    What would I use at the eave edge to create an air intake at the eave so that air can enter under the metal panels & up to the ridge vent?
    I'm going to install a metal roof on my house & I'm thinking very seriously about buying your product.

      Take a look at a product called ProfileVent. There are other similar type products.

    Are the gaps of the corrugated sheet enough for the radiant barrier to work? What about the gaps of the diamond rib sheet? I'm having doubts on the latter though.

      Basically, it's how much "contact" you have. If you are over 60-70% of no contact go for it. Under that and you need a different roofing product or install process.

    I live in a hot tropical country. If I am going to use an insulated standing seam metal roof (with built-in 1 inch polyurethane foam) for my house, do I still need to install a radiant barrier (with an air gap) on the battens?

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  หลายเดือนก่อน

      First, if you are using foam on/below the metal roof, I assume you are doing a closed/non-vented attic?? If not, there no reason to put foam on the deck. This is like holding a jacket over your head...why?? But, Yes, if possible you ALWAYS want to install www.RoofingFoil.com Radiant Barrier can (effectively) double the r-value of your insulation (when the sun is shining) by dropping the external surface temperature.

    is atticfoil identical to the perforated double sided roofingfoil?

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, we have had so many homeowners and contractors use the foil in roofing applications we decided to do dedicated site just for these applications.

      thank you for your time answering questions. You are great. has anyone every told you they used atticfoil and made a survival blanket/sleeping bag like those mylar ones, or used it as a tarp? I'm thinking the "breatheability" aspect makes it superior to the vapor barrier ofmylar blankets

      We have heard of customers using it for many different things. We have had many customer fabricate tents/shade structures for BurningMan with great results.

      So the right this one is that the shiny foil must facing the space or up not another way around coz ive seen some the shiny foil facing the ground o come on, this is the right one i think.

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@leonardadalid1956 The foil can either face up or down as long as the foil faces an airspace. For example radiant barrier decking the foil side faces the attic (which is the airspace). But, it's BETTER to get the foil on TOP of the roof deck since the roof deck itself will be cooler. The new all in one roofing underlayment and radiant barrier is perfect for this: www.roofingfoil.com/shop/single-sided-solid-foil-underlayment/

    Using this type of foil makes so much more sense than installing in the attic. The goal should be to keep the radiant heat from ever entering the attic.

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Using www.RoofingFoil.com on TOP of the roof deck is the absolute best. However, if you don't have the option of a new roof, www.AtticFoil.com installed INSIDE the attic works great too.

    What about rodents getting in gaps

    • @AtticFoil
      @AtticFoil  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trust me. The LAST place bugs/rodents want to be is under a hot metal roof on top of a radiant barrier. They get cooked.
