I was expecting the end of that sentence to be something akin to, ".. than most people are in a year." Or month. Even week. The fact you said "hour" made your comment so much funnier. Thank you! 🎉🎉 Happy New Year 🎉🎉
Being 1400 miles away from all my friends & family & all I have is you queefs to converse with through podcasts.. well damn I couldn’t be any happier, cheers boys you 2 fellas sincerely deserve all the success you’ve seen so far & have so much more work to do, much love & appreciation !!
Happppy New Year boys and all WMBD fans!! Cheers to those folks not drinking tonight too yet having a ball celebrating Not a drinker myself yet identify with fun-loving drinking / smoking folks cuz life's all about having a good time. Much love to all commenters of 2023 always entertaining to read thru, proving Sam & Mark draw the best cool fans! 2024- see ya on the other side!
One of the best openings to a podcast. Made me feel like I was having a drink with you guys. Also is that down on his luck Ian Fidance producing the pod?
I love that Sam loves Jingle All The Way.. my brother and I watch it every year. So corny but there are so many good lines and memorable moments. Christmas classic
Simon Rex, wearing 2024 glasses, sitting in L.A. alone, scrolling his phone and coming across this, yelling “GUUUYS??” then kicking his phone out the window.
Guestless ep!!! Finally! Love all the movie talk btw. Don’t apologize for it! Tbh, if you guys started a movie podcast, I think it would be great. With a similar format to Sam’s pandemic movie pod with Taylor. DeRosa has a movie podcast but they jump around all over the place instead of focusing on one movie they love for the duration of the episode. The website The Ringer has The Rewatchables podcast which is a one film review podcast but I can’t listen to those guys talk for more than 10 min.
Getting a little drink watching my fav podcast ever, the boys relaxing having a drink shooting the shit, here's to another year of hopefully great comedy! I'm gay!
26:45 Sam's surprised, concerned "Recently...?" was episode's funniest moment and unintentionally so 🤣🤣🤣🤣Yup, just last weekend!! Him and Seinfeld racing Harleys when out of nowhere, .. 😆
Happy New Year! For the zoo joke, once the petting zoo was mentioned, I was expecting how prisoners have to work on the sides of the road so a road side attraction comparison or to gain prison money. Either way, hope the zoo joke ends up working eventually.
I am only getting these on Apple podcasts these days, so pleased to pump the algorithm for The Boys for the BEST podcast. Keep it loose, sloppy Jaloppy!!! MC&HNY🎉
Silent films are underrated. That was basically the height of cinema. Sunrise: a tale of two songs is well worth watching and easy to sit through. It’s an amazing film
@@BazookaTooth707 yes, that’s a good one. It’s only about an hour long too. And your’re right about the slasher thing. Passion of Joan of Arc is still mind blowing. It’s really emotional too. Only 80 mins. I love Beggars of Life too. Again, only 80 mins. There is something overall about Sunrise though that I think makes it a perfect introduction. It’s only 90 min long and I feel like if someone watches that then it will make them want to watch more silent films. It also has sound design in it. One of the first instances, which can help ease people in because it’s pure visual poetry. Film language or grammar, whatever. The story is being told through the cinematography. You have to watch with your eyes rather than ears and not many seem to be able to do that. My favourite overall is probably Spies by Fritz Lang but that’s not a great intro. It’s 2 and a half hours longs and it drags in the middle for like 20-30 min but everything else is so good, especially the finale, that I don’t care. Lang also made Faust, which runs just under 2 hours and again drags for like 30 min in the middle a bit but everything else is jaw dropping. It really is. And the ending is one best Iv experienced in anything. Blew me away. Metropolis is his most famous but I don’t love it even though I still think it’s great. I do think it’s better than The Big Heat. Metropolis in its ‘action’ scenes, like when the factory is breaking down, is more exciting than anything in The Big Heat. I’m also obsessed with Eisenstein, the Russian director. He made Russian propaganda films in the 20’s but his editing style and technique is still the best to this day. Has to be seen to be believed. My favourites of his, like Strike or The General Line from 1929 are just full up of images you will never forget. I might sound like a turd but it’s like going into a dream almost. You can get lost in them and their rhythms. And it really feels like you have a window into the past. He also did a film called October, a Russian state sanctioned and budgeted propaganda film showing the October revolution in Russia led by Lenin. The actual revolution itself as shown is not too exciting and the film starts to drag a little before the end of its 2 hour fun time. But the opening 30 40 mins have to be seen to be believed. He depicts an attack on the peasants early on, which ends up getting the Revolution finally fired up and the attack is fucking amazing and crazy. It’s brutal though.
First time I saw miss Pat it was on rogan and I laughed memorably hard…I will never forget ,I was actually crying and holding my sides it was wonderful
That Zoo comparison will be very funny. I hope you keep working on it. That could be a killer clean joke. Maybe you could have a prisoner visiting a zoo and then you can work what you have into conversation.
A Simple Plan is genius yet also literal - an incredibly simple plot that's amazingly executed Way it unfolds and escalates One of few movies wish I could see again for the first time

Silent films are underrated. That was basically the height of cinema. Sunrise: a tale of two songs is well worth watching and easy to sit through. It’s an amazing film
"The Cabinet of Dr Caligari" is also amazing. Pretty sure it could be considered the first slasher lol
