This song has always brought a tear to my eye. However ever since my husband died in Afghanistan 13 years ago I’m afraid the tears just flow when I hear it now. It’s such a beautiful song.
As an American, I cannot tell you how many times I have watched / listened to this beautiful British Battle Hymn…and without fail it produces a tear…a tear of pride!! To all the democratic nation’s military men/women and their families, thank you for your service!!!! Also, a special thank you for those service men, who in the words of an American president… we owe so much to those who gave their “last full measure of devotion”. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!!!
Although it's a very British patriotic song written to a slightly changed form of the middle section of Jupiter it never mentions Britain. It's part of what makes it special. Anyone, anywhere can sing it with pride.
It is especially an incredible song for our country right now, we are all absolutely terrified but also extremely angry for what has befallen our great nation, but we will fight for it, and bring about the fall of Keir Stalin, please beware USA it will come for you, I NEVER thought this would come to my country, but I will fight to the death for it, half scots, half english, patriot through and through, keep an eye on the news sir, it is just disgusting here

With love and great love from Germany to England.... UK... you are our real Allies in Europe our Anglo-Saxon family.... no other country could be this for us... ❤️🏴🇩🇪🙏
Disagreed. I think Star Spangled Banner is the greatest national anthem of them all, and one of the greatest pieces of art that displays patriotism and pride (coming from a German-Brit)
What are you talking about? You literally wrote Battle Hymn Of The Republic and Judy Garland smashed the song outta the park in memorial of JFK's Assassination.... Go look it up.

I'm a South African military musician veteran and have played this piece many times. Well done to the bands although I flinched every time the trombone did the countermarch in such tight formation as I was a tromboneplayer and I HATED countermarches in a confined band formation!! I also never realised that Luke Evans had such a good voice! Bravo to all!
I didn’t expect to be in tears so early in the programme.. you were so emotional Luke..and Wales is so proud of you. It was a fitting tribute to the men and women who have fought courageously over the years, so that we have our freedom . We can never repay them. Thank you ❤️
This song always makes me think of my father who served in Burma during the Second World War and it never fails bring a tear to my eyes. Thanks Dad, gone but not forgotten.
All my ancestors both served in both world wars my late mum's father lied about his age he was not old enough to be in world war 1 and served in world war 2 but he survived to old age but his pals never came back
I think the performance of this song must have been especially poignant at this festival because this song is a perfect tribute to not only the armed forces, but to the late Queen. I can’t think of a more accurate description of her than this hymn; I was actually quite disappointed that it wasn't sung at her funeral. She kept the promise she made on her 21st birthday and continued to serve her beloved country up until the very end, even meeting with her last Prime Minister two days before her passing. We will never, ever see anyone like her again. I know she must be smiling down at the King with pride. God bless Queen Elizabeth II, and God Save The King.
Mickie that was a very touching comment you made. The Queen did promise us that she would serve us and indeed she did. I still cannot believe she is gone. However Charles will be a good King he had two amazing parents who showed him the right path to go down. God Save the King. 🇬🇧♥️
I think it was not used at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth ll because it was featured at the funeral of Princess Diana, as it had apparently been Diana's favourite. I am sure there are tributes that will include this song. It is also so more fitting of those who serve both King and country.
Beautiful song beautifully sung. This should be our National Anthem as the anthem we have now is for the monarch not the nation. To all those who have served a very sincere and heartfelt....THANK YOU and for all those who have given their lives may they rest in peace and never be forgotten.

Luke Evans is Amazing, l love him singing l vow to the my countrey ,l listen to it every Day, l want him to sing it for my Funerel❤
As soon as I hear this magnificent song, my eyes just well up with tears, as I think of the millions of men, women and children who died in the Two World Wars, and who still give their lives up today fighting for our country and freedoms. A beautiful performance, and very fitting tribute to the fallen. Thank you. 🇬🇧🌹❤
I never expected them to open with I vow to thee my country , it was a very pleasant surprise . It always bowls me over that tune. Either as a solo or an instrumental is the best version.
this is the most ever beautiful and heartful hyme with meaning 🙏👨👩👦♥️God bless our late gracious qeen 🌹🙏
Stunning, hand on heart overwhelmed with emotion. So very beautiful, moving seeing that one flamed torch carried to the front tears flowed feeling the remnants of grief for the late Queen Elizabeth II. Thankyou for sharing. The royal family must feel her presence still at each official event.. Very poignant. 🕊️❤️
How proud his parents must be xx he makes my heart fit to burst xx true welsh man xxxxx
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.

Luke .you’ve done it again ! Incredible !
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it 🇬🇧
As i’m both British and Australian, I’ve always loved this hymn, and as
I listen a tear is rolling down my cheek.
For the love of country, and ultimately, for the Love of God and his kingdom. I pray for his return to rule the hearts of the English people (the dowry of Mary) and the hearts of mankind!
Beautiful rendition. May God be blessed.

Was in tears so emotional thinking of my Great grandfather and great uncle who both died in France 🇫🇷 in WW1 and all other service men and women who have died for our country 😪😪🙏❤️🙏❤️🇬🇧
