I have never considered myself artistic in a literal interperative sense. I have always been unable to replicate the styles or techniques of "Great Artist". I just felt tremendously excited when I haphazardly stumbled upon these types of videos. There is never anything symetrical or duplicate in space. I may have just found my niche.
I am being completely genuine here, i am trying to learn spray paint art myself and your videos have been amazing help and inspiration. Thanks to you sir
Thanks, best one so far. I've wrecked a few paintings trying to paint the planet rings. Most artists never say whether they use gloss or not. Also, I now know to use clear, to keep the surface wet. I'm a beginner and paint drips from my can even when I shake it, must be cheap, or I should spray further away.
I have tried to "recreate" some of your stuff and it looks like I had a stroke. Your work is fantastic, I hope you never stop posting videos and making amazing art.
I remember when I used to do this. It was so fun and the results were amazing. I wish I could get inspired to do it again. Your videos definitely help. Your work is amazing!
Hey Brandon I was wondering if you can do a technique video about how to use the glossy magazine Paper for mountains and galaxy's using stencils. I was also wondering how you create your stencils for different paintings too. Thanks
thanks for the entries everyone six days until contest ends. I would prefer to see a planet with rings on both sides just so you all know.but im not counting out the videos with rings on one side only.
Any thin cardboard or thick paper that has a semi glossy to glossy side will work. You can even use the cardboard that products come in. Even cereal boxes,,, as long as its glossy
Yeah, that is clear gloss rustoleum spray paint he had there. It keeps your paint wet so that you get a blend effect instead of a smeared or scratched look. Also protects your paints!
Use a poster board as your canvas. It needs to have a glossy type finish on it. Use magazine paper, or the fancy kind in your mums magazine. Use old pots and pans lids, spray paint cap, anything cool that's circular for your planet stencil. I use krylon paint, but any hardware store has generic paint and other types too. Ps love your vids
Heya! Thanks for posting! I'm planning to do space scenes on my vehicle, but I'm a complete newb when it comes to spray paint. Any tips for priming and sealing so it will withstand bad weather? I was planning to paint over portions of the windows too. . . Bad idea? Thanks in advance for any help you can give! 🙏
okay I just found this channel last night through Vsauce. I hadn't actually watched any of your videos yet, just subscribed so I could do it later. I'm watching this and I'm thinking... what the heck he's covering it all up, how is that going to.... *jaw drops* mind blown o.O yeah pretty much like that. That's really awesome man!
I never thought Of trying this type of Art. But u make it seem so Amazing! So i'm going to go ahead and try it, i think it will be REALLY HARD, can u post a video for Tips and The type of Spray Paint u are using, or other types.. thank you
Amazing! Great work :) i've got one question will this work on wood ( bamboo ) ? Cause i try to design my longboard and i really want to make something special! Thanks
thanks, but just because it hasnt been discovered yet doesnt mean it doesnt exist. but for me I dont worry about details like that I just paint what I like. thanks for watching.
Do you use the original spray tips or do you have better ones added? How do you prevent the paint from forming up around the stencil and leaving a big ring? Thanks
I must admit I'm impressed! I know of another technique I can share with you but it involves planks of wood. You could use my special marbling technique to get a nice planet Venus effect, use the planet ring and spray the entire thing black! But by the by, I might just try this someday!
hey! im india im also a spray painter! i started on march and im a very young spray painter i was wondering if you used glosst poster board or poster board for your painting? :) great work by the way!!! :)
I really wanna try spray paint art. 2 questions good sir. What sort of paper or board are you painting this onto and what exact colors are you using in this tutorial?
I don't understand when you say you're putting the white on "the opposite side of where the shading was". It looked to me that you put them both on the same side of the "planet", and the same side of the paper for both the black and the white. They were both sprayed at about the "6:00" position on the paper, so what do you mean that the white is on the "opposite" side? Please explain if you get the chance. Thanks.
Alend farhadi No, I really didn't, and still don't understand. I know nothing about art, and if that makes me stupid in your opinion, then I guess it will just have to be perceived that way, but I was genuinely wanting to know what he meant because I truly do not understand and would like to try to do this myself with full comprehension.
Sorry for late comment, but I am also confused, I think he just messed up and didn't want to start over or something. I think add more shading and then put it actually on the side that wasn't shaded? idk.
Incredible! I do have a question though, what kind of canvas are you using? I watched other tutorials and some used regular painting canvases, and others used glossy surfaces. Also, what brand of spray paint would you recommend; glossy or flat? I'm an artist and I want to expand my mediums and techniques, and so far I'm very fascinated and motivated to try this different method of painting. Thank you, you're very talented. (:
Also if you're looking for cheap poster board, go to wal-mart and there should be big pieces of poster board for a dollar each. that's where I get mine. and you can cut them down to the size canvas you want. just a friendly tip because I searched all over to get the right poster board.
Brandon I had several paintings on spacepaintings.com (i think that was the address) several years ago. Is there any place in the cyberworld I could look for them?
Great Job!! 1 Little Nit-Picky tho (just b/c I'm not sure/& am curious how it affects results), but that White you added was definitely not opposite side from the Black "shading" [you said to put it on opposite sides....& unless you rotated the entire board, it looks directly on top of one another]. ANyways, Thx 4 the Vid =-D
Using enamel paint or something else? Smooth the paper does not absorb quickly into the paint before you do anything you do with it? I thought on photo paper, plain paper is not My apologies if you do not understand what I wrote! :)
Does it have to be a full length video of the painting or can it be a short video of my painting after completion? I have no way to do a video longer than a few minutes is why I am asking.
Gloss paint and glossy paper. On my budget I use posterboards. 22 in by 28 in. (or 55.9 cm by 71.1 cm) I sometimes cut them in half. Wal-Mart is what I can afford, but this is a hobby for me so that's fine. Idk much about "fancy " equipment haha.
This is an awesome tutorial! One day I gotta get some cans and will definitely try it. It would be cool if you make more tutorials. Have the question what you were using at 3:26...is it transparent? Keep it up, you are a can-pioneer! :)
hey Brandon, i loved this video you have an amazing talent so, i'm gonna paint my room and i love to see a video about how can i pain it like you did with this one *-*
My jaw dropped when he took off the stencil and when he made the rings!! So beautiful!!!
I'm an acrylic painter, I am starting your technique cause you are freakin' amazing! Keep feeding us with new stuff Brandon!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way you flick the stars into place with your finger. Why oh why didn't I think of that. REALLY breathtaking!
You make it look so easy...
T Bacon because it is with that type of experience
I'm a beginner and I made a moon really easily. It's easy the
tbh*
Ya so hard do
I’ve tried this for the first time, and it came out nice, easy as hell
The background alone is amazing enough. It looks so hard to make. It blows my mind how easy it was for you!
Art doesn't have to be perfect, that's what makes it priceless
Ich bin ja total fasziniert von dieser Technik. So habe ich das noch nie gesehen. Einfach nur wow.
I am being completely genuine here, i am trying to learn spray paint art myself and your videos have been amazing help and inspiration. Thanks to you sir

When he lifted the stencil I immediately went: Whaaaaaaat? Amazing!
Karoline Digre we all did

Hey Brandon I was wondering if you can do a technique video about how to use the glossy magazine Paper for mountains and galaxy's using stencils. I was also wondering how you create your stencils for different paintings too.
Thanks
Eye for catching pictures!
God-given talent!
Good luck in the hereafter!
thanks for the entries everyone six days until contest ends. I would prefer to see a planet with rings on both sides just so you all know.but im not counting out the videos with rings on one side only.

Been missing your vids, so its awesome to see your vids again.
And I've been practising, going forwards.
hy my Indonesian people, really it's amazing,, your work truly captivating beautiful in the eye .... great artists of the world,, ... !!!!!
Also protects your paints!
yes I was using transparent glossy paint, and thank you
One of the best artists in the world.. Super

it is just a lid from something.you can find something that will work from around the house

This really beautiful. Can you tell me what is a planet stencil. Thank you
i am going to look over and videos again now and make a results video hopefully tonight.
Haven't done a painting in months. Think I'll finally pull myself together and make one so I can enter the contest. Seems awesome. Cool video too.
okay I just found this channel last night through Vsauce. I hadn't actually watched any of your videos yet, just subscribed so I could do it later. I'm watching this and I'm thinking... what the heck he's covering it all up, how is that going to.... *jaw drops* mind blown o.O yeah pretty much like that. That's really awesome man!

All I can say is wow I'm in love with your art so beautiful 😍
I do more surreal acrylic galaxies and this is an excellent tute, thanks for sharing.
thank you, I hope so too! Ill make you a nice one!
Fantastically I am a beginner please which colours you are of use.?
Thanks so much for this video. Will apply some of your techniques into my acrylic painting.
glossy enamel paint, coated paper absorbs paint less quickly.photo paper will work, but it is very thin and not very durable.
I never thought Of trying this type of Art. But u make it seem so Amazing! So i'm going to go ahead and try it, i think it will be REALLY HARD, can u post a video for Tips and The type of Spray Paint u are using, or other types.. thank you
yes its possible, but if you try it a few times you'll see why I do it in 2 steps.I think the way I do is just easier.
Thank you for the chance to enter! Good luck to everyone else who enters as well!
any of those is fine as long as I can be sure you painted it and as long as I can see what the planet rings look like. thanks
Amazing! Great work :) i've got one question will this work on wood ( bamboo ) ? Cause i try to design my longboard and i really want to make something special! Thanks
I have to say that tutorial was AMAZING! Very cool!
thanks, but just because it hasnt been discovered yet doesnt mean it doesnt exist. but for me I dont worry about details like that I just paint what I like. thanks for watching.

No problem. Hope to see some art from you soon!
This is awesome! If the weather is good enough (I have to do this outside) I'll enter for sure.
hey! im india im also a spray painter! i started on march and im a very young spray painter i was wondering if you used glosst poster board or poster board for your painting? :) great work by the way!!! :)
I really wanna try spray paint art. 2 questions good sir. What sort of paper or board are you painting this onto and what exact colors are you using in this tutorial?
All your paintings are amazing!

i know that you know what he means.you just want to waste peoples time and to be a smartass
Alend farhadi
No, I really didn't, and still don't understand. stevecytfme I was thinking the same thing! I guess maybe he means the opposite side of the planet? Like behind the planet? But I'm not sure.
Sorry for late comment, but I am also confused, I think he just messed up and didn't want to start over or something. I think add more shading and then put it actually on the side that wasn't shaded? idk.
Hi, may I also use an airbrush to paint such a beautiful artwork?
the home depot, im using glossy rustoleum and painters touch made by rustoleum
poster board paper from staples is what I use
Incredible! I do have a question though, what kind of canvas are you using? I watched other tutorials and some used regular painting canvases, and others used glossy surfaces. Thank you, you're very talented. (:
love the planet rings and your art
looking forward to your entry.
Amazing Brandon. Where did you get your planet stencil?
DEAN CARTOON any random lids work
could this be done on a Hallway wall with neon paint and blue light ?
is it possible to create this with out Dripping down walls
This has been so much help! Struggling with the rings but I'm sure If I keep at it I'll get it!! Xx
too, much, awsomeness... we have a lot of street painters and stuff here i Norway and i always get amused by the paintings. too cool hahaha
What sort of canvas are you painting on?
not replying for him but its usually poster board … you use gloss type paper so the paint isn't absorbed into the paper like others .
Also if you're looking for cheap poster board, go to wal-mart and there should be big pieces of poster board for a dollar each. that's where I get mine. and you can cut them down to the size canvas you want. just a friendly tip because I searched all over to get the right poster board.
Problem is.. I live in Denmark, haha
This is amazing, is it just regular spray paint you use or a particular kind?
thanks, yeah i guess i could have done it over but just wanted to show the real deal that sometimes they dont come out perfect.
I didn't mean like I actually think I can one up you. I would just feel weird posting a tutorial to a tutorial. I'm definitely going to enter though!
Looks great! Personally, I liked it without rings. But still, an awesome result that you made look all too easy!
Brandon I had several paintings on spacepaintings.com (i think that was the address) several years ago. Is there any place in the cyberworld I could look for them?
Awesome, dude! What sort of paper do you recommend painting on? Presumably it's glossy but thought I'd ask anyways.
sorry not sure then, try to upload it again today if you like.
I just approved a bunch of entries, you are good
thank you sorry you dont have any paint. maybe if you have 2 old cans of different colors laying around you can still do it..
approved! thanks for entering. looking good for your first try.
Great Job!! 1 Little Nit-Picky tho (just b/c I'm not sure/& am curious how it affects results), but that White you added was definitely not opposite side from the Black "shading" [you said to put it on opposite sides....& unless you rotated the entire board, it looks directly on top of one another]. Using enamel paint or something else?
Smooth the paper does not absorb quickly into the paint before you do anything you do with it?
I thought on photo paper, plain paper is not
My apologies if you do not understand what I wrote! :)
Oh my gosh..do you usr poster board or paper or what lol what do you use please answer it'll mean a lot :/ also where do you but your spray paints?._.
Does it have to be a full length video of the painting or can it be a short video of my painting after completion? I have no way to do a video longer than a few minutes is why I am asking.
What grade paper are you using? Plus what type of spray paint or does that matter? Is gloss or matte paint?
Gloss paint and glossy paper. On my budget I use posterboards. 22 in by 28 in. (or 55.9 cm by 71.1 cm) I sometimes cut them in half. Wal-Mart is what I can afford, but this is a hobby for me so that's fine. Idk much about "fancy " equipment haha.
what kind of paper is that i want to try it
poster board
+Jelyn Jastillana Poster board, but use the glossy side. Good luck on your creations bud. Don't forget to share as well, cheers!
I just have to say you ARE art!
Looking real good. I also do spray art if you fancy looking at my channel and I still love seeing the reaction when people see the stencil removed 😊
This is an awesome tutorial!
One day I gotta get some cans and will definitely try it.
It would be cool if you make more tutorials.
Have the question what you were using at 3:26...is it transparent?
Keep it up, you are a can-pioneer! :)
Cool and easy. Can't wait to try it. Thanks.
i live where it is still snowy so my paint doesnt work. i dont have a garage. do u have any suggestions of where i can paint. thanks
Great video man, what a work of art.
sorry not sure, if you have a home pc try it there is all i can suggest
HOLY CRAP. That is fucking amazing.
Zack Valentine um what
Kilua don't curse u don't know if very young kids are on here...
C R A P
Emmalee Rivera I think she can use language that she wants as long as she isn't bashing other people. Young kids shouldn't be on TH-cam.
that planet stensel,is that a special painter product or is it just a lid of a pot?
i didnt know if u noticed this or not but i dont see my recent entry in the video responses. it was a green saturn. just letting u know =)
hey Brandon, i loved this video you have an amazing talent
so, i'm gonna paint my room and i love to see a video about how can i pain it like you did with this one *-*
thank you, im sure you can do this.
