    Good afternoon Terry, I've a quandary where I have been receiving a bill from Irish Water as they have me registered as a business account even though I've no land, business, farm or a shared water supply with anyone. When I bought the house I got a substantial bill from my local council, and I paid it after querying it, and was told that "they didn't know why" my bill as a single man living alone was so high but that I "didn't have a leak" according to the meter readings, I have refused to pay subsequent bills now coming from Irish Water, and have plenty of email correspondence with them. I told them I would be happy to change my account to domestic as soon as they refund me and cancel the bill that's now outstanding, on this matter they will not communicate. The local authority collected to money as "an agent of Irish Water". Any advice is greatly appreciated. Great videos keep 'em coming.

      Denis, thanks for the comment. You would need to arrange a consultation if you want legal advice.

    Hi Terry, once I pay off my mortgage should I bring documents to the Registry of Deeds AND Land Registry as well or getting all documents in Registry of Deeds stamped will suffice

      No, your property ownership should already be registered in one of the 2 registries. So you can do what you like with your deeds, once you have paid the mortgage.

    As regards Adverse Possession, City Councils can assume ownership of property in a city where no deeds are registered with the Registry of Deeds as much of the historic property in city centre locations was not registered. Is that correct Terrry?

      And I'm aware of the PRA.

      @@terrygorry Thanks for your honesty Terry, it was just an academic question that I'm confused on as well.

    Hi does anyone know how long first time land registry take?

    • @terrygorry
      @terrygorry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could take up to 6 months, depending on the property, where it's located, and other factors. Covid is not helping with speed in PRA.

      Is it not compulsory to have to register a house in Ireland?
