We are having the same wet stuff here on this side of the pond - ugh. At least Tom's bike fell on the NDS... not mucking up the RD. Minor dings add character...
Far too much rain this summer so hoping for a decent run of sun soon 🤞 Scratched my crank arm up the other day Frank so I’ll add that to the character category, very true though!!
I see you did Mott Street on this ride. You should do all 5 of the hills at Highbeech - Mott St, Lippits Lane, Wellington Hill, Avey Lane and Claypit Hill.
Thanks for the reccos!! I actually have a biiiig Essex loop planned come summer so I will try and add there to it if they aren’t already there. Thanks for watching mate 🤟🙏
@@therookiecyclist If you check the map, all 5 hills end at the same place. Lippets Lane branches right off Mott St. Wellington and Avery Lane are the same but just a mile or so further on/.
Always good to expand one's cycling horizons! I'm also hoping to move beyond Surrey & Kent and have a route planned to the Chilterns this weekend. Not sure I'm going to enjoy the roads in & out of London though, I'm hoping the Uxbridge rd through Southall & Hillingdon isn't too unpleasant, but maybe train is the better option. I've walked a lot in Essex but haven't cycled there yet, it's on my to do list.
Hoe Lane Abridge, where I live! Essex is great for cycling, get away into the countryside and it's mostly rolling quiet country lanes. And it ain't all flat...
It deffo is not all flat that’s for sure!! People have told me forever Essex is flat so there’s me thinking I was in for an easy one….deffo wasn’t haha!! Thanks for watching Sean ✌️✌️
This was only my third time including ride London through Essex, didn’t think it was as good as the Surrey one to be honest but worth doing if you haven’t yet don’t it!! Not sure on next years just yet!! You going to?? ✌️✌️
Nice! Looks like a Sunday? Less traffic and white vans than I remember 😅
Ahh it was a Thursday, probably why it was so quiet!! Loved it there though! Thanks for watching Tom ✌️

Essex is a big county. Would be interesting to get a feel for the route taken, start and finish points, with other areas of interest.
Hi Gary, I will next time for sure, planning on heading back a few times this year so I’ll map it out and out a Komoot route up 👌👌
hopefully going to do a few rides further afield possibly even some Audax rides
Great idea Ray, got one coming up myself actually!! Good luck ✌️✌️

I'm glad the 3rd thing didn't happen! It's always good to venture out of Surrey.
Indeed! I was hoping it wouldn’t, made it sound like I was wishing it would haha

Totally agree!! I think go for the train just in case!! Btw, chalkpit was tackled this week, video coming soon!!!! 👍👍

Toms accident is one thing what worries me about getting carbon bars, so easy to do. Good video again though enjoyed it
Ahh well, Tom’s bike is Titanium so…I reckon it could take a walloping if it needed to. Luckily only hit the bar ends 🤞🤞 Thanks for watching Tom ✌️✌️
Not done any cycling in Essex. Did Surrey Ride London a few years agi, but not tempted by the Essex one. You doing it next year?

@therookiecyclist not entered yet so probably too late. I've been a bit put off by the cost and the many comments saying it is nor as good as Surrey.
@@mrewers2316 It is good, for me it lags quite a bit in the middle not sure why but…it’s deffo worth a go I reckon!
