    In this video watch a futon being assembled before your very eyes. Here you will see why authentic, Japanese futon are superior to anything on the market. (Hint: One advantage is--unlike virtually all others--traditional Japanese futon master-craftsmen don't use polyurethane foam pads. Polyurethane quickly loses "memory" and go flat and lumpy.)
    Futon Beds from Japan sells premium hand-crafted futons made by a true futon master in his small, family-fun business in Kochi, Japan.
    - Top Quality Available: Our master-crafted 100% authentic Japanese futons are hand-made by a small family-owned business in Kochi, Japan.
    - Lightweight, Compact and Easy to Store: Our traditional Japanese futons contain natural cotton filling and no heavy, bulky polyurethane foam pads.
    - Easy Care & Easy Clean: Our futons can be hand-washed & hung out to dry or taken to a dry cleaner that has an industrial sized washer/dryer.
    - A Much Healthier Choice: Our futons contain no synthetic foams/polyesters which quickly compress & get uncomfortable while also trapping moisture which becomes an incubator for mold/mildew.
    - 5 to 7 Years of Total Comfort! Futons provide amazing comfort while supporting your back. Our futons have NO polyurethane foam pads which quickly compress and get lumpy & uncomfortable
    If you're interested in getting a futon, discover why there really is nothing better on the market than an authentic Japanese made futon--the real thing!

    Just ordered a futon from you guys yesterday!! I almost went with a cheaper one, but you guys seem to care so much about what you do I decided to just go for it! I’ve never slept on a shikibuton, but sleeping on some blankets for a couple days was easy as 3.141592653589! (so not *that* easy lol) Can’t wait!!💗

      Thank you for your purchase! And thank you for your comment in here. The reality is "cheaper" is not always cheaper. Not only will you have a much better sleeping experience, you will also have a very quality shikibuton that will last you much longer now that you have chosen to order from us.

      Thanks Pickle Berry! Many of our customers are people who have lived in Japan. After sleeping on futon here, they don't want to (or simply can't!) sleep on Western style beds once they move back to their home countries. I've also had Japanese people who are living in the USA for business, etc. order our futon. Both groups have written back to tell me that our futon are the best they've ever slept on. Hi Smokefogs5. Awesome. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you out. As you said, these futon are hand crafted by true Master craftsmen in Kochi, Japan (The factory is about a 2 minute walk from my house), and the quality is amazing.

    • @Futonbedsfromjapan1
      @Futonbedsfromjapan1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Kylan G. The shikibuton is the "mattress" and the kakebuton is the matching "quilt". So you sleep on the shibuton and under the kakebuton. Weather is turning cold (at least in the northern hemisphere :) ) and the kakebuton is incredibly warm.

    • @Futonbedsfromjapan1
      @Futonbedsfromjapan1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Mel, Thank you for your interest and for taking the time to comment. Yes, that was a beautiful koi pattern. Unfortunately fabric patterns cycle through roughly every 6-8 months and you can't get any more of it once that pattern is gone.
      We will be adding some new patterns in the next month or two, so perhaps we will have a koi you like by then.

      We agree, Shelley! Fabric patterns cycle through roughly twice a year in Japan and once they're gone they never return again. They do tend to get replaced with similar themes however. That said, we too loved this pattern a lot and were sad to see it go.

    I'm thinking of replacing my beds with futons. unfortunately I'm unsure if bedbugs will be easily washed off. my state is getting bedbugs pretty bad, and I want a future plan. will futons be easily washed when bedbugs do arrive at your place?

    • @Futonbedsfromjapan1
      @Futonbedsfromjapan1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Hello Audrey, Thanks for your interest and for taking the time to comment. With traditional futon like ours, it is important to hang your futon out regularly. Not only does this allow the cotton to shed moisture, but sunlight actually kills the bugs that grow in bedding. If you follow the recommendations in our futon care video you should not have any issues with bedbugs. Futon Care Video is here: th-cam.com/video/HiJqCSTy1Lk/w-d-xo.html

      Yes, nerdly girl, having a futon is great for that. It opens up your whole room for multiple use instead of having it filled with a bed. Traditional Japanese futon fold up nicely and can fit in the bottom of a closet or linen shelf.

      @Futonbedsfromjapan1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Mr. Finny Thank you for taking the time to comment and thank you for your interest. There are a couple of things to consider. You don't have to have a tatami mat if you want a futon. Most of our customers in the west don't have tatami mats. If you would like to know more about this topic, please see this article on our website's blog: www.futonbedsfromjapan.com/futonblog/tatami-mats-carpet-wood-flooring-futon/
      It would likely be quite difficult (if not impossible) to find a place in the west that does custom futon. We do know of a tatami master here in Japan that does do them and also ships abroad. You can find them here: tatami-mat.net/goza.html
