@@Rakshiir you'll see even more prem spam, because you require heat to reliably pen some tanks in this game. What War Gaming will do with the alpha damage change is making players spend more credits on prem rounds in order to deal the same amount of damage. War Gaming profits, as always, while players get even more frustrated, as always.
If you ever had to face a type 5 heavy in your heavy tank, you know what I'm talking about.

I had, and thats why I am very much waiting what they do. Because I think they need to change armor on quite some tanks. Weakspots are good, it rewards skill, meaning it rewards the players who actually aim at them or rewarding players who know how to hide them.
So in my opinion, the change to ammo is a good one, as long as they change armor as well. Because if they do that, they actually reward players who aim at the right spot, and reward players who use the standard ammo (which does more damage) by giving them a DPS edge compared to a premium spammer.
But at the same time: I am also curious if the HE gun on the Type 5 will still be as prominent, simply because if the premium HE isn't as good as it is right now (because they would have to lower damage of it), the gun may not be as good anymore.
Sadly, I very much expect them to just change the ammo, and either not touch armor, or do that much later.
@@Rakshiir Gunnar Karotte Just as you expect, sadly they won't change the armor, that much I can tell. They stated countless times in the past that they wanted armor to be more meaningful (in their vision, probably impenetrable). I remember that not too long ago, they even wanted to nerf medium tanks base penetration across the board to something ridiculous like 240-250 at tier X lol. That didn't make it to the test server (only to the super-test). It was *that* ridiculous.
So my point stands: this prem ammo nerf will only benefit War Gaming, and not the players. They will just keep spamming even more premium shells, to take down the otherwise impenetrable beasts. Less damage per shell > more shells needed in order to achieve that. War Gaming... disgusting company, to be honest.
@@thunder7135 I was a super tester of this mode. Heavy tanks had nerfed mobility by a lot, less dpm and armor still wasn't strong compared to trashing rest of the stats. Even afer nerfing mediums penetration, HT's would become absolete and u could see only TD's and MT's in battle.

KV2 is my kryptonite. I quit the game 2 years ago. All my clanmates have to do, to drag me into WoT to play some games, is mention "We're playing tier 6"
The KV-2's armor isn't superb, but portions of it are good enough to be used for baiting out shots from higher tier opponents who don't quite realize that there is that odd auto bounce angle at the side's of the Turret's frontal profile due to its roughly stretched hexagonal shape. Many players will fire into these thinking it is the turret's frontal plate, but it's actually the heavily angled side armor.
@@Zeknif1 Also, the way he was using the wall repeatedly to force his armour to be even more angled was pretty impressive.. surprised he didn't flip the thing over
@@FluffyDragon I'm genuinely surprised such skill exists anymore from players, the way he kept his turret angled pretty much ensured that the T28 would either autobounce or hit the most effective armor around the mantlet and angled correctly that mantlet armor can be damn near impossible to go through. In some places it's upwards of 300mm of armor especially around where the T28 was firing.

I once got into a KV-2 duel... I fluffed the shot first, and as I backed away from the corner, the enemy’s 152mm derp rang out... a bounce. As I rushed him down, I had to ask the obvious question... “Y U LOAD AP!”... he felt ashamed as I pulled alongside him and aimed my shot fully at point blank at a guaranteed pen point... the shot went into low earth orbit as an enemy player asked the obvious question... “Y U AIM!!!”

Can confirm, aiming is for noobs. Once penetrated an IS-3 turret roof from 400 meters away, while moving at full speed, aiming "from the hip". 970 damage, 4 dead crewmen, game over :D

Actually, I have used the KV-2 on destroyers and light cruisers in WT custom battles. It's not that effective as a battleship. The 40 second reload is crippling!

The thing I find funny with the KV-2 is how brutal it is in video games compared to how ineffective it was in RL. On paper it looks devastating, but given it couldn't fire unless on flat ground and had a 3 minute reload it was a bit of a white elephant.
you can say the same thing about 85% of tanks in WOT.
@@an-dh9zx This is true. Though in fairness, most of them could rotate their turrets if on an incline.
In their defense, the KV-2 was just an improvised stopgap whose role intended to be blowing up Finnish pillboxes. (Though I admit I'm not too clear on whether it was effective at it's intended role or not)
The one at bovvy is 20pdr gun, 105mm is at shaun hindles yard in norfolk area now, jordan also upgunned on to 105mm
If they were built with the 20pdr Type B, becoming a 105mm is just a matter of switching barrels and ammo. Ok and gunsight. Still only required about 2hrs of time and the service of a Centurion ARV's A-frame and winch. Don't know how much exactly recoil would go up and if it would start breaking things.

Thanks. There's just something about the sound of the KV2s 152 mm gun going off that makes me smile. Let alone when it obviates an enemy tank from across the map.
That KV-2 player is good at wiggling and wedging his hull against slopes. Really making the most of rng.
Ah, the KV-2! Such wonderful memories of it just being the KV at T5 IIRC and no one knowing whether or not you were using the troll cannon until they saw you. Many underestimated the power of the derp side. They were "educated"! :D
Didn't mind the Churchill 7 back when I played WOT, side scrapes like a boss. Or at least it used to, though the gun felt pretty lackluster at times

KV-2 gaming at the end was perfect.
It’s pretty comfortable in a Charioteer turret actually - more space than most. The external observer isn’t there because of it being cramped, he’s there because the Cromwell hull is small and the flash from the 20pr is big. The flash obscures the target when the round is outbound. The observer deployed to the side when in a prepared position, so he could see past the flash.

You think the KV-220 is op in WoT? Lol, try fighting one in War Thunder. It is so stupidly, brokenly overpowered that just the sight of one is enough to make experienced players just leave the match. Seriously, go watch a video on the WT KV-220 or KV-1B.

@@tomaten9477 The WT KV-220's turret is basically impenetrable when itis top tier. The only thing to do is try to shoot the gun barrel and then flank it and hit the rear. Luckily, it is also a rare tank here.

13:00 I'd say the E3 is the biggest of them all; playing badly, insulting everyone, etc. I can understand disliking Artillery because they can shoot you without the threat of retaliation, but to hate it to that extent is like saying anyone who plays healers MMOs should be burnt on the stake after being tortured for a thousand days; it's just part of the game.
I would have stay with you but the problem is the arty players insulted hem too, so they are in the wrong now, then they even shoot hem and do damage, if the artys had shut up and not shoot hem maybe things will had been different, but they did not so the E3 patience run out. P.S the obj 261 i think was the worst of both artys i did not expect the GW e 100 to shoot the E3 too. sry if my english is not right.
In my grind to my second T92 MOE, a unicum BC-25t player teamkilled me 3 times in three separate matches within an hour of each other. Several months later, again on my T-92 now with two marks, I found him on the opposing team and let my teammates know what he did to me... I never saw a team focus a player and his platoon so hard as I saw that match. He poked once, and I watched a dozen tracers fly his way. He got chases out of his position by a Wolfpack and he ran into my sights where I was expecting a flex. He never got to shoot more than once with his batchat.

@Mtctt have you ever played one of the high tier american non turreted td's, with a superheavy spall liner you can easilly block all dmg done by arti, in my t95 i regularly blok full HE dmg even from tanks like a type 5 heavy, so he actually is playing badly as he is hiding in a spot where he can be hit but he cant shoot
you don't need a light tank to scout, just ask bobadog, 15kish spotting dmg
Just bloody awesome ...I was about to complain no kv2 in then got to the end. One on my best moments in kv2 was derping a skilled type 64 sealclubber...awesome

Also, KV is a historical tank! Better then polish and chineese tanks invented by WG employee sitting on the toilet!
excuuuse me, speak what you want about chinese tanks, but half of the polish tech tree line were tanks actually built, and the other half, was based on design invented by historical polish engineers - sure none of these engineers had any opportunity tocheck if their designs would even work but that's story for another day ;)
PS. I understand you may come to assumption that both halves are equal in there but they are in fact, not equal. But that's just WGs ability to math ;)

@@petrameyer1121 something along the lines of hey you know what would be an awesome ? if a tank had like armor of the Maus the gun of death start and mobility of t100 lt. i mean yeah it might be just silly but lets make a sketch anyways. 50years or so later wargaming find this "blueprint" and be like oh look a tank we can add into the game.

Jokes aside WoWs side of WG openly admitts when they are pulling historical-inspired fantasy (at least as far as non-russian ships are concerned) (Zao, Harugumo), so I was talking WG's proper messing as if they based it of at least rawest of raw sketches, since I assumed if it was pure WG's invention they'd admitt it as they did for warships, I now realise it was naive assumption ;)

Fun fact: thanks to my location and my own good luck, 'KV-2 o'clock' came at *exactly* 1400 hours local time when I first sat down to watch it.
I actually happen to like the Churchill VII quite a bit. The armor’s pretty good as long as you angle the hull at around 5 degrees and turn angle the turret a la Maus after you fire
I noticed during the E3 battle that someone in chat mentioned, "kemp bush." LOL. So appropriate.
KV2 is surprisingly good hull down. If you don't aim at the corners of the turret you will bounce, that's what happened with the T28, he was shooting the mantlet.
Also my Church 7 record was 7 kills in a T7 battle :P

It seems like people on EU are opposed to KV-2 AP, but people on AP love it. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a tier 6 heavy and had a KV-2 snapshot an AP round through my frontal armor. It has good penetration as is, but combined with the fact that it can over match so many tier 6 tanks roofs/sides...

Ah the Curchill VII. The second heavy tank I got and thought it is an awesomely great machine because it was the first tank that actually bounced some enemy fire. Almost won a 1 vs 6 in it, but it became a draw because I couldn't find the enemy arty

Its about time Mr Jingles waited a long time for this.
The external observer thing wasn't entirely new. The American Ordnance proposed the same thing for the M10 tank destroyer with the 76 mm gun. The gun's blast kicked up a lot of dust which obscured the commander and gunner's vision. So, people suggested that the Commander should leave the vehicle to observe the fall of the shot. How he was supposed to communicate with the crew was anybody's guess. Fortunately, the idea was scrapped.

Except when they're all jammed into my tier six battles, like the Three Stooges trying to go through the same doorway.
My best games in Cromwell and Cromwell B are against t8, just loving playing as underdog when no-one expect nothing from you and then you bite them in ass
Sad how the OI has double the armor as the KV2 but can bounce anything.
Can I just say that every time I see the T-92 i cant help but laugh. It is just such a disproportionately massive gun on what is basically a tractor.
I'm most surprised of that shot the T28 managed to bounce from the goddamn roof of the KV-2, just look at that massive scar on top of that KV-2 turret :'D
I still remember the good old times when this tanks used to be Tier 5 and it happily rekt its way through tier 10 games, taking 20% hp off from a fucking Maus with a single shot.
Hey jingles, you called the KV-220-2 a tier 6.... its a tier 5 premium with a tier 3 gun.
Actually WG could change the mechanic of HE rounds so that they are equal to the HE rounds of Artillery. give it the stun mechanic and reduce the dmg and accuracy.

Not sure the gun traverse angle for the T92 but he could have taken a risk by using his gun on the ground closest to the Obj but far from himself, in hoping the Obj will take more splash damage than himself.

have bought and sold this devil on tracks, not once, not twice, but three times, comrade jingles.. buy to do video worthy plunder and killing.. only to get into nothing but tier 8 matches, getting killed by everything that rolls on the enemy team... ahhhh, the horror and pain of being noob for so many years...
I am genuinely amazed WoT doesn't have a vote kick option, if enough of your team mates vote you out you're gone. To protected against fail platoons there's only a punishment aka lockout timer if a majority are not in a preformed platoon. Not too difficult to add and means that more people will enjoy a quality game and thus be more likely to spend money.

There are even bigger weak spots on the front's of churchill's, the front drive wheels. Even firing directly at the front there is hull behind them.
