I used to just warm up with an empty barbell, but recently I have been warming up the opposing muscle groups first and it feels so much better when I start benching and (this bit is probably in my head) I even feel stronger when I bench now.
@@lematador3934 Generallly if I'm pressing, I'll do some vertical pulling so I'll do 2x20 on a neutral grip lat pull down, I always wear a jumper too as it's winter here and it's cold! But helps me get really warm and with the pulling, just do it to the point of warming up, not struggling
@@lematador3934 Pretty much the same for me. I will do a few sets (2-3) of lat pull-downs on a light weight, just until I start feeling that there's blood getting into my muscles and they're warming up. And then proceed to benching with only the barbell, adding weight as I go.

Tom Gregory I watched the live stream and I know all during training he was projected to bench 280+ so I was wondering if Sebastian has all his athletes bench that heavy that close to the meet, or only Graham.
140 Horse I had a feeling he would not hit 280+ the squats take a lot out of you plus hixsy used to strongman where it’s one advent 15 minutes later another powerlifting is a long wait between lifts I found it hard all the waiting around so has many strong men

Yeah I generally warm up my lats before pressing and it really does make a big difference to weights that I'm lifting!

They stated prior to the meet that the goal was 290kg. He wanted to go 440, 290, 412.5 to break the world record by 2.5kg
