I think I speak for every Dream Theater fan here when I say you should react to the live version. I don’t think anybody would care if you’re doing the same song twice

I don't know if you have a linup for DT songs but I suggests A Nightmare to Remember next! The Ministry of Lost Souls and Breaking All Illusions are great choices as well.

Yeah, you should go watch the live version!! 🙂
I think the "whistle" sound that we hear at the beginning is the sound of the guitar pick plucking the strings with some palm mute.
    Nice reactions, always authentic.

He's "muting" the strings as he strums with his picking hand. Creating a harmonic overtone.

They preformed this live at the Boston opera house.

Until you suffer through the dark you’ll never know the joy in life. Some deep lyrics in that last section

I honestly think you should do an extended reaction to an entire album. A lot of people spam-suggest the more crazy long prog songs and then the reaction people get surprised when they hear that they are actually a very multifaceted band capable of many things. Best way to hear it all is on an album. Scenes From A Memory is a concept album that you would probably get a kick out of. Story isn't overly complicated and it's quite proggy.

Also, the little piece at the end was something John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess would play at soundchecks and they finally decided to recorded it and didn't know where to put it so they sort of made it a hidden track, sort of an epilogue.

Everything by Dream Theater is epic... Short or long songs.

@@alanalanis2257 I know right, You Not Me is like the most epic thing they've ever done.

Yeah, i was going to suggest Finally Free, but hey.. an entire album is needed for that!

You've done a lot of their 20 minute long songs. Maybe try some of their medium length ones such as The Great Debate and Finally Free.

Real orchestra ... Berklee College students including the conductor who helped Jordan write the music.

At 4:41 that's actually a choir you hear in the background.

I believe it’s an actual group of musicians doing the orchestral section along with a conductor via what’s on Wikipedia in regards to the track. I wasn’t sure myself first hearing the track because music technology and virtual instruments are insane these days

I don’t know if you have ever listened to the dance of eternity, but there are 108 time changes in that song. If you haven’t done it and you plan to definitely do the live version
