I’m SO excited in seeing X231 getting picked back up again for another run! I’m trying to remember, I’m pretty sure it was this series you were making about the time I had found your channel, I don’t think it’s how I found your channel though. I remember sitting at lunch in school always glued to my phone watching you do this because it was so neat to watch all the intensive work it needed done! I’ll admit, I was bummed to see it get sidelined for 5J1113 but the D2 was still an as enjoyable project to watch! Anyways, long and the short of it: I’m excited for X231, lol!

Wow, I don't realize how long I've been following your channel. Back when you were doing all the cool old Iron walk around videos. So many cool projects too. Thank you, for all the high end entertainment. Watching your channel was and is a great way to learn new things.

I’m an early Ford tractor man and I have 9N52, the 52nd Ford N tractor ever built sitting outside awaiting restoration. While it’s an early regular production tractor, Ford was making small changes on the fly during the first year of production. The oil fill pipe was in a different location on the first few dozen tractors, the shift lever was chromed, the bolt arrangement in the governor was different, etc.. It’s hard enough to do an accurate restoration when a tractor was one of a small early production group much less what you face with a one of a kind! I’ll be following every video of your restoration efforts. Good luck and Godspeed!

BTW if you ever need to re-create the texture of a casting, I like to use a needle scaler and lean on it a bit, it'll give you that nice fresh cast iron look in a few minutes. Even if the repaired area was previously ground smooth. Way to make repairs invisible.

Just out of curiosity, can you remember what it cost to get that rear end housing repaired. I can't remember if you mentioned it in a previous video. I always found it strange that you would use that pitted piece of stock for your new shift fork, but I figured you had a plan for how to clean it up. I guess I never realized how burnt out you were with working on this tractor, thank goodness the Swamp Angel came along when she did. Speaking of the Swamp Angel, DANG she looks sexy sitting there in the background! That is one mean looking machine! LOVE IT

In a day and age when details are something people don't want to be confused with (grrr..🥵) it is so refreshing on your channel details are literally enshrined as THE relevant and germane issues of the discussion. Your detective work, your hard exhausting literal physical hands on in this day and age are so admirable. Good to see x231 getting a dust off and taken out to test the water see what interest there is, count me in, I followed it up to the stage it’s at so it will be good to get the screen time back on it and hopefully you get the reception it deserves to carry on the rebuild. Hard as it may seem trying to grow the Channel and bring in new interest , you just focus on your own passions and where you want to go with it, I think you will find the people that respect your work ethic and attention to detail follow your Chanel for your passion and focus on whatever you decide to work on. If you were rebuilding a toilet cistern I sure most of us that follow you regularly would all be exited to see the rebuild. ;-) good luck

I found your channel after the #5J113 series had started, so I apologize if this has already been answered. Have you been out to that MM engineer's brother's farm where #X231 and #x253 were rescued from? Either to search for lost parts (e.g. prototype 3-point), or to see what other prototypes might be hiding in the weeds? Not suggesting that you need to rescue them yourself, but just documenting the resting places to fill in the history of any of those machines would help with missing puzzle pieces in the history of those machines.

About time, I've been waiting for years. I enjoyed the Cat stuff, but restoring a one off prototype is more important than restoring 1 of many. My personal opinion. I do love you over the top details. Keep up the great work!

Very interested in picking up where you left off. I watched the series to the end. I was working on a MM Cocksutt at the time and was working on the powershift. I got it all fixed up! Had to build up and make new spines on the pto. Parts are rare.

Wow, my father had an Oliver Track Loader all his life. We did a lot of landscaping with it, dug out cellar holes with it and dug out cellars for mills in the mill yard. A really handy piece of equipment.

Looking forward to this one. Although, a revisit on x253 wouldn't be amiss either.

Don't know a thing about a Moline anything but this project looks like it will tax all your creative skills. Should be fun to watch.

Please do a video about the back story of how you found the tractors and the goings on in the picture at the Moline factory. I think that would be very interesting.

I'm surprised that prototype got into private hands. Usually they are destroyed or in factory museums.
