The October 2024 Climb Portal deserves honorable mention as it is Mt. Hamilton, which, when ridden at 125% "Heroic" gradient was 1574 uninterrupted meters of climbing that took me 86 minutes at 302 watts.
Yeah I mentioned it in the climb portal section. Does the 125 scaling make it do that it doesn’t have the long flat section in the middle? I know the real life climb has a pretty long flat and sometimes even downhill section
I did Ventoux once. No need to do it again. It was brutal. I know the climb portal lacks any scenery, but being able to see the steepness color coded is a plus for me.
I did the real mont Ventoux just after the COVID lockdowns, it is brutal and boring, especially the first half from Bedoin, Second half from Chalet Reynard is better for the views but the day I did the climb the peak was in the clouds so not much to see, in any case I will not be doing it on Zwift :)
@@bonn1771 Ventoux is definitely a solid challenging climb. As someone who likes the gamification aspect of Zwift, I just wish they had done more (like ADZ). Ride on!
Sorry I wasn't clear - was referring to the Mt. Fuji rumored for Makuri Islands that's been floating around (4 years later and nothing yet lol). The current climb portal one is definitely a solid climb and would fall in second if it weren't for the rotation calendar
@@ZRaceCentral I would love for Mount Fuji to become a regular on Makuri. It would be the third area that would have a major climb that would be accessible, but not like Innsbruck, Richmond, or Scotland where the "climb" is integral to that world's rides.
@@ZRaceCentralI did Mt Fuji this morning took me a hour 23 it’s not bad climb I enjoyed it yes it’s long but not really steep I recommend if you want a good tempo ride
I would have made the climb portal an honourable mention, possibly noting with one or two climbs that have been on the climb portal. I would have stuck with the top 5 being 5 climbs that are always available. (yes climbs outside of Watopia count as you can ride them at anytime including outside of the calendar by creating a group ride which can still be done solo) My list: (not the hardest, just favourite) 1. Volcano Alpe du Zwift 2. The Grade 3. Ventoux 4. Box Hill 5. Volcano
I initially thought it was the volume level/mic too close but I think you are correct. I’ll lower it and give ut a try for the next video. Thanks for the pointer!
I’m probably not the best person to ask for this advice, but here is what I generally do: on rides that are less than 1 hr I’ll generally just have water with electrolytes. Anything longer I’ll try to have a bar or some kind of snack before, after, and most times during the ride. I personally never take gels (never tried). Sorry, nutrition is definitely not a strong spot for me lol
No radio tower? I would still put it on there even though it isn't as long. I personally haven't done Ventoux in its entirety yet mainly due to the fact that it is in the rotating worlds. That is the one other thing that I hate about it other than its length.
Road to Sky probably has the most elevation per hour, especially if you do an immediate U-turn and go up Epic KOM reverse. This eliminates ~10 minutes going through the jungle. Finish Epic KOM then proceed to the radio tower and just session that.
@@adamwebclimb portal could also be a good option - set it to 125% and your feet per hour will be much higher than most of the regularly available climbs
I’ve ridden up both the actual Huez and Ventoux , and Huez on the game, yet to do Ventoux on the game, should get off my butt and do it, I do remember the top of Ventoux being 22%.

Very impressive! I can't quite imagine sitting in my wattbike for the time I need to get up that distance 😂
U have 310w FTP?
@@bartix5839where do you see that?
No climb in Zwift is not too hard when our typical A cat Zwifter weights 50 kg and has FTP 400 W.

Mt. Fuji is on Zwift and is a rotation through the climb portal. If offered by itself, it would be between Ventoux and Alpe.

Are you doing any gells or snacks on climbs like this, im fairly new and did 740m recently but just with water, would you advise gels even indoor?

I would say the Radio Tower is harder than Epic KOM!
Doesn’t help that you have to climb up the epic kom just to get to the start of the radio tower 😅
What would be the best one for my double everest in a few months?
If you’re looking for most efficient, it would probably be radio tower reps. Most common is ADZ. Best of luck!

@adamweb I've done some tests and road to sky is about an hour slower per half everest
Good list mr ventoux was a slog
Agreed lol. At least give me my spinning wheel at the top
Nice video. I agree with these choices however Id swap Ventoux and the Alpe around but thats personal pref. 😅
They are definitely both tough climbs!
@@ZRaceCentral Ventoux is definitely worse for me. It's just soooo long. I got so bored.

Same. I’ve yet to find the motivation to give it a second go

The Grade really isn't one of the Top 5 hardest climbs - it's over in way less than 30 minutes for most people.

Ventoux pronounced Von Too :)
Keep forgetting thats
Ventop isnt exactly hard, its just extremely mental
Agreed.
Epic KOM is best and best looking. Climb portals 👎👎👎. Ven-Top 👎👎. La Reine OK but a bit meh 😑. Alpe pretty good 🙂.
Agreed on the Epic KOM. I personally would have climb portal visuals and ven top visuals as equals. Love the alpe.
