Never thought I'd see the day someone stumbled across beta OoT assets, we got very lucky with the overdump and now that people can experience this content 2 decades after OoT released is awesome.
The development of Ocarina of Time has always been so fascinating to me. A mod recreating beta areas and mechanics and really that overall aesthetic of beta OoT is really just a dream come true.
Truly amazing! Great job with the recreation of the original demo, really this is one of the projects I'm looking forward to most, even above any Hyrule Warriors or Smash Bros DLC (not kidding). Really congratulations and thank you very much for your hard work. Thanks to Dinosaur Planet leak and this project I think this has been one of the best years for N64 fans. Keep it up!
helo there zel , that was a great show case of this remade of original demo of 1997 , and i can't describe by words how incredible it is , how ever , i wanted to tell you about a certain though i have being that it was stated by ocarina of time developers long ago , that ocarina of time tell the story of the imprisoning war , from what i can understand from that is that a war happened during that seven year period that link slept during it , and link's journey to free seven sages is that what ended that war after he defeated ganon , which make me wonder if it is possible to add a cut scene that happens after ganon dorf laughs of link pulling the master sword , showing dark energy erupting from temple of time in the form of a smoke , covering hyrule and some monsters rising all over hyrule field and fighting hylian knights , i don't know if it's possible to do smoe thing like that but it would be good to add some thing that show what happened during that time before link woke up , but it's just a request so don't take it too seriously , and thank you for this great show case
Absolutely magnificent. Such hard work you guys have outdone yourselves. Now THIS is how a Zelda's 35th Anniversary should be celebrated. Nothing beats a fans love for a series. I'm very excited to see the finished project and to have the chance to play this game.
Amazing trailer! I'm so happy to see the fruits of labour after the crazy amount of research and work put in by everyone involved and that I was able to contribute some stuff. Hope everyone will love it!
It's insane how much dedication you folks put into this project over the months since the Spaceworld assets were found. Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this dream come true! Yes, I'm extremely hyped.
Spectacular recreations! One and all! My mouth was agape when I saw that you managed to create a Functioning Spirit Medallion! This seems like it would be a great base to build a lot of fun mods off of. You also put in all Six Arrows, fine work! The camera angles for the new areas are so well placed and I am quite curious to see what you do with the Water Temple, last I looked it was still a little... uncertain the paths intended to take to reach the top.
With all these beta recreations being made, I wonder if Nintendo will start to get the message that people are interested in this stuff and not just finished ROMs in their archive like the Mother USA version, Star Fox 2, the Drill Dozer European version, etc.
FINALLY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR YEARS ! Like, nobody ever finished their DAMN beta recreations and it feels good that someone (the team) actually made AND FINISHED a beta recreation !!!
It’s unreal how exciting I am to see the results of all the hard work that went into this project. I’m as giddy as I was as a kid playing oot for the first time
This is gonna be good! I've been hoping for something like this for a long time, I'm glad people have taken their time to look into beta OoT. I hope you guys use some of the beta trailer music, some of it sounded really epic.
dude, this was a dream of mine, to finally be able to play the beta version of oot, and now, thanks to u wonderful romhackers and modders I'll finally be able to fulfill this dream. Thank u all so much!
This is absolutely spectacular! This team is incredible and I would like to thank you all for your admirable efforts for producing this for all of us. God speed.
I hope mario 64 fans get this lucky, I never expected to see any of this in anything that wasn't a blurry video and I never thought possible that it would be turned into something fully playable and organized as a real game. Modders making lots of people feel younger again right now.
This looks sick! ive been looking for a beta restoration everywhere, only criticism i have is that links shield should have the old design, but its still amazing
Congrats everyone, this looks really cool Pog I don't think this is gonna be open source because of legal stuff but I can't wait to have more infos on this mod :D Also cool music catJAM
Maaaaaaaaan. More excited by this than BotW 2 (ok, maybe not, but still. Hmm, no, in fact yes). Hope this will come out before end of summer ! Good job for this enormous work !
Love the music too, gives me some real OG Zelda vibes! When Link uses the spell to turn into Navi, a remake of the little jingle from Zelda 2 should play, the one that plays when you uses the spell to turn into a fairy.
Will the A and B buttons be swapped? Because that'd be cool if it were, I've always loved that interface but could never achieve the actual swapping of the buttons
Incredible, real sad see all the ideas have to be left out. Would like to see Link classic old model from the 96. See the lost wood looks fun to explore, fighting the Stalfos(they should kept that in the game with two different version instead of one). Hope to see more, looking forward to see it
Thank you for still making me hyped about OoT in 2021 :) Navi sections? Whoa! May I ask, is there a place where all the pre-release OoT stuff is getting documented? Like ROM dump finds, video and magazine footage with reference to its source?
The best place for this is The Cutting Room Floor with prerelease and prototype articles for Ocarina of Time which include the stuff you're looking for.
@@zeerox9279 Thank you, I've visited TCRF before and it has incredible amount of research when it comes to ROM data, less so about prerelease video footage and listing changes (maybe I'm bad at navigatign the site, not ruling that out). Some things don't seem to be documented, like how the z target arrows for bosses apparently have been black instead of red at some point, how the Dodongo boss room had some big door with the triforce symbol on it or how Gohma and children have this cool "flashbang" effect when hit, ... to name some things.
@@FakYuhGoogel Yeah the only thing I can think of is the prerelease page for Ocarina of Time on tcrf, but you're right that a lot of stuff is still missing. Maybe you would be interested to take a look and add some of the info you just mentioned? Never heard of the triforce door in Dodongo's boss room for example, is there any footage of that?
@@zeerox9279 Yeah, I'll see if I can add something to tcrf ;) Regarding the triforce door, you can see it in this video: /watch?v=wenL4Rim_8s OoT section starts at 4:18 The door can be seen at 6:17 It also shows a in many ways different render for the area outside of the Temple of Time, including a camera following Link

Amazing work everyone!
It looks better than the zeth64 guys recreation

Great job to the whole team, this is downright incredible!
Now it feels like the 35th anniversary can finally start :)

The extra maps that wouldn't have actually been in the space world demo have a special menu so you can still play them 👍
