i PROMISE. this is the best method to clean your sticky buttons. the qtip method wasnt working so this was my last resort before getting a new controller, thank you for saving me some money

I wouldn't recommend that because you blow the gunk more into the internals and it messes up even more

Same method I use. 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and Toothbrush. It's worked great for me. That said, stick drift on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, or any current gen controller(Xbox Series X or PS5 Dualsense) often requires replacement of potentiometers, which is a complex endeavor. You have to disassemble the controller, desolder the the old potentiometers, and solder the new ones in. Just taking apart the controller is sadly more than many people are willing to do, and it sucks that current gen potentiometers are cheap garbage that only last 2 months at best.

Cause I’m from the UK they’re strict with regulations on what they can put on the shelves in stores do so it’s really hard to come by. What should i substitute isopropyl alcohol with?

Thanks. I looked this up after my favorite controller stopped working because I wiped it down with Clorox wipes that made it sticky , then I wiped that off with water and half the buttons stopped working entirely and I was devastated.
Days later it started working again and I assumed it got too wet and dried off inside and that's why it works again.
Unfortunately I spent 70 on a brand new controller I can't return in process and went back to my old one I got because it's broken in 💀.
Looked this up so I know how to do it properly next time so I don't kill it permanently next time
Will this fix my left stick drift it’s like when I move it forwards it it will run forwards and when I look backwards just to see something it walks backwards
Yes I use this on controllers that have controller drift

Yeah it's used mainly to clean electronics on the outside so it doesn't damage the actual motherboard because it dries fast

A wipe of anything lightly* something that cleans. Or you can get a towel dip it in warm water and soap and wring it out until damp

Elite 2 controller thumb stick is stiff can’t click in while pushing down the left thumb stick. Any idea? I even tried adjusting it with the tool and nothing.
if you tried cleaning it this way and it didn’t work then You may need to open it up as there could be gunk within the controller itself, however elite controllers have many issues like that so if your warranty is still good id recommend trading it in
@@TechReviewsTV I have not tried yet but thank you for your input. I bought it brand new so I thought using it for awhile would work and let it thinner out may work however obviously not. I will definitely try this or open it up and see.

Hi. I used isopropyl on my elite series 2 xbox controller and it left a snowy colour n took sum of the black of the grips on the handles. Is there a SAFE way to reverse what i did i think i ruined it n i didnt use that much either
Are you sure it’s not dirt ? Cause usually you just need to take it out and eventually it’ll go away

My left Xbox controller joystick won’t move up and down. It takes a few tries to get it to move for some reason so I can’t play games or anything. So the joystick does physicaly move but in the game it doesn’t move unless I put force. Please answer ❤️

Make sure to move around the analog sticks when you are cleaning them

You don't need to disassemble the controller just yet, first clean it with isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol and do the same thing I did in this video it should work fine after that and if not you can take apart the controller and soak the individual analog sticks (plastic parts only) in water and soap not the electronics

Yeah just make sure you spam the buttons during the cleaning process and it'll be good as new
@@TechReviewsTV I did ! I used a glasses cleaner wipe for the surface of the controller. Then hot water with a damp toothbrush to clean the groves of the controller since I don’t have any peroxide on me otherwise I’d just go grab some from my work 🏥

I dropped my controller on a plate into maple syrup one day, mostly all my buttons are sticky what can I do, I'm from canada so I'm an avid syrup lover so stopping me from eating that is a big no.

Trust me I've been cleaning my controllers for years and I know there's barely any views but trust me follow the steps and you'll have a clean controller

I would say first clean it just like in this video. Then use a cotton ball/swab with nail polish remover lightly on the analog sticks
