Cheers Belinda! VERY WELL DONE👍🏻! Thoroughly enjoyed your BEST production yet and along with your blog, we all know a lot more about Saul!!! I definitely need to get the book!! Thank you Belinda😀👍🏻
Barry, thank you, this makes me so happy haha :) saul has other monologues published of him too though I personally quite liked the idea of reading his quotes!
Hi Belinda, I was lucky to get to see Saul's exhibition in Tokyo. When it comes to London again, i recommend you to see it, his pictures viewed in person are really special. Also, one of the best books on Saul Leiter's work is "Early Color", I think you would enjoy it. Cheers!
I enjoy this format because these are books that I might get myself, there is no equivalent to actually seeing the prints yourself. Also I'd never actually come across this guy before and his work is pretty sweet. Toot toot
HAHA thanks for the toot, appreciated :) There's a back story to Saul's career but basically he was only 'discovered' in his 70s and only actually became well-known in his 80s
Thanks for the fantastic video! I've been getting more and more obsessed with Saul Leiter and trying to watch everything I can about him. I like your thoughtful approach and putting his work into historical context. I just went to our awesome bookstore Powell's here in Portland and purchased the book, will be studying it and enjoying thoroughly. Keep up the good work!
@@BelindaJiao I don't know who's who in photography, never formally studying, and never really interested in watching videos on them. After you Fan Ho video and this one, I realize I am missing out I do think it would be interesting to see you go out and document yourself trying apply some of the points, and then critiquing your own attempt.
@@BelindaJiao I am! Specifically Japanese photobooks, but I have favourites outside of that collection (Saul Leiter is one of them), and I actually already own this book but didn't give it enough time, so I'll need to revisit it again!
very difficult explains the talent of Saul, these shots look like a man from another planet multiply by 100, many have copied but never failed are genius, it remains one of the best street photos. Alain
I enjoyed it a lot, it was very interesting and very well made. Well done Belinda! I wonder if you would make a video about your take on self portraits?
Armin, so glad to hear! Defos quite a 'nerdy' episode about art and history and whatnot, glad you enjoyed :) Oh cool idea, thanks for the suggestion - is this what you are experimenting with lately?
You need to allow just a few more frames in between your audio edits to allow them to breathe. Otherwise fine....Saul is obviously one of the really great street photographers..
Thank you for sharing.
Well done.
Amazing.
Congrats.

Dominique, welcome :) are there other photographers you'd want a video on?
@@BelindaJiao Hi, Belinda! Thanks for asking. Beside Ho and Leiter , I am a big fan of Manos, Mann, Haas, Harvey, Iturbide and Webb

The video and the blog were excellent. Took me a few days to get through it all, but like your presentation style.
heya, thank you so much for this amazing feedback! if I were to do more photographer features, who would you be interested in reading about? :)

Japanese streetscapes yea? :)

Alain, Saul is truly one of a kind :)

So thrilled that you’re doing a video on Saul😀👍🏻! Your blog was outstanding, so I know this is going to be amazing!!!!
Barry, indeed when I planned the blog I was thinking of doing a video on Saul that goes with it!

hey Mike, thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't aware myself. Indeed, his work is mesmerising to watch :)
