ❤ (human heart) first though, that seems like a better entry-Jacob Collier song, I'm assuming this one is for really high level choirs, right?
This was at the 2024 Florida American Choral Director’s Association conference a couple weeks back. Conference attendees choose between conference concerts and clinics to attend. Our full program is also on our TH-cam page. Thank you for listening. ❤❤
MAS Vocal Ensemble, extraordinary for any choir and for a high school choir, incredible! Have to ask. Is this from the original or the 'simplified' score?
A very dear friend died the other day. This sums up perfectly what she lived for.
RIP, my friend.
Our condolences. ❤
Good heavens... just made me cry at my local coffee shop. Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to reply. My students find inspiring others very motivating. If you don’t mind telling us, what city are you in?
GGs sopranos! 👏 Well done everyone
This has to be one of the best recordings I've ever heard of this piece. Congrats to you all!!!
Thanks for listening❤
The guy in the grey shirt in the audience at 5:42 is the best part. Dude took his glasses off to listen better
He is crying, like me now 🥺
wanted to say the same thing XD

I love how the audience without hesitation leapt to its feet in appreciation. I would have too.

I'm sorry are these youth? They handle dynamics like they're on a volume slider---alllll together, and their blend is unreal. This is wonderful.
