Max Best wins: Aldo 2x, Pettis, Edgar, Gaethje, Ortega, Yair, TKZ, Oliveira amongst others. Thats 7 wins against champions including interims. I think Max has a more stacked resume and faced tougher opponents. Both are great fighers tho.
Better and greatness are different, max is the better fighter he fought in a tougher division he’s more skilled, greatness on the other hand is typically measured by accolades, and Izzy being a 2 time defending champ for as long as he was definitely puts his greatness over max. Max still has a lot more in him tho, and Izzy is pretty much done it seems

I disagree. Izzy was a generational champion and was basically undefeated in his prime. Izzy is probably out of his prime now and starting to lose. This happens to all the greats. Holloway was an upper tier fighter, but not a dominant champion. I put Holloway in the same teir as Ben Henderson, Frankie Edgar, and Anthony Petits. They all have three title defenses and kind of beat each other. You also left out Holloway lost to Conner and Dustin twice. This is recenty bias. Izzy had a much better career and it isnt close.

@@kbmadison6140 izzy lapped his entire division, beat rob twice, beat pereira who’s the most dangerous striker in ufc and only lost when moving up in weight or to alex or sean, max lost to volk 3 times, lost to dustin, and lost to conor, izzy literally ran out of opponents and wanted the smoke with pereira because 185 was too easy for him, this isn’t even a debate

@@juice7717 some of those fights were robberies or close asf tho against weaker comp than max, also Max beat Aldo 2x that alone shits on any of Izzy’s wins other than maybe Periera. Losing to Conor when ur young asf and losing a fight to dustin on a couple weeks notice doesnt hold as much weight as losing to Periera that early into his MMA career and getting dogwalked by Strickland. The volks losses are what make this an argument tho i can understand that
