As for songs: "Isolation" has an indie flavor "Out of Control" was in an anime (Psycho Pass) "Chain Reaction" is surprisingly super fun and light song :O
Bassist is also part of STRAIGHTENER. Def check them out. Main guitar is also part of ELLEGARDEN, a seminal j-rock group. They’re definitely the fun side and NCIS’s more experimental sound.
Oh man, what a treat! Good call on the vocals - I wouldn't have heard the Bush similarities but after you said it, I couldn't un-hear it. This was super unique. I can't really think of any other groups that sound like this. Maybe Karnivool to some degree? But I really enjoyed this track. The layers and harmonies are really complex, but they flow so nicely in and out of one another. And that picking is ridiculous. Hints of Tom Morello in the solo there. This was fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
A bit light for my taste, but still pretty damn cool. New to me too, which I always like, but man, ever since I started digging into J-rock and J-metal a couple of years ago it's felt like Japan has been holding out on us all these years! It's feels like a never ending rabbit hole of talented musicians. I'm okay with that.
Another show-off piece from the bassist th-cam.com/video/ZFTqVUga6Ns/w-d-xo.html Sound only, not an official video though Thanx for picking up this band!
I enjoyed that....liked his voice and the complexity of the music.....oddly, I felt a Spanish influence both in the picking and the beginning rhythm of the chorus which threw me off in terms of getting my head around the rest of the song. I listened to it a second time and it was still there for me.....but still liked it a lot....thanks for sharing!
Nice video man. I'm a massive fan of Nothing's Carved in Stone ever since 2015 and know their discography inside and out. They have many really good songs but one I would recommend that's on youtube with a music video is "Cold Reason." It's from their second album from 2010 so it's a bit different to "Milestone." They are a band that change their sound every album but they still sound like them if that makes sense. The bassist is insane and who inspired me to pick up the bass. Their last two mainline albums to me have been weaker and are trending that way unfortunately but I think they have just gone in a direction which doesn't fit my taste. They have released an album each year since their inception for the exception of 2017 which is insane.

Amazing song by an underrated band. The guitarist (Shinichi Ubukata) was in Ellegarden as well.
The bassist was like a squirrel on crack :P

Glad you also enjoyed this! Very complex layering indeed but overall still carries a solid narrative. Good song overall.

Same here! Loving expanding my musical universe with Japan these days.
