Building Smoke Sauna with Hand Tools

- Smoke sauna building process from logging to the roof using only hand tools and traditional building technics. The sauna was built in spring 2019 by Vanaajamaja log builders to Mustajõe, Põlvamaa, Estonia.
Traditsioonilise Lõuna-Eesti suitsusauna ehitamine alates palkide langetamisest kuni harjalauani vanade ehitusvõtete ja käsitööriistadega. Saun valmis 2019. aasta kevadel Mustajõel, Põlvamaal.

Greetings from your friends from the north: such a wonderful video and the smoke sauna too! Finnish smoke sauna is not that different after all. Just wait for few months and there will be a video about how to use our version. And if you still can wait couple more years, there will be a book how to build one!

Absolutely amazing! I am going to make a family smoke sauna and this has been the best build I could have watched. The details are next level, I will not be able to achieve this level of craftsmanship but I will build it to the best of my ability and will be proud to carry on the heritage of using a smoke sauna.

What wood did you use for the shingles? The device used to make the shingles is the first ive ever seen. Pretty cool.
This was spruce. In Estonia we also use aspen.
@@joyetgermain oh, aspen and poplar are very similar.
