Putting together James and Peter’s comments on preventing a multitude of sins, I think they give us the key to conversion (aka change), and it is Charity!

I'm a little ashamed I never really studied the Book of James until now. I didn't know it was Jesus' half-brother that was the author of this epistle. Thank you for opening my eyes and heart to James. You made it sweet and simple.

Sticks and stone may break my bones, but it’s words that actually hurt me. For broken bones will heal and mend, but the broken heart sometimes never ends. -my version

When President Eyring was an Elder he spoke in my Stakes conference. My nonmember husband and I had just started our family and I had my first in nursery room watching over him to keep him quiet 🙄😬.
My ears perked up when I heard Elder Eyring say something about how faithful sisters without the Priesthood in their do have power through prayer to heal. 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻
I do not remember his exact words but it sure gave me comfort😊

    Brother Halverson,
I had an institute teacher give me this and I love it so much. I hope its okay for me to share it.
When saw we thee a hungered and fed we thee or a thirst and gave thee to drink? - the bread and water of the sacrament.
When saw we thee a stranger and took we thee in? - missionary work and baptism
When saw we thee in prison and visited thee ?- spirit prison genealogy.
When saw we thee naked and clothed thee - temple clothing.
The trifold mission of the Lord, bringing his children back to him. ❤❤

Not long after my husband died, l came across the talk President Nelson gave to the women in the October 2019 General Conference. My husband died on Conference weekend so I’d missed it. Im thankful that the Lord brought it to my attention.
The talk is called “Spiritual Treasures.”
There is a gem in this talk for single sisters, a paragraph where President Nelson instructs us-we who “don’t have” the Priesthood in our homes. Referring to what he was teaching, he said it would not be found in any manual but that we, the single sisters, can be instructed by the best tutor, which is the Holy Ghost, regarding the Priesthood in our homes.

I just wanted to thank you for the story and testimony about your experience with the grandma and the Temple sealing. My daughter will be sealed in January and many of our family are not members of the church and for 25 years since my own Temple sealing I have fretted about their continued reactions to not being able to go into the temple. I appreciate the words you shared to help me better explain to our family.

Good morning, Brother Halverson, I know you mentioned how you sit there as you teach and correct me if I am wrong. You are alone as you video these lesson, however as for me, you are as real as I sit here listening, I feel like I am in class lols taking down notes, I have I would say 3 notebooks with your lessons lols 😂 I so much enjoy your teachings, as I have said before I steal some of your points when I teach Sunday School myself. You bring the scriptures to life and we all thank you so much. 🙏 the story about the grandmother and her granddaughter story brought me to tears, as Temple Ordinance worker, you are so correct, it's our FAITH that takes us into the Sacred walls of the Temple, and yes it is not a place for partying, spectacting, 😢 it's so sacred, every time I go there and be ready by 5:15 am when called to be there at that or ready by 5:50 am I think to myself here we are, while the world still sleeps and I think about ancient times when the work was being performed then what a beautiful feeling. Thank you again Brother Halverson 🙏

All so very good. I have felt that some of this instruction is priceless for we don’t get it in quite the same way as in the Book of Mormon, and likewise, there is stuff in the book of Mormon. We just don’t get in the New Testament thus we need them both.

Resisting the devil can and will be easy to withstand if we recognize the situation. What if someone had an evil entity with them? What is their best option? Do they continue to live righteously? Stay positive? Pray continually?

  • @kensrobertson

When you were teaching about resisting the devil I thought about the power of agency to open the door for God to influence us. Perhaps Satan cannot influence us without our permission either. He was given permission to afflict Job, and his case against Job seemed to be tied to just being allowed to tempt him. If we give temptation permission by entertaining it in the least, then we've opened the door. I liken this to giving God permission to influence us by exercising faith, or desiring to believe, as Alma teaches.

Got thinking about your family members and noises
    Its okay
    Don’t have to redo
Honestly I love noises you talk about family members ❤
Its okay if a door is shut
    Footsteps, doggie has to bark,
Don’t you believe noises were going on inside the places that these letters were written?!
We love you and your family members ,prayers for all of you ❤️ ❤️📱🙏 19:45

Who is to blame for the sin ping pong:
Bro Halversons sister did something mean to him she is to blame, then Bro Halverson refused to forgive her and he is guilty of the greater sin, then his mom teaught them about this for the first time and she is to blame for not teaching her kids the doctrine.
😂 pretty sure that’s not actually how it works but was a funny thought haha

The CONDESCENSION of the Lord Jesus Christ refers to His leaving His high and holy station in heaven and coming to live as a man (as the Son of God) on earth, to accomplish the Atonement and Resurrection.
The CONDENSATION of Satan is the 'Mists of Darkness"

Here’s one more story about a little old lady and the temple - one day while my father was working at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, he was on a lunch break and a lady came up and asked where the coffee was - surprised by this my dad reminded her that we don’t serve coffee in the temple to which she replied that she did not know that, because apparently her neighbor friend who was a member had loaned the lady her recommend so she could go have lunch there because the food was so good. 😂
