If this doesn't work for you, like it didn't for me, this was the fix for me: it needs to be plugged into a PC with USB (C). A regular socket or car-charger doesn't do the trick. I finally got mine to factory reset after trying 20 videos!

The button combo remains the same (Vol up+ power) but you need to have your phone plugged into either the charger or PC to get charging flow going to get to the menu. IT WILL NOT WORK if you dont have it plugged into anything

Before I hand it over to the shop for return, I already did the factory reset, and then the phone restarted. I didn't set up after that, and didn't check if my phone is completely 'empty'. Does it really being reset completely empty or there's a chance the shop can retrieved my files even after it 'factory reset' and the phone restarted? This Hard FACTORY Reset which I've done before without losing everything fucked me big time I literally made my phone forget that I ever had a phone lost all pictures messages phone numbers from years game data even though I don't play a lot of games I didn't know that it would wipe all my caches to make as though I've never bought a book or ever used Google play lost like 5 years of pictures not sure how to get them all back never did a hard reset just a regular one never knew you could go into that hardware and wipe everything
PLUG IT INTO A PC WITH USB C. Otherwise it will not work ;) Switch off, turn it on again by pressing power and louder keys. Then you enter recovery mode. choose reset to factory settings and go.
