  • Around 7,600 years ago, people in the Great Basin began using side notched projectile points, called Northern Side Notched, which are different from earlier stemmed and lanceolate styles. This change in stone tool technology may also reflect changes in other cultural practices in response to Middle Holocene environmental changes, such as the Great Basin becoming hotter and drier during, as well as the Mt. Mazama eruption. In this video I flintknap a replica of a Northern Side Notched Projectile point and discuss the archaeology of the Ancestral Indigenous peoples who made them.

I am sorry to overwhelm your comment box, but I was hoping you could demonstrate how a corner tang knife was hafted to a handle, I would hope you would know how this was done... I have pondered and have a few idea's, but I am not skilled enough to knap an exceptable corner tang... Thanks for your consideration, sir!

You’re not overwhelming, it’s all good. Sadly it’s kind of a mystery to me as well…

Where do you live? Would you give classes, or in person instructions? Also, where can I get that big antler bopper? So many questions. ..:)
