Wear gloves bro, and you are right tire choice is critical. Also the nutrition and hydration. Jacks fruits healthy bars will help, get also some gels and liquid carbs easy to consume. Good luck on the race bro, you have your training rides around Cebu. Your good!
Thank you! Yup bought some gels for the nutrition side of the race. I'll probably run two bottles and a hydration pack. We'll see.
Stay safe, always!
Thanks!
I used to wear gloves on every ride, it really helps keeping the grip especially on chunky, gnarly sections Ride Safe!
I know. I just never use it and prefer no gloves. But I'm thinking about it. IT depends on how feel during the training rides
I always wear gloves. Stops your hands getting cut to ribbons if you have a bad crash. Happened to me once and I cut my palm wide open. Always wear gloves now with a leather palm section. No exceptions.
No boring days indeed
all day every day hahhah
I also have 35c panaracer slims. Im planning to use it for the UCI Gravel race but when I watched the track read I immediately ordered a 38c knobby tires haha see u on the event!
Nice! hahah Yup after watching the video, it became clear the 35c slicks would be the wrong choice. It could definitely do it, but I would be timid on the gnarlier sections. I'd rather have the confidence to go fast on the rocky sections.
amping always sir
Thanks!
Carlo, what handlebars are you running?
These th-cam.com/video/o21sPLWBkng/w-d-xo.html
sir carlo, can i have the map of this route if u have, thank you.
Sure here www.strava.com/activities/6800101536
Sir Carlo are you using 11-42 cogs? Thanks
yup!
Gloves protect your hands from becoming red tocino when u crash
good point. Will put this into consideration
1st.. ride safe idol..🙏
Thanks!
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😵😵
hahaa
Cheering you on for the UCI event! What tires did you get for that?
Will reveal soon lol
Hi! Does this kind of event leave trauma/phobia in your body? I overshoot twice and the last one put a whole on my knee. Everytime i'm descending, i tend to overthink and nanginginig katawan ko.
I had a crash sometime last year (or was it 2020?). I was going down a concrete road and my tire slipped on some moss. After that crash, I definitely felt timid going downhill. Eventually that feeling disappeared. I don't go down super fast, but I dont over brake as well.
For this crash, no "trauma" whatsoever. Either I got used to it or this honestly wasn't as scary. I wasn't going as fast (it is a rocky downhill) and the crash wasn't as hard (despite all the scratches on my leg).
those nasty wounds become beautiful scars
hahah Hope so!
Carlo, do you run all your tires tubeless?
Another set of battle scars earned, glad you're safe.
I like to run all my tires tubeless. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my back tire (on the 700c set) to seal. So the back tire has a tube.
Off roads or not full gears are very important for safety purposes. You need to wear gloves jod sir carlo para safety kong ma crash ka kay once ma crash ka 1st jod maigo ang palm kay mao man itukod kong ma crash
Mao lagi. Yup I will put it into consideration. Safety is always a good reason
Crushing is part of cycling. But still, ride safe always...
Yup! Haven't had a crash in a while haha fortunately nothing serious
uhm. right tires but wrong terrain siguro Sir hahaha. jk
hahaha mao!
